If you've been to other Popeye's restaurants, you'll probably notice that the food at this location lacks flavor and seasoning compared to the others. The chicken is okay, passable, but bland. The tenders are almost tasteless. If you don't dip them in one of their sauces, it's disappointing. The pictures attached to this review show you the difference between the wings Popeye's advertise and what they serve you IRL. The worst offender on their menu is their biscuit. It's so dry and hard that it might as well be a doorstop. I can't imagine anyone eating those. There is also a problem with items being out of stock, and you can't buy a big box of chicken at this location. I've never met a polite staff member at this location. They sound annoyed when you order, and they lack the incredible care and manners of Chick-fil-A or Cane's. They are an amateur team that shouldn't be running a restaurant that serves our community. The last issue to raise is the price. It is expensive beyond what it should be for low-quality food and rude service. With so many chicken options in St. Cloud, I can't imagine one reason to go back to Popeye's. read more

I don't eat chicken, but my husband does. He had the 5 piece, dirty rice, and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese isn't baked, so I didn't want any. The dirty rice was decent and my husband said his chicken was really great. I wanted shrimp, but they didn't have any or any apple pie. They really need to stock up. This has the best fast food chicken around! I got the three piece meal only a few days after they opened (the line went around the block!) and it was excellent. The breading was crisp and the meat, even the breast meat, was juicy and cooked perfectly. The sides are nothing to write home about, but the do have corn on the cob, which I like. Their apply pie with cinnamon was pretty good. Recommended for fast food. read more

when I got to the restaurant there was a dead squirrel right next to the car. so I had to step over it and it smelled pretty bad. when we got our food my seat had a weird dead bug on it so had to scrape it off with my shoe. but other than that the food was good and the service was pretty good. read more

I could tell you that the chicken here is different and sucks worse than every other Popeyes I've eaten at which is all true but not what I'm gonna do. I've kept holding off complaining about the food here and hoping it gets better. It won't. But anyways. I order with coupon 5 piece dark, 2 sides, 2 biscuits, they give me 4 legs, the 1thighs, one wrong side. The receipt read 2 thighs, 3 legs, 1 wrong mash potato's supposed to be mac&cheese, the correct red/bean. I took photos and the night managers offers me to comeback with reciept and get my thigh and mac&cheese which would cost me another $10 to get there. Don't go there. read more

My first experience with Popeyes was driving hours to try their chicken and see how it compared to KFC. It was a fun trip and the chicken really did taste well. Saint Cloud... now I have not visited Popeyes in years and wanted to look up the menu so I downloaded the app. The app uses your location, guides you to the stores. After I created an account I noticed that it had an "Offers" button. I was excited because I was going to order chicken for a friend as well so I figured that I would order a meal and they had options for that. I get to the drivethru speaker only to hear that they do not take those coupon codes. This is false advertising and thus that button should be labeled the "Scam" button. Completely INAPPROPRIATE service! I ordered online an HOUR AHEAD for residents at assisted living. I order at 10:20am and had the pick up time listed for 11:20am. I get there and the guy greets me by saying that I'm supposed to order in person. And they make food when I get there. I tell him that is not what it said online. I explain to him the large order for a group of more than 20 people was for assisted living. He goes then to tell me again that I'm supposed to wait and things don't come immediately. I explain, yeah but I ordered ahead. He then brings half the order out and tells me I have to wait for the other half. Which was handed to me 25 minutes after the first half. When he comes to hand me the last half he Finally at least say sorry. And then changes his story from telling me I have to wait and order in person to at least say it's a new location. Yeah but you argued with me 3 times that I should have done something different before acknowledging. And handed me half of the food a half an hour after the first batch. Was offered zero coupon or comp etc. from the servers working at the time. Food good. This is a new location, super busy at peak times. The spicy chicken sandwich was as delicious as the commercial claims. The chicken tenders were dry, a little tough and bland. The red beans and rice was pretty good. The mac and cheese was about as good as generic boxed kind you could get at a grocery store and make at home. The cole slaw was ok. The biscuits were tough and cold. I've been to other locations around the U.S. and the sides were better. The people there were friendly and efficient. I will go back, my go-to will be the spicy sandwich and red beans and rice. read more

I asked for a refund and she offered me the sandwich or a refund for the price of it. Could've all been fixed if they had just redone the combo. Rude and will no longer get my money. I want everyone to know I've eaten Popeyes before in other cities. So when I saw it opened in St. Cloud, I wanted to support. The drive thru line was very short(6-7 cars out the drive thru) on a Monday afternoon. I purchased the 3 wing combo (mild)with coleslaw, popcorn shrimp with 1 piece(spicy) with Cajun fries, 1 chicken sandwich(spicy), and an extra side of mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side. My order came out correct. The wings had little to no flavor. The spicy chicken, the sandwich, and popcorn shrimp were ok. All the sides were just ok.... and that's fine for fast food. If I want excellent wings I can fry my own but if I don't have time, Kwik Trip is still king in this area. read more

I was so glad Popeyes opened in St Cloud and have been there multiple times. I will not go again because they refused a Popeyes gift card that I received from my children for a gift. Popeyes already has their money all I want is there product in returned and they did not accept. No where on their menu boards does it say they do not accept the card. The gentleman verified his order & sides then asked if we wanted anything else. I then placed my order for a drink, Mac n cheese, & a biscuit. Our food came...a drink, chicken sandwich, Mac n cheese, & a biscuit. Not all there so I asked for my drink cup. I was told I never ordered a drink & it'd be $2.79. Since they didn't have what I wanted, I went to speedway next store to get a drink, & some straws. When I came back, the fries still didn't come. When I went up to ask about them, they told me that's not what I ordered. The female manager/supervisor on duty said we ordered our food wrong & wouldn't be getting it. It now turned into a complaining match, words were exchanged since not only did I not get ALL of my food, I wouldn't be getting refunded. Lunch now ruined, told to "F" off by the manager & that we don't understand because they can't get help...way to treat people like crap...could that be why?! This is the worst Popeye's I have ever gone to. The lady working the window copped an attitude when we attempted to use a code for a coupon on the phone. This is the third week they have been open and their excuse is that "They are a new location, so their system is down." Not worth the long line wait. I was excited when I heard Popeyes was coming to St. Cloud. Like most new places that open in St. Cloud I knew it was going to be busy, long drive through lines etc. that being said I've gone twice now, ordered the spicy strips both times. I have been disappointed both times. I feel the "spicy" strips are not at all spicy, normally going to a Popeyes you can see seasoning on the chicken. Went through the drive through and ordered 3pc meal with paying extra for a all white meat and fries. Got back to home and it was not all white meat and on top of that no fries.
