We had been waiting at a table for about 20 minutes when I got up to go see what the hold up was. The employee at the register who rung us up had an attitude and seemed annoyed stating they were still waiting on the food. I didn't say anything and just returned to my seat hoping that would be enough to get their attention. They weren't apologetic at all about the delay and offered no explanation either. So when I went to Popeyes for lunch, I ordered a 5 piece spicy chicken tenders. They asked what side I wanted and I said an extra biscuit because the meal already comes with one. I have done this multiple times without a problem, but they refused so I just got fries. Then, I was asked what drink I wanted and I said Coke Zero. The menu sure has changed since I was in a Popeyes. Gone are the shrimp Po-boy and onion rings. A shrimp Po-boy is a New Orleans staple and what I associate with their "Louisiana Kitchen" slogan. But at least they still serve shrimp. I ordered the Popcorn Shrimp and Red Beans & Rice as my side. I will say they fulfilled my tray with everything I needed including a cup lid and straw plus they asked me if I want honey or jelly for my biscuit. The shrimp were not too small as you might think considering they were the popcorn style. The menu says you get a quarter pound so the serving size was adequate. The taste was different from what I remember but still good. The red beans were not too spicy for me like they used to be. And the biscuit was excellent. I did not visit the restroom. And when I got home it was still warm and delicious. This location is a little tight so even though there is ample parking you can still get blocked in. But as usual the chicken was awesome. Fries are some of the best out there. Biscuit are good. I don't eat Mac and cheese but my wife said it was some of the best she had had. Placed a carry out order, in store, for their $6, 2-pc meals. They were out of slaw, so I ordered one meal with fries and red beans & rice, and the other meal with mashed potatoes with red beans & rice. My husband ate the 4 pcs of chicken because I wasn't hungry, but I tasted the beans and rice after he complained they tasted terrible. They were not good. My husband and I went to Popeyes's in Plainfield on Saturday afternoon, we were so impressed with the food the chicken was fresh and seasoned which the chicken is usually bland, the macaroni and cheese were awesome so much so we went back the next day which was Sunday (yesterday). I tipped him and complimented his food, then I proceeded to order a $47 order all fresh to get home, the chicken was dry and bland, Mac and cheese tasted like starch no taste just disgusting! I returned to Popeye's as I had heard they had a new spicy fish sandwich similar to the chicken sandwich. I saw a huge drive thru line so I went inside. Luckily the inside is open to carry out orders. The wait inside was only one person at lunch. I saw the fish sandwich on the menu board which was in better shape than my last visit. I ordered the combo but went with rice and beans instead of fries. I got my order quickly and took it home to eat. I think I heard them say the dinning area would be opened again in March. The sandwich was amazing easily the best fast food fish sandwich. The spice is in the breading vs sauce so it is even flavor. It's not too spicy either. The fish quality was good as well very good texture and not mushy. Cooked just right too. Bun is great too. Soft not dry tasted fresh. Beans and rice was pretty good too. I just wish they gave you a bit larger serving for a side. The pop machine was out of diet so I had to get the workers to get one in the drive thru machine. Not sure why they let all the diets run out so hence a point lower on my review. But again the fish sandwich is awesome. read more

We've always had pretty good experiences with this Popeye's location. During our most recent visit, we ordered the 12 piece family meal (mild for us weenies). It came with two "large" sides as well as six biscuits. The entire order was ready for us in less than five minutes. The chicken was fresh and hot. Our sides were on the small side for what I would consider adequate for a family meal. The buttermilk biscuits were just plain awesome! The staff was friendly. They all seemed to enjoy their jobs. My issue is while waiting at the window I had an unobstructed view of the gentleman who was making the food. While he was wearing Popeyes attire his pants were pulled down COMPLETELY below his ass. Not only is "too much information", I find it to be disrespectful and unprofessional. You would think if these guys knew the origin of sagging they might think twice.. but maybe not. The service at this restaurant is beyond deplorable. I have been here about a dozen times and I have never once been satisfied with the experience. They never fill the large sides full. They're usually around two thirds filled. Once I ordered an extra large gravy (of which they did not include and I had to go back for) and I got a large cup with about a tablespoon of gravy in it and was charged $3.99. I usually have a big order and they always short me several items. I usually order spicy chicken tenders. While I usually do like the chicken it doesn't really taste very spicy. What's not to love about Popeye's!!! As long as it is fresh then you got a great meal. So glad they came to the area. Recently visited the newest Popeye's Chicken in Plainfield, IN. I have to admit I broke my golden rule of waiting 30 days to try a new restaurant. That being said, this location is right on track with what I expected out of Popeye's. I simply love their southern-style Louisiana spicy offerings. The chicken tender family 16 piece, 3 large sides, and a dozen biscuits comes in around $30. The shrimp Po boy, minus the mayo (I don't do mayo), is a nice lunch or dinner item. Not much to say on the food - menu and quality are the same as any other Popeye's I've ever been to. Just wanted to write this review to say how impressed I was with the service here. I stopped by to pick up some food to take home for the family and happened to be there at the same time a few larger groups all came in too. The place was packed, the line was backed up, and it seemed to be all they could do to keep up with the food.
