Came back to Popeye's because they brought back the Cajin Rice. I waited a good five minutes before I was greeted, then took a few minutes to get my order correct. So, now I am waiting for spicy chicken, because I can get regular chicken anywhere. But, I digress, the whole time I wa waiting to order. No spicy chicken had been dropped. Today , 6/30/26 , I went to the Popeyes near the Kroger on Pleasant Hill Rd near Peachtree Industrial Blvd .I had a coupon and presented it to the cashier by placing it on the counter facing her so that she could see it , and then proceeded to tell her what sides I wanted , She asked me to pick the coupon up and hand it to her, it was closer to her at this point than it was to me . I didn't really hear WHY so I just picked it up and handed it to her . Rather than raise a stink while she was preparing my order , for obvious reasons , I waited until she was done , paid for it with a debit card , and then asked why she couldn't just pick the coupon up , and she said I was being disrespectful by placing the coupon on the counter .ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME .? When I asked for the gallon tea bag, like, you know, THE ONE ON THE APP, the response was "I ain't never known this store to have gallon bags!" #mypointexactly I pointed out examples of things I've experienced them being out of like honey or hot sauce. The counter person asked me if I wanted either of those. No! I want to not have to balance 4 large sweet teas on my way home! The service was absolutely terrible. We went through the drive through and it took us about 30 minutes after we placed the order to get food. The person working the drive through should not have been dealing with customers. She was incredibly rude, borderline hateful. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were understaffed, but I saw four different employees walk past the open drive through window and never acknowledge us. We were supposed to get large drinks, they gave us mediums. We didn't get a couple of our side dishes. What we did get tasted good. So I'll definitely be trying Popeyes again in the future. We used to Popeyes's service at another place. But this was our first time we eat this location. It was extremely terrible. seemed like each staff had their own task and did not support each other. When we went to order food and waited for them to call our order number. It took 42 minutes to wait for them while a customer before us was called to pick up their food, and they were almost done eating. I was surprised why we were still waiting and it seemed like they did not care about us. I went to ask the person taking my order and she was surprised that we had not received our food yet. She asked her colleague (who would prepare the food for those orders) and he was very calm as if we did not exist. He did not show any apologies for forgetting that there was an order waiting for him to prepare. When he prepared our order, I could see that he was very tired or did not want to prepare for me. We felt like we came here to get free food and it depended on their kindness or mood. After giving us the food we ordered. They also did not have any napkins or spoons for customers. I had to ask him if he could give me some napkins to wipe my hands. It seemed like it was a tiring day for them. But that does not mean we should be affected by their mood. We walked in and had one person in line waiting to order. 10 minutes later we get to order. Then find out it would be a 15-minute wait for blackened chicken tenders. What has happened to the Popeyes Franchise?!?!? Popeyes use to be a great go-to for chicken. Everything was fresh (sides, desserts and biscuits), chicken crispy and fried to perfection. That is not the case today! No matter which location you go, the problems are the same.... long waits, out of key items, customer service is non-existent, and the quality of the food is horrible. This is particularly true for the Pleasant Hill location. I've asked staffers at the window (the few that seem to be ok and after i've received my food) the question, "why is the wait so long"? The one common answer i've gotten is poor staffing. Staffers just don't show up for work. The ones that do, don't care. This location is busy most of the time. This is the only Popeyes servicing this area and it is a S%^T SHOW!! Staffers are on their phones, standing around talking, not doing anything to service us customers waiting in the loooong, non-moving line. When you do reach the intercom to order, you are told to "wait a minute" or no one says anything. As you wait, you look at the broken menu board, outdated and burned-out intercom, dirty area. Do they ever power wash the area at the back door? The parking lot is uneven with potholes. If you go in the evening, the area is not well lit at all. Dark and looks sketchy to say the least. Not sure if the exterior lights and Popeyes sign just don't work or the staff refuses to turn them on in fear more customers will come. After waiting about 5-10 minutes, someone finally asks for your order. As you begin to order, you're cut off abruptly and told "we ain't got that" or "we out of that", so you order what they do have available because YOU WANT POPEYES CHICKEN! You get around to the pick-up window and it gets worse. You are met with an unfriendly scowling face asking for your payment. The staffer looks as though WE the customer are annoying them...WTF!! They may repeat your order to make sure they have it right, but most times they don't. So please CHECK YOUR ORDER B4 YOU DRIVE OFF!! It's unfortunate that we consumers have to deal with this type of service today within the fast-food industry. Popeye's still has a great menu and if the food is prepared as we remembered, it can be a great experience. This is the worst Popeyes ever and considering how most of them are ran, that is really say something. Every time I've come here, they are always out of half of my order. How are you out of chicken an hour before closing? Also, most of the times that I come, they only have like one chicken sandwich and they're like "Yeah, we're not making any until later. They're frozen right now." I don't understand why they don't make them when they see that they're running low. I try to call beforehand to make sure they have food that I want before wasting my time going but they NEVER pick up the phone. The employees obviously do not like their job and always talk *very loudly* about how they want to leave and give customers attitude when ordering. It isn't my fault that you're about to clock out and your location is understaffed. I'm coming in at 2PM not near closing so I don't understand the problem. Staff are extremely unorganized, orders take about 40min, no one is available to check up on your order. Since Covid -19 you can't sit and eat it inside anyways. I got me something else from another place. We get home and serve the food and my friend takes a bite and says this chicken is bad. This was a trash experience. I feel scammed. Times are hard. Especially right now. I'm a healthcare worker during this pandemic, I get it. And I know the fast food industry isn't easy. Drive-thru isn't busy. I tell them I have a coupon for a 14pc family meal with 7 biscuits and 2 large sides for $24.99. For my sides I ask for a large mash potatoes w/ gravy on the side, and then another large gravy as a side if possible. I get to the drive thru window, they hand me my order and they don't give me my receipt or my card back until the very last minute when they give me my order. I ask them if everything I ordered is in there, with the two gravies and mashed potatoes. They say yes. I'm not one to hold up the drive-thru or the employees by looking at every single little thing, usually I just quickly sift through my items to confirm it's all there and then I go. I want to trust they are doing their job and I don't want to inconvenience anyone. Well I guess I'm going to have to hold them up after all and literally count every piece of chicken one by one, every biscuit, just everything. Because these guys MESSED UP. After I leave the drive thru and get a closer look at my order I realize they didn't give me mash potatoes or my 7 biscuits! So I just paid $24.99 for 14 pc of chicken and some gravy. Dining room is closed. I try to call them and see if we can work something out because by now the drive-thru is packed. But their phone line is OFF so the only way to correct this is to go through the drive thru AGAIN. At the speaker I tell them I didn't get my mash potatoes. One of the employees tells me they ran out of mash potatoes and only have fries. Another employee says through the speaker that she will make mash potatoes for me. Cool. I get to the window and the employee says they don't have mash potatoes after all and can only offer green beans or fries. I tell them fries and they just hand it to me and try to send me off. I look in my bag again and that's when I realized they never gave the 7 biscuits either! I had to wave and tell them! One of the employees was like "yeah I know we're making some". No I don't think they knew, because they were really trying to send me off through the drive thru. They just shove the biscuits at me, don't even make eye contact or apologize or offer a refund or anything! When I get home the fried chicken is soggy and gross, you can tell it's leftover chicken. It tastes almost like KFC. And not only that but one of the gravies HAD NO LID. How do you give gravy with no lid?! They just shoved it in a sandwich bag so it ended up spilling everywhere. They could have told me it doesn't have a lid when they handed it to me. I look through the gravy and there are large chunks of BACON in it. I've never had Popeyes gravy with large chunks of bacon in it, I can't eat chunks of bacon. This was horrible and lousy. People are spending their hard-earned money when finances are scarce to buy a meal for their family. Popeyes is a treat for some families at this point. They ran out of chicken on several orders and the manager could not get his ticket timing right resulting in a super long wait. One customer had a 10 PC and asked for ketchup and hot sauce. The staff gave him LITERALLY 1 of each. By the time I left the restaurant it was a little after 8:30PM. As I was leaving, a customer said to me "You waited 45 mins for a 4 PC?? " I responded back " it's better than making everyone wait an extra 10 minutes to get my $10 back" What was suppose to be in and out inn10 minutes turned into 45 mins? Where do I begin. This is a new location and I was excited to have one open near me. I have been there several times and the results are always the same - long wait times. But this time was especially bad. Went in at 9pm and the line was short but the were understaffed. We order and go to get our sodas and the spigot is missing on the Coke and when we try to get a Sprite it begins to spray all over the place but gives us the soda. It was obvious that the young girl behind the counter was overwhelmed and new so everyone waiting seemed okay. The issue came when the assistant manager started yelling at the young lady. SMDH. She was unnecessarily rude to the cashier and the people waiting to place their orders. When you look around the restaurant the garbage is overflowing. When you look behind the counter at the kitchen it looks filthy. Fast forward to home. Chicken was good. My mother drinks some of her soda and puts it on the bedside to sip on over night. She doesn't eat her chicken. Overnight she throws up a lot. We can't figure out why. The next morning she goes to pour out the soda that's been sitting overnight and guess what she finds at the bottom of the cup? A spigot from the soda machine! These spigots are supposed to be soaked nightly to decrease bacteria. This was probably the reason she was sick! So I take a picture and video because seeing is believing. Take it back to the restaurant and there is a different manager there who I have seen before and seems nice. I show her the spigot in the cup and she says 'we were looking for that!' She apologizes and gives me a 2 piece for my trouble. That is not enough. There is a systems problem at this location that needs to be addressed. That assistant manager should not be working with the public if she can't cope with the public. I will be doing the survey and contacting corporate. I just left the store and I ordered the number 12 - which is popcorn shrimp and french fries combo. I just uploaded the photos of the meal. They put 10 popcorn shrimp and a couple of fries and call it a $10 meal. I would have been better off going to panda express and get a real meal. On top this - they put my food in a checkers bag. If you're here to see what I think about the Popeyes chicken sandwich, it's great, and in my opinion better than Chick Fil A's due to its wonderful crunch and overall texture. Obviously, this is not the reason for rating this place so poorly. For my visit, I made my order over the app so I could redeem the GME tendies deal (thanks, Popeyes) and selected pickup via drive thru. When I pulled up to the drive thru, I told them I had my order already processed and paid for and that it should be ready for pickup. They seemed GameStopped in their tracks, hesitated for a moment, and the first thing they told me was, "You're going to have to cancel." Luckily, just a second later, they took that back and told me to pull up to the next window. Minor offense, but forgivable overall, and no time was wasted. I'll let this one slide. I pulled up to the next window, and the employee was not wearing a mask. Furthermore, I was kept waiting far too long for a drive thru preorder. This shouldn't take longer than if I were to go inside the restaurant with no plan at all, but my order was prepared for them beforehand and was supposed to be ready for a drive-by pickup. In the end, I finally got my food, but since I was driving and in a time squeeze, I ever so foolishly trusted that Popeyes had my order correct and gave me everything. It was not until I returned home and opened up my tendies that I realized they left out my mashed potatoes. I felt like I was failed in every regard with this experience. As usual, I expect to have to wait about 20 minutes, this turned into a 45 minute ordeal. I ordered a 12 piece family meal, spicy all dark meat with 2 large red beans and rice. After getting to the window 20 minutes after ordering I confirm what I ordered and was told yes! We are just waiting on chicken - like always- fast forward another 25 minutes and I got my order, except! The only side available is Cajun rice. Why did you take my order for red beans if you were out? There was only 1 car ahead of me so no, they didn't clean you out of red beans. I left with my order and rice somewhat disappointed. It wasn't until I got home and realized they had given me the wrong flavor chicken and the wrong type of chicken that I was more upset. $26 for an entirely wrong order, the only thing correct was the number of pieces of chicken. I get it's a pandemic and times are hard, but...I'm still spending my time and money to get food and try to order take-out every so often to keep places moving along like the rest of us. I am thankful the manager took my info down and was willing to redo my order but when I went in for the replacement, I still waited 30 minutes on chicken AND they won't replace large sides, uh, I paid for red beans and rice I should have gotten them. By far the worst experience I've had at a restaurant! They have a help wanted sign on the front door, but when you go in there were several employees just walking around or hanging out in the office . The cashier was packing DoorDash or delivery orders before serving the guests currently in line. THEN as it was getting busy and more and more people were coming in an employee walks from around the counter to lock both doors coming into the restaurant. Still not sure if he didn't want more business or trying kidnap us all, and had the nerve to be upset as people are leaving and having to unlock the door to get out, which of course allows people to come in .Very strange. Next Someone comes in and wants to speak to a manager, which I thought did cross my mind where the manager was this whole time. To my surprise, she was sitting in the lobby the entire time. The entire time there was no such urgency or care about service or the customers that were in the building and drive-through, which was wrapped around the building. I thought going in side would be faster since the drive-through line was so long and again to my surprise, I spent over an hour waiting for my food. Please to better at this location. Holy cow I'm going to have to give up Popeyes chicken. I waited a full 30 minutes to get a two piece spicy with a breast and a leg. There was no biscuit there is no side item and there was no drink. The cost was over nine dollars which I didn't mind paying and they warned me of the price increase. What they did not warn me of was the wait time. The dining room was closed so the only way of speaking with an employee was through the drive-through. After ordering and paying the employee asked me to pull forward into a waiting parking spot. That's a big mistake because if the order is wrong do you have fewer options to take any recourse. Anyway I wait in the parking lot for about 25 minutes then decide I'm just going to have to get back in the drive-through line. There were other cars (about three) already in the drive-through line. When I got to the window it has been a half an hour and they were able to give me my order and I checked it before pulling away from the window.I love Popeyes chicken but I don't think I can visit this location again. read more
