ok I'm just going to review the food. it's a new location so the staff has to get up to speed. I ordered the eight piece chicken meal, classic not the spicy. I wanted to compare it to KFC. Well the coating on the chicken was very bland and thin, while the chicken was fine the coating wasn't. sort of like corn flakes. KFC wins hands down, maybe the spicy chicken is better. s The sides were fine mashed potatoes and coleslaw. you only get one side included and pay for a second. biscuits were a little better then KFC still dry but more tasty. read more

Just tried Popeyes after their move from Pleasant street, and I was disappointed. I ordered a 3 piece meal, spicy, with red beans and rice, and a Dr Pepper. When I went to get my drink, all that came our was clear carbonated water. When I got my order, the red beans were more like a liquid, without real solid substance. The taste was adequate. However my 3 piece meal, had somehow turned into 4 strips, and spicy at all. I realize it's a new location, but overall, the service was slow, they clearly weren't communicating with each other (the person who delivered my order knew the DP wasn't working) and the food quality is suffering. I hope the next time I try it, things will have improved. read more

My first time in this town and also in this restaurants location. I got the chicken strips as a meal. Sucks that they don't have gravy for free, which they probably should cause I don't see why it shouldn't since you are already buying the meal they should just give it to the customers. I met for the first time a new employee by the name of Chris. He bout soul and smiles to the atmosphere as this is exactly what this place needed. He greeted customers and was extremely attentive. He asked questions and even made suggestions. He made a sauce out that had me and another customer licking our fingers because that's how good it was. This place has struggled to meet even the minimal expectations to making a customer happy. The wait time was ridiculous and at times the chicken was not cooked to standards. The employees was rude and very ignorant. Went at lunch time and got the big box - Chicken was just ok, Fries were cold and soggy, Biscuits used to be awesome, but no longer, now flat and leave a shortening taste in your mouth, the coleslaw was warm and had a tainted taste. If I could leave a 0 I would. Where do I begin. The customer service is the Worst I've ever seen. They never smile or greet you. They all just stand around and look like they don't know what to do. The manager Jessica is horrible. she's cocky, looks mean and disgusted when she takes care of customers. She has No personality. I even tried to talk to her and make her laugh or even crack a smile. I compare fast food restaurants to other similar places. In this case, the only comparison is KFC. In every respect (but drinks), Popeye's is way better than KFC. 1. Larger portions. 2. Better tasting chicken. 3. Better cooked chicken 4. Better Mac & Cheese 5. Better biscuits. 6. Good fries. I would have given them 5*s if it wasn't for the drinks. There is only one drink dispenser. Its the new kind with multiple screens. It took my wife and I a REAL LONG time to figure out how to navigate from screen to screen and find what we wanted. In the end, the machine told me that what I wanted (lemonade) was unavailable, so I started looking all over again, and then it was not clear as to how to get the drink to come out. My wife wanted ice tea and after fumbling with the machine for several minutes, went back to the counter and was told you could not get ice tea from the machine, you had to get it from them. At first I thought our problems with the machine was because we are old farts and this was new technology. However, I watched several other people of various ages and sexes all take 4 times as long to get a drink as it does in other fast food places. I hate to thing what the line at the machine would be like during a busy lunch time. Now that we know the system, it will be much easier to get a drink the next time. read more

In Dartmouth, MA to study and was excited to see a Popeyes in Fall River. Went in to buy a promo combo with 14pcs chicken+ 2lrg sides + 7 biscuits. This got a 1 star because well I couldn't give it 0 but one good thing was that the coupon didn't work on the app but the cashier gave me the deal anyways which I was appreciative for. However, when I checked the box of chicken back in Dartmouth it was all old pieces and 2 had raw fat. Threw the box away! sides were ok. WASTE OF MONEY! $24 for 2 lrg sides and 7 biscuits! I don't drive and was just in Fall River with a friend so couldn't go back and return the chicken. Such bullshit! This place smelled of death and homeless people when I walked in. The staff was just leaning around the counter and ignoring all the customers. I took one look and ran. Not to mention there was scary looking guy in a ski mask in the parking lot who looks like he could end me at any time. There was also a sketchy car parked in the very corner with the car lights on and the guy inside was just staring at my partner and me. My review is more like 3.5 stars, rounded up for good measure. This is a pretty good fast food chain, not to be compared with other chicken joints in the area that are non fast food. It's on a similar level of KFC. The Popeye's of the Northeast are a hard find, so it's pretty special one has graced the Riv. Service is usually poor here. Most of the staff seems put out to help, and sometimes you even get extra sass when you don't deserve it. And usually expect a wait because something usually needs to be fried (which can be more of a good thing, at least the food is fresh). Their chicken is tasty, and their unique sauces are even better. Try to blackened ranch for subtle spice. The sides are also pretty good. Fries are delicious, mashed potatoes are yummy and mac and cheese is good. To whom it may concern, I visited your fine establishment Monday August 26th, 2019 at 8:06 p.m. I was greeted by a polite young man who informed me and my friend that the restaurant was out of sandwiches. I understood what was happening due to my social media exposure. However, I do not appreciate the server forgetting my biscuit with my order. I ordered a large Cajun rice with mash potato gravy with my meal and I needed the biscuit to soak the residual gravy. I had the pleasure of eating lunch here with my sister today in what I thought was a massive, clean and beautiful looking Popeye's. I actually did some research and it was featured and filmed this year on Food Network's Unwrapped and this restaurant is one of the flagship Popeye's to unleash the new branding image, signage and graphics. Seriously, whatever they are doing new image wise is kick butt because for once I was happy to sit inside and eat at a fast food restaurant. Service is great with a lot of people working in the back and well, you can't really argue with Popeye's chicken. It's a chain restaurant but it still kicks the pants off of KFC any day. I believe after the meal, the general manager waved hello to us, and that always gets brownie points from me. Overall, really good vibes in here and like I said earlier, probably the best and cleanest looking Popeye's restaurant I've ever been to. Extremely pleasant experience. Bought a Family Meal, and the chicken was uncooked. I will never be coming back here again! And I love Popeyes.

I have been going to this restaurant since the day they opened, the food has always been good, kind of pot luck though as to how fresh or hot the food is but 99% of the time would rate it an A+. But that's not my problem, today I order my food and when I ask for my senior discount I'm told by the FOOL behind the counter that they don't give a discount because the money you save by buying a meal is all you get. When I asked him what he meant he said "if you bought everything separately (chicken, side, & biscuit) it would cost much more so buying the meal is the discounted price and they don't discount it further" mind you now you are paying full menu price but he insists that's a discount. Told him I have ALWAYS gotten a discount there every time I go there and he says "well whoever is doing that is wrong" I asked to see the manager and he said that that was him. (kind of doubt that) I really hope he isn't because if that's the way he runs the restaurant it won't be long until they close their doors. read more

Came here on my lunch break and the food was all right but the staff is incredibly rude. The cashier their which I think was the manager is the most miserable rudest employee I have ever dealt with. I asked to do separate orders and he just got extremely mad because it was more work. When he forgot to give me straws I asked another employee for them and she gave me the worst attitude as if it's coming out of her paycheck.
