    Spicy Chicken Sandwich
    Ling C.

I'm feeling the love from my sister and brother in law. They dropped off spicy chicken sandwich and mashed potatoes for me. Both items were delicious! I guess they feel empathy that I am studying for LSAT and viewing Toastmasters zoom meetings this weekend. Yesterday, I viewed a morning session and I watched people competed with great answers to Table Topics questions. Today, I'm watching one on how to use Zoom. You know the emoticon with the head exploding. I'm feeling it this weekend.

I don't order often from here but its always been a bad experience. If its not terrible customer service, its terrible food. I ordered shrimp, while pregnant, and it was overcooked and too tough to eat mixed with undercooked gray shrimp. And the fountain drink tastes like bad water.

Heading into the store, I see the expected "No Chicken Sandwich" sign but what wasn't expected was it was handwritten in a very amateurish way. Maybe Popeyes corporate should send all their franchisees official signs to look more professional. So I had planned to humor Popeyes in their cheesy marketing scheme to make my own sandwich and ordered a 5 piece spicy tenders meal. I was told it'll be 5 minutes but I knew that's a lie. (when were you every told the correct wait time right?) 10 minutes later, I got my order and I headed home. Using a roll and pickles from the supermarket I attempted to make my homemade Popeyes sandwich and although it was good there is not way it tasted like Popeye's made chicken sandwich (I'm still waiting to try). What Popeyes SHOULD do is offer a Chicken Tender sandwich and use the bread, sauce and pickles of what they used in their Chicken Sandwich. Maybe that will be their second round of marketing after this one peters out.

Last time I bought a box of 11 pieces of chicken and I took it home and ate it. I picked up the chicken wings and ate half of it. I found a black bug and I was shocked and lost my appetite.

Like the rest of the nation, I was looking forward to trying the new chicken sandwich but it was sold out everywhere after the first round of release. After it was back in stock, I decided to come to this location since it was near me. I was expecting a sandwich with a big piece of juicy chicken like how everyone online describes it. However, this location served a non crispy, dried a flavorless chicken sandwich with one slice of pickle. Their fries were stale too. The bag they use to put the sandwich in the other locations had a Popeyes logo on it. The one from this location only had a white wrapping Popeyes should do a quality control check to ensure the chicken sandwich is consistent in all areas. I do not know why they would make the chicken at this location half the size and tasteless

Fried chicken is one of the few sinfully decadent foods that you could use to bribe me with if you wanted me to something for you. Popeye's along with its rival KFC are the two biggest franchise chains that do fried chicken. I flip-flop back and forth between the two chains depending on my mood and time of day. This location here in Brooklyn near the water is a decent place. The service is fast and the restaurant is big enough to hold several seats and tables. I decided to go with the 3 piece chicken tenders meal with a biscuit, and added a side dish of Cajun Rice. I finished that all with a Hawaiian fruit punch.

    Still raw....

My boyfriend was excited to try the classic fried chicken sandwich but to his disappointment, it was raw inside! He already took a massive bite. The staff refunded him and offered to replace the sandwich but still, it's unacceptable especially when kids frequently eat the food and they may not be aware of it. Just be extra careful if you do choose to eat at this location.

I try to stay away from fast food now a days but if I have to cave in, would have to be with Popeyes I like this location because its close to home, and the staff is always nice, and jokes around. My biggest problem with this Popeyes is that it is Cash only, which is also a good problem in a way because I never have cash on me and can not be tempted to buy.

Well look at that. Seiyans drinking it up

When I visited New York a second time I told my girlfriend we had to go here. We had eaten a lot earlier in the day and I still insisted we come here because we didn't have much time left and I really didn't wanna miss out. The kimchi chicken sandwich was phenomenal, and the wings were out of this world. The sandwich in particular was so saucy which made it overall so flavorful. The wings are exactly what you'd expect and more - perfectly crispy, crunchy, and juicy. Was I full from our earlier meals? Yes. But stopping by here on our last night was the right call. Generally I'm easy to please, but when I went back home and asked my peers from NY what they thought about this place, they agreed that it was definitely good! It's unfortunate this location closed down but I'm glad there's still other locations that are open. I just hope they're still conveniently located when I plan my next trip. I literally don't stop thinking about this place when it comes to chicken, their name really fits!

I think owners are a Korean wife + white husband duo, which would explain the menu options (korean fried chicken + seafood boil). Not sure if it's true for just this location or the entire franchise. Solid fried chicken + fries whose crispiness stays for your trip home (at lease a 30 min commute). Tip: order sauce on the side so you have plain + sauced wings. What I Ordered: - Wings: on the smaller side - Sweet + Spicy sauce: indeed a little spicy for my weak tolerance, needed to pace myself - Soy Garlic sauce: classic - Sweet Potato Fries: soggy + plain- no seasoning (other places have cinnamon sugar?) - Truffle Fries: fragrant + crispy
