ABSOLUTELY LOVE the guys at popes. The most trustworthy mechanic i know. I wouldn't go anywhere else for diagnostics of fixing. These guys are helpful, honest, and compassionate. They take pride in their work and you can see it! Anytime I call, they can get me in and always call me when they find out the issue. They will work with you if something needs to be fixed and it's super easy for them, they will help you out and find a way to get it done for you. I can't say enough about the team at Pope Automotive. They did a great job diagnosing the issues with my Jeep. Gave me straight advice and quotes, and answered my questions honestly. Best of all, they solved my transmission issues in the most affordable and accurate way. My transmission was not shifting smoothly, which had me fearing I was in for a full rebuild. They looked it over. Didn't see mechanical issues, but did suspect that my last transmission service (done by another service company) had used the wrong transmission fluid. They did a fluid and filter change, and now it's shifting beautifully. I'll be keeping a close eye on it since it's hard to tell all the damage the last shop may have done, but I will absolutely be going to Pope Automotive from now on. read more

I have been a customer of Pope Automotive/TransAuto for 10+ years. In the past I received excellent service; however, recently experienced a very challenging situation. In their previous iteration and ownership as TransAuto, they were very reliable and fair with their estimates and repairs. As they transitioned to new ownership as Pope Automotive, things changed. For the most part they were reliable and provided good service. But, most recently, I had a very unfortunate experience. In 2022 they replaced my Starter and did some other work. And not quite two years to the date, the Starter they replaced in 2022 failed. Not only did they not stand behind the Starter they replaced - they were unwilling to stand behind the service they performed. So I wanted to let people know that they have questionable business practices and should be aware. read more

Pope automotive, formerly known as Trans Auto...a little over a year ago I took my vehicle into Trans auto to have my transmission looked at, that's when I was told that I needed a replacement or rebuilt transmission, I chose to have my transmission rebuilt and the charge was $3500.00 .... a couple weeks later the transmission completely exploded, I immediately bought it back only to find that the Trans Auto, in a very short time was now under new ownership but they said that they were honoring all warranties from the previous owner, so I had no problem getting my transmission rebuilt again, however after a couple of months my transmission started having problems changing gears, so I brought my vehicle back to Trans auto... now Pope automotive, after a couple of days of my vehicle sitting at their shop they finally called me, they had a list of unrelated repairs that they said I needed to repair before they could honor the warranty, now these were repairs that I planned to repair, but keep in mind, it did hinder them from replacing my transmission a couple of months prior with those same needed repairs, so I went to a different shop to get the list of repairs done, after that they refused to honor the warranty, the new owner lied to my face and said" he never planned or told me that he would honor the previous owners warranty's, he said that I would have to go back to the owner myself whom he purchased the building and business from and get Tom to honor Trans Auto's warranties.... So I just wanted to put this out there to let people know!!Beware of Pope Automotive mechanics, who don't honor their work or word, this is a DAMN shame!!! read more

My nearest mechanic is one of those "old school" shops close weekends with an owner and techs who are honest and KNOW what they're doing and don't roll their eyes when you have questions. A co-worker turned me on to Pope's and I got an "old school" shop ran by a younger guy, with a white board in the office to explain your repairs.
