Had to wait in line about 30 minutes after filling out an online order. Was unable to cancel order online - joke!! It hadn't been made yet, but I couldn't cancel. Employees were doing a good job, but they were simply overwhelmed. One man left angry after there was no one to take his "in person " order - he didn't want to use the kiosk, and I don't blame him. He was standing at the counter probably 20 minutes trying to get someone to acknowledge him!! The food was not good. My fried pickles were cold and dry, and my chicken sandwich was not crispy but soggy and just bad. I would not recommend this Popeyes. I, for one, will not be back. Finally! The drive thru is open. So many times I've tried to stop here and the drive thru is blocked off. 20 years in the area and this was my first visit. I think the Cajun flounder sandwich was what got me. I love spicy fish. There was a long line for a Monday lunch time but it went quickly. The guy on the speaker was very polite and friendly. Almost funny even. I appreciated his sunny disposition. This alone will bring me back to visit again. The sandwich was good but a little soggy. I will try it again when it's not so busy. The trash inside was overflowing, and the drive thru menu had some changes marked in an unprofessional manner (blacked out or numbers added on top of other numbers). We waited for over 35 minutes in the drive thru with only 4 cars in front of us. This store is an understandable destination for a big Popeye's craving, but not a viable "fast" food option. read more

I love Popeyes. It's the place my family goes to for a bonding meal. Saying that, no one in Michigan eats at Popeyes and it breaks my heart :,( Me and my friends made a whole trip to specifically go to Popeyes one weekend and this one was worth it. When we arrived we didn't know it was a f*cking truck stop, so we were worried it was going to be ratchet. (Also someone walked in with a ski mask and we thought we were going to die in this Popeyes). It's been awhile since my last visit here and my hubs and I took a detour to P's on our way home from up north. I wish I could say it was well worth the detour, but I wish we had just skipped P's all together. We were surprised when we walked in, because the decor changed, along with the prices. The restaurant has a modern feel with a touch of upscale-ness to it with the small red lights hanging above each table. I actually found the inside of P's to be pleasant and more of a solo restaurant, rather than being attached to a gas station and Country restaurant. But the service and food were such a disappointment. I was shocked to see at the price hike to the menu and realized it's probably due to the renovations to P's. I remembered solo combo meals being $5-8 before the change and now, the range was from $7-9. My hubs and I got the food to go and when we opened up our orders, two piece combo and a side of chicken strips (3), we were sorely disappointed to say the least. There strips were pretty small and definitely more of a snack food than a meal. And my chicken was dry and full of grease/oil. The chicken strips came with two dipping sauces and I got the buffalo sauce for my hubs and it honestly tasted like the hot sauce packets they have. The mashed potatoes tasted the same, as did the biscuit but I would have go say this location has gone downhill in service and flavors. Our total for the meal was a little under $13. The food has always tasted pretty consistent but this time it was a huge disappointment. I'd rate this location a 2.5/5. I'll stick to Lee's if I'm craving fried chicken. read more

I found this restaurant nestled to one side of the main building in the TravelCenters of America (T/A) truck stop. While I am not one to frequent national chain restaurants, every once in a while, a Popeye's comes along and I take my taste buds out for a little Louisiana cuisine. I absolutely love their red beans and rice, and their chicken is always a hit, as well. Easy and convenient for travelers of all sorts, they have plenty of parking available for anything that travels the nearby interstate highway. I have been craving Popeyes chicken for three weeks. I think about it daily, I kid you not. After 3 weeks of daily emotional struggle and internal conflict with my (healthier, more sensible) self, I finally did it...and boy was it worth my while. Part of the reason why I was so hesitant to come here was because of all the sad reviews I saw for this particular Popeyes location. But hey, with only one Popeyes in the vicinity of Ann Arbor, beggars can't be choosers. No promotions, coupons, or staggering deals as others have noted, but I caught a glimpse of the "2 can dine for $9.99" advertised on the bulletin board on entry to the truck stop oasis, so I went with that--not bad in my opinion. Service was fine, let's be real, ain't nobody expecting to be wowwed by the service here. They had ran out of spicy chicken breasts when I got there, so the server asked if he can replace it with some other pieces, which I was okay with. I like thighs more than breasts anyhow, so it was a win-win. I ordered a 5-piece box and came home with 8-pieces of chicken. Moral of the story? I just won at life. It makes me sad to write this, but my experience was just that awful. I placed my order on the app and waited in the drive through line as that is what I selected for pickup. When I finally got to the speaker I was informed that I needed to come inside. I went inside and had to wait AGAIN. It took 25 minutes to get my order which consisted of items that are already prepared and I could see in the warmer. The lady that was working in the drive through was mad because I simply said that the app said drive through was an option. She started dropping the F bomb yelling as she walked to the back. I asked the person working the register if that was acceptable to which he replied, "I'll talk to her." He proceeded to tell her she was ok. She then told me she could talk any way she wanted because she came in to help. NEGATIVE 5 stars!!! Although the website and app both posted closing hours at 9pm despite it being a holiday (1-2-23) when I pulled up to the establishment it was CLOSED! I placed and paid for my online order via the app and 20 minutes later was disappointed that not a soul was in sight. I tried calling but went straight to voicemail. To top things off I had to file a dispute with my credit card since Popeyes STILL processed my payment.
