My last review for this location was about 4 years ago. Not much has changed. I ordered a full bowl of soup( vs a cup of soup) & a 1/2 BBQ Chicken baguette sandwich. AGAIN the amount of soup was the SAME AMOUNT as the CUP of soup that another in our party had ordered. First time visiting their new location since they moved and the experience wasn't worth it. Yeah, I won't be back at this location. Shrinkflation must have hit Panera, I ordered 30 bagels, sliced and toasted, half of my bagels were mini bagels, all placed at the bottom of the bag, regular size on the top. Additionally, they packed all the bagels in one bag, they should have divided them into 3+ separate bags. Due to their packaging, the bottom bagels were all smashed/crushed. Also didn't appreciate them over toasting the bagels. They need to have some common sense when it comes to packaging! read more

I come to the Panera on Jackson usually at least once a day. The staff here is awesome,, they treat you with respect serve you with a smile and make sure that your food is what you want. My family or friends are always impressed because they always call me by name. The cleanliness inside the restaurant is superb. They make sure to keep the tables clean and the floor is clean. If I had a complaint, it would be the speed. Going through the drive-through it can be quite lengthy in the morning, maybe it's due to staffing issues post Covid. But in my opinion, it's worth the weight. Love the staff love the place highly recommend. read more

This Panera location is excellent. We've always had good service and kind manager. We had a few times where in a sandwich a scrambled egg was subbed for a sunny side up egg but other than, everything has been great. We've eaten here many times and there is rarely a mistake with our orders. My kids particularly like the bbq chicken sandwich. Thanks Panera!! read more

Previously I loved to enjoy lunch with friends in the pleasant welcoming atmosphere at Panera, when it was on Jackson Rd...with a little fireplace even! Things have changed. Now the pastry selection is minimal, no more "clean food" claims posted, prices are getting as high as a full service dinner restaurant, and the atmosphere is loud and looks like a school cafeteria. Definitely NOT someplace you wanna meet a friend for lunch. They added the drive thru, but now it is a 'drive on by' for my family, my friends and I. It is always nearly empty inside even though its larger than the original on Jackson. Seems they made some bad decisions in redesigning this business. read more

I usually get the deli sandwiches all the time, but i was compelled to try something different since they have huge menu choices. So we were greeted and seated. Nice people and good service here. The new Almond pastry, and the new Cherry pastry, are dry and tasteless, the Pecan Braid also dry and over glazed. Not the quality Panera has had. Panera seems to be looking for change, unfortunately in the wrong direction. As I walked into the Panera bread on Zeeb road with my own father, I would like to know that the ambience is horrible and they're so many old people in the area. Also, the iPads were very laggy and the mac & cheese a corn. My sister was very good. I would like to say that I got to The bacon turkey and cheese sandwich and I also ordered a drink, but it didn't give me any size options so they gave me the littlest drink ever I could barely fit any soda into the drink. I'm still not over Panera changing their bagel recipe several years ago and getting rid of the strawberry cream cheese but I'll let it slide because the soups are still so solid. As we move into the colder months, my cravings for them grow (particularly the chicken wild rice and the broccoli cheddar) and I appreciate that you can order online and pick up curbside. It's a safe, low contact option during pandemic times. Last time I ordered from here, a couple of weeks ago, my pick up was right on schedule and the order was right on target. Panera in general can be be hit or miss on accuracy but this location gets it right most of the time. I just wish my beloved bagels were back to how they used to be! My husband ordered soup and salad. He asked for the BAGUETTE that comes with it to be bagged separately because he has to be gluten free and he knows I enjoy the baguette. Instead of a baguette, he was given a piece of stale sandwich bread. This isn't the first time something like this has happened at this Panera. On several occasions I have also been given stale sandwich bread instead of the baguette. Today the greens in my salad weren't the best (romaine) and there wasn't much chicken on it. Other Panera restaurants in Michigan have a clean, quiet, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere. My wife and I walked in the Panera on Zeeb Rd. in Ann Arbor. The music was much too loud, the air conditioning was much too cold, even with long pants on and the restaurant didn't seem well cleaned. We walked next door to Starbucks, where it was quiet, clean, and comfortable. As a former restaurant manager, I encourage the general management to look at the reviews for this Panera site to see whether the comments with respect to food, service, and atmosphere are up to Panera's standards. I would not walk in this location again. Loud music (outside of a bar setting where it is expected) is one of the easiest ways to lose customers who are there to relax, have meetings, or to do work on their laptops. read more

Panera's soups are the one menu item that I have enjoyed in the past so I was excited to see Vegetarian Autumn Squash Soup on their online menu. It was rich and flavorful and was the high point of our order. My wife also enjoyed the Green Goddess Cobb Salad w/ chicken while I chowed down their rather bland Chipotle Chicken & Bacon Flatbread. One disappointing aspect of this carryout order was their excessive delay in bringing it to my car despite leaving a very generous "COVID-style" tip when ordering online. After parking in Panera's designated carryout parking slot, I had to call them twice before my order was finally carried out at least 10 minutes later. Come on Panera...you can do better than that! I ordered from this location three times and all three were bad. The first time I ordered a sandwich and it almost had no chicken while I asked for extra and tomato was very old. I didn't have time to go back or complain because I was on my lunch break. Oh Panera, you didn't disappoint me. I tried a new item yesterday the spinach bacon souffle. It was flaky, delicious and a wonderful flavor combination. It was filling without feeling heavy and was great for breakfast or brunch. I also had the iced coffee. I really liked the packaging it came in as I ate it 1 hour after ordering and it was still warm.I used the touch screen ordering as I was undecided what I wanted to eat and could easily browse thru pictures of items. This review is a complaint about the menu items. It is very upsetting when items that are favorites get dumped off the menu. I have complained in their receipt surveys but that does not seem to matter. So I hope that they take this complaint seriously. I have been a Panera Rewards member since 2005. My favorite item that kept me COMING BACK is the SPINACH ARTICHOKE SOUFFLE. I had to always get up early to purchase it because it was marked sold out early. Today when I placed my delivery order, I did not see it. I ordered a different souffle because it was my first day off since Easter and I got up early to place my order. I work locally and have given this place more opportunities than I can count and it's always something. How hard is it to serve menu items? For $30 I could have had a sit down meal and been waited on. Tomato soup is cold and has chunks of bread and unidentifiable objects in it. Bread is often stale or extremely hard. The interior is open-concept with few booths, the noise is bad because of the high ceiling and lack of partitioning, and the seating is industrial and uncomfortable. The pictures of those new sandwiches look great!! I was hungry so ordered the "pepperoni mozzarella melt on a toasted baguette"! Doesn't that even sound good!? It's actually nothing like the picture - its a paper thin layer of a few pieces of pepperoni with a little cheese in the middle of a giant bun. Sauce is then kind of squirted onto the bread to give it just the right amount of soggyness. Kind of like the picture, but with half of everything...... ...I imagine that one committee came up with this sandwich, another committee photographed it and the final committee figured out how to make it 50% cheaper while keeping the price at $12.00. I ordered a Cobb salad to go. When I got home, I found it did not contain any avocado or bacon. That is not a Cobb salad; nor did it match the picture on the website, which contained both. I called the manager, who was very apologetic and immediately refunded my payment. She was helpful, attentive, warm and polite. She also indicated what she would do to make sure this doesn't happen again. Now, if they would only add bleu cheese to the salad, it would be perfect. One of my favorite Paneras in the area because it stands on its own and is not connected to a mall or shopping environment. Because of this, the location feels more leisurely and it was often a study or hang-out destination for me when I lived in Ann Arbor. A recent visit revealed that this location has graduated nicely to the online ordering days of Panera, with numbers on the tables and rapid pick up easily available for your order. I found this distinction particularly helpful to order from ones seat, which I had not utilized before, as there was a long line of at least 10 people when I arrived. I needed a place to grab a quick lunch. Had never been to Panera before. They gave me one of the buzzer things that lights up and vibrates when the order is ready. Fill your own drink. Refills are free. Wi-Fi is free--I saw a lot of laptops, but I did not see anybody plugged in, so be sure your battery is full. Pasteries are dry and not very appetizing but I came in to check if they have bagels and lox. No cold smoked salmon. They have grilled or broiled salmon for sandwiches. The worst Panera. They get our Rapid Pickup order wrong Every. Single. Time. 100% fail rate. Pictures show no romaine, add spinach. And we get a bowl full of romaine. Our order is never right.
