I've read all of the contrary reviews, and the only thing I can say is that my experience at the Buckeye Lodge was quite favorable. I thought the food was very good, service excellent, bar staff attentive, management welcoming. My wife and I visited there for the first time last night in support of a friend, who was performing music there with his band. We arrived two hours early so that I could scope out a good location to shoot video of his set. My wife came over directly from work, so we decided to dine there, even though there was a big pot of my fabulous green chile pork stew sitting in the pressure cooker at home. My wife ordered a burger -- I forget which one, but it was pretty hefty and came equipped with a beer cheese that she absolutely raved about. I ordered a Cuban pork sandwich. The last time I had a good one was in Miami 8 years ago, and I believe most would agree that that's a long time to go without Cuban pork. The sandwich was excellent! I needed a doggy bag, though... because of... *those fries*. And I ain't big on carbs. Fries are generally an annoyance to me that usually go cold and remain on the plate when the waiter brings the check. But these were damned good fries. Beer-battered (somehow), and I will not rest until obtain their recipe. They're really that good! Couldn't stop eating them. And, oh yes -- their buffalo wings are also mighty fine appetizers. Mind you, my wife and I are food snobs who believe that our mastery of recipes are superior to most local restaurant fare, although that's not hard to do in Springfield, a town where Frisch's Big Boy and Golden Corral are considered a good night out by some (and too many). I think Raul(?) was our server. He didn't hover to such a degree that we wanted him to just go away, but he was there when we needed him. Hats off to the server. Every time I visited the bar, I was waited on within scant minutes. Hats off to the bartender that night. The manager came by to introduce himself to us. His wife sat down with my wife and conversed with her for almost a half-hour during a break in my friend's set. They genuinely seem to care about each individual customer experience. Great place for drinks and food. The atmosphere is laid back and there is no riff raff in the place.

Good food, nice bars up stairs and down, tons of space! Awesome place to watch sports! I recommend this place for large groups. Expect a longer than normal wait for food to be delivered to your table. Overall, a good experience! read more

Stopped in on a Friday evening. August 2020. Last call was at 10 PM because of the pandemic. Ordered food at 8:30 food arrived around fairly quick. We both had hamburgers and the soup of the day. Food was good service was prompt and polite. read more

This place is great! The staff here is incredibly nice and take very good care of you. You must be a member to get in after 2pm but they will usually buzz you in anyway. The food is awesome and the burgers are very good. In the morning the have a great breakfast as well and is very cheap. I recommend this place if your just want to relax and hangout and enjoy their many good beers. read more

Used to be my favorite place to dine as a member with my family. Upstairs is awesome! But now they don't use it. Unless there is a special event. This was the best place in town to have dinner. Now they don't even utilize it! I don't think I will renew my membership. Prices are not wallet friendly either but was worth it in the past. Now service and food isn't even as good. This is supposed to be a "members only" lodge type of club. There are no perks to being a member. At times, areas of the "lodge" are closed to paying members while nonmembers have full access. This causes members to wait longer for service while paying the same prices as the nonmembers. Buckeye needs to make up it's mind as to what it wants to be. Also, the best servers and bartenders seem to be leaving. read more

The menu hasn't changed much since they've opened. Very few choices. The turnover of servers will make your head spin hence the terrible and slow service. Not too many of them understand "customer service". read more

Well me and my husband went here on a friends request. I really wish we had stayed home! The food here is just the regular frozen junk you get at Walmart. The liquor is cheap, and depending on the bartender it is watered down. The other thing I do not like about this place is the clinentel, they are stuck up and snobbish! First thing people need to be aware of is that this is a private club. We did not know this before we went but were still welcomed and served. The bartender was nice enough to persuade us to stay and even give us a meal free for staying! The service was great and so was the food. Their burger was very filling and flavorful and the atmosphere was friendly. This was an experience that allowed us to understand what the small town of Springfield was all about. read more

Went there for lunch today as per a recommendation from others in the area. I thought the atmosphere was great. The patrons sitting at the bar did not seem friendly but the bartender was nice. Although she was nice, she was inexperienced. She was talking out loud regarding what she needed to do next and couldnt keep up well. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and a bowl of potato soup. The Buckeye Sports Lodge is a great place for a casual breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Haven't had a disappointment with any of my meals. Servers are friendly and accurate with orders. The WORST service ever. Our large group called in advance saying we only had a 2 hour window in between games. They said "no problem." Took us 2 hours to just get out food. When we asked for manager she said she was the manager. We tried to complain but went on deaf ears. Never discounted our bills or made an apology. Good wasn't the best! read more
