I love the food at Popeye,s but I was required to use their delivery service twice. I think they use DoorDash but I am not sure. What I do know is that the first order never arrived and I was never given any satisfaction. They do not have customer support other than saying they can't do anything. I decided to give it another shot today. The order came but it was missing the only healthy item in it, the coleslaw. I called the store and they can't do anything. I tried their online automated support and it was as useful as most of them are which is not at all. I said I wanted to talk to a human thinking I was about to get some service. Nope. I ordered a Cajun turkey about a week ago & I asked the lady if the turkey was going to be cooked, she said yes. This was for my daughters Friendsgiving. We scheduled to pick it up 30 minutes prior to the event starting so that they could enjoy a warm meal by 5:00pm that day. When I arrived to pick it up, they gave me a frozen, yellow turkey. On the poster they have outside their building, on the front window,it says "heat and serve." The lady at the window told me to "heat it up for 2 hours." For two hours? That's not heating the turkey, that's cooking the turkey! So anyway, it is what it is. I ordered they're regular food that came out to be $75. I asked the woman, who spoke to the manager, if they could honor the $53 I spent on the turkey & I'd pay the difference for the other food I ordered. They said no, they didn't want to take the turkey back or would give me a refund. Instead, I went to El Pollo Loco. There, I was met with outstanding service. Three different cashiers asked me if I needed any plates, napkins, silverware, etc. I definitely will not be returning to this Popeyes location, or any other location for that matter . MAJOR FAIL!! 1st one in the drive thru. (See pic) I even showed up 15min early. (open at 10a) Finally at 10:03, the employee comes on the speaker to ask me to give her a few more minutes, yeah, no problem I responded. I can see the front door, people are line up too. (see pic) Then at 10:05, she comes back on with this announcement, "We will be taking orders for the chicken sandwiches at 11am, what would you like to order?" I asked if this was done everyday or just today. "Everyday" was her reply. I told her that I wouldn't be ordering anything today and drove off. I also saw disgruntled customers walking back to their cars and shaking their heads. It definitely isn't a place that I would seek out as I'm not big on fast food but, it was family dinner at my sisters and that's what everyone wanted. I was somewhat surprised that the chicken was as good as it was. Juicy, flavorful and oh so crispy. The problem was that we'd asked for half spicy, half regular and received only spicy. The other disappointment was the coleslaw. It didn't taste like any other coleslaw I've had and I do mean that in a bad way. I can't quite put my finger on it, it just didn't taste good. Other than that, food was fantastic, service on point and location itself newer and clean. Best fried chicken around and the prices are great if you get their monthly $5 specials. I love their mild and blackened strips, fries and cajun rice best. This location is one of the few that has onion rings, they are awesome, huge portion and cheap, get the. Since the chicken is made to order, expect to wait 10 minutes, but it's always worth it and fresh. One of the better places to eat in Oceanside, wish I had a location closer to me. read more

Rude, bad customer service ever! We came to to pick up our online order seeing a lot of honey bags so I took them out leaving on the cashier desk to return and asked to have some ketchup instead! I can't figure out why this place doesn't have better reviews! We were ordering food online with the Popeyes app, but for some reason they did not have the mashed potatoes and gravy option and that is our favorite! Anyway, I decided to call the store directly and talked with Marilyn about our dilemma. She kindly said she would wait on the phone and we could place our order, but being we could only choose between coleslaw, red beans and rice, and biscuits, she suggested we choose one of those and she would manually substitute the mashed potatoes and gravy. So I chose a large coleslaw, let her know we wanted the mashed potatoes and gravy instead, and all went well without a hitch! It is frustrating that there wasn't an option to choose mashed potatoes and gravy, but the fact that Marilyn stepped up to accommodate our order, left us very impressed. Bad customer service! I ordered through the drive thru, the lady taking my order didn't ask me what size sides I wanted and automatically just assumed we wanted smalls. When I pulled up to pay and asked her nicely what size the sides were and asked if she could change them to large she told the other 2 employees and they started bad mouthing me in spanish thinking I wouldn't understand. They then proceeded to make fun of me getting 3 Large sides.
