I should have known better when I pulled up and there was a skinny girl in shorts tucked into a space around from the main entrance. When I got out there was the smell of weed and a kid in a popeyes uniform stuck his head out with his pipe and waving at people in the drive thru. He wasn't even hiding it. I got in the restaurant and ordered. I was waiting a while for my food when the kid, apparently on break came back to make my sandwich. Sad to see all the negative reviews here. They're doing the best they can, ESPECIALLY with the temporary nationwide FRENZY that's been created for their chicken sandwich. Ok, ok... I confess, I also fell victim to the recent "hullaballoooo" over Popeye's chicken sandwich, and decided to see what all the fuss was about. Actually, it's pretty good, but the wait here is terrible. I don't really think it's the fault of this particular location, they were doing the best they could, but I think they have a pretty slow order "prep" process. Like most fast food places, they also seem to attend first to their drive-thru customers, no matter how long the folks in the dining room have been waiting. I don't know if they prepare very small batches of chicken at a time, if they were missing some people, or the success of the chicken sandwich is just more than they can handle, but you CAN'T come here if you're in a rush. I waited nearly 20 minutes at 7pm on a weeknight... The sandwich was pretty good, order was correct, the cashier was apologetic, but unless I really have time to KILL, I probably won't be back any time soon. Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - THIS is what all the fuss is about?!? - Fast Food Near Me - Springfield, Ohio

I haven't posted in quite a while. Mainly because I'd hate to seem negative about eating out during this time, when there's not a lot of in house dining and fast foods are pretty much uneventful. Yet tonight, my granddaughter and my husband thought Popeyes would be a nice change of pace. We typically steer clear of too much grease and battered foods like this but everyone needs to splurge once in a while! Well, it definitely was worth it! We live on the opposite side of town, but you can reach any destination in my town in about 10 min, no matter where you're at! I do think it's a deterrent to some people, who won't travel across town to do anything! Honestly, if they moved Popeyes's to the north side of town those lazy bums would flock to the restaurant! Which tells you how we felt about going there tonight. We planned on going inside to order, but a sign posted said that only the drive thru is available. We wanted to check out the menu without holding any cars up behind us. Luckily, it wasn't busy. We had a large order because my granddaughter asked if I'd get extra for tomorrow for lunch, so I expected our order to be inaccurate! Well, it wasn't, and it was all hot and fresh. Well I probably would have been happier if I went to Lee's or KFC. Some poor pigeon sacrificed its life so that a chicken might roam free. I thought I was getting the 2 can dine for $8.99. What I received was a snack for two without a drink and bring your own plate and plastic warehouse. It was supposed to have 2 Legs, 1 thigh 1 wing and 1 breast. What I got was 2 small legs? 2 small wings and 1 small thigh. Did I mention my chicken pieces were small? They were also cold. Not friged but not hot by any stretch of the imagination. I ordered a classic chicken sandwich combo with red beans and rice. The food was decent, the service was reasonable. My issue is that when ordering, the person working the drive thru asked if I wanted a regular or large drink. Not wanting a lot to drink and not wanting to pay extra, I chose a regular sized drink, thinking that is what comes with the combo. When I paid, the combo price was $.50 more than on their menu board. Asking why, I was told that the combo comes with a small drink but they are told to ask if we want a regular or large. So I paid $.50 more for a drink that was based on the deception that the management instructs their employees to use on their customers. I hope the management enjoys that $.50, because they aren't getting any more money from me. read more

9/22/23: The S. Limestone Popeyes is very inconsistent with the rotations of the freshness of their food. If I ask a question I rarely is back a proper attitude. The customer service is NOT good. I'm not saying that everyone there has bad customer service, but some of the can be very rude. Another thing is almost every single time, they forget something!!! There's been times where I've wanted to fix something, and they don't, "feel like" fixing it. In general yes the food isn't bad, yes you're still getting Popeyes flavors, but the respect here is gone. read more

Started out as a good visit to this restaurant. Young man at counter greeted us very friendly like, asked how we were doing and asked if he could help us. Ordered the special, 10 piece chicken with two large sides and 5 biscuits. We ordered the mild chicken and he asked the back how long on regular chicken and response was "5 minutes". We paid for our meal ($24.99 - not a bad price,got our receipt and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. 20 minutes after we placed our order, we asked how much longer it would be and was told "2 minutes". 5 minutes later we watched the chicken placed in the hot rack. Instead of giving us the fresh, hot chicken we got 2 Luke warm breasts, 2 Luke warm thighs 1 Luke warm leg and the rest from the hot fresh chicken. Not once did they offer an apology or ask if they could get us anything. Well got the food home, don't care at all for the coke slaw, tasted like it had a dill relish in it, didn't care for the mashed potatoes, but the biscuits and chicken were good. It was our first (well kinda second - our first and last time) visit to Popeyes. We will not be back. Guess I'm not liking Louisiana cooking too much. I will say the chicken was better then from the other southern state (south of Ohio). I can't in all earnestness recommend Popeyes. read more

Food came out correct, that is the best I can say. However the the drive-thru staff was rude and didn't pay attention. The lids weren't on the drinks completely causing the water and lemonade to spill on the side and inside of our vehicle. No apology. Just an oooops and a chuckle. I placed a catering order for my family reunion. I got 75 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and biscuits for $140. Very economical. This feeds 30 people. I called 2 days in advance to make sure my order would be ready. When I arrived on Saturday, my food was waiting for me. I can't remember the mangers name but he was cordial and very helpful. He even had 2 employees carry the meal to my car. If you want an easy catering option, Popeyes is the way to go. read more

Jambalaya wasn't good at ALL. Wait time was HORRIBLE, there was one girl named Jennifer up front who was busting her ass to get our and a few others orders out while the manager (short black girl) was walking around with ear buds in, walking out to smoke, sitting on her phone, doing NOTHING! There was another girl in drive thru that was sitting on her ass, wiping the same thing out, and was on her phone instead of helping. My fiancee and I sat inside Popeyes for 15 minutes before we had our order taken. There were three people in front of us, and no one in drive. The girl (Jennifer) did an amazing job, was trying her hardest, and was the only one doing their job!! Ok. So Our family loves Popeyes chicken. Unfortunately this location has the worst service. Half the time they are out of chicken and the other half my order is wrong. Tonight I chose not to check my order after they bagged it. When I got home I realized the chicken was completely wrong. So I drove back and let them know. They gave me new chicken but it was more of an interruption to them. Also, the signs on the kitchen entrance are extremely distasteful and someone that knows English should write them and post them in an area for employees only. Better yet, how about some better communication with your employees then maybe you wouldn't need the sign. Two stars because I love the food. Love eating here, however, it seems most of the staff there doesn't want to be there and they are extremely rude. It makes for an uncomfortable trip and you just feel like you're inconveniencing them by ordering your food. I love Popeye's chicken...and for the first couple of years I would have given it good feedback. Lately as I stop for my chicken fix I am disappointed most times and others just pull away with no chicken. I also have been told on several occasions that they are out of chicken. OUT OF CHICKEN? Wait..it's 4 in the afternoon and you are out of chicken? The drive through menu is basic..never any specials. It's nasty looking now with parts falling off. I have asked about deals I see advertised on TV to be told no, we don't have that. Is this a independently owned place or corporate owned? Springfield Popeyes is very good. Their chicken is always warm and tasty. I usually get the 3 piece tender chicken combo. Staff is nice and gives you your food very quickly. It is surprisingly a bit pricey for fast food. Panera pricing at best. Overall good place to get chicken and biscuits. read more
