3 tenders meal + 4 pieces of dark chicken
    Selina C.

I used to go to the Popeyes location at Yonge and Dundas, and I can tell that this Danforth location is WAY BETTER than the other location I've been to. They provide good service, listen to your order, give you the RECEIPT, serve you the food in a reasonable amount of time, and actually get your order RIGHT. We ordered the 3 tenders meal (side of slaw) and 4 pieces of dark chicken. Food was yummy and we really appreciated it. If it wasn't because of the distance, we would go back again. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Price: 3.75/5 - same as all Popeyes

It really piqued my interest so I gave it a try and I can definitely say I will be back to try their other offerings. When I stepped in, the staff members were incredibly friendly and asked if this was my first time at their establishment (which of course it was). The gentleman then gave me a crash course on the food and an explanation on why their product is so great. I could not help but sense just how passionate and confident the gentleman was in their product so I was really excited to try the food (it also did not hurt that I got a sample of the jerk chicken). I ordered the Pattylicious which is a beef/chicken patty stuffed with jerk chicken, coleslaw, cheese and house sauce. Overall I thought it was pretty good. The chicken was not at all dry like some other places I have tried and you can definitely taste the spices. It also had a little kick which surprisingly lasted a while after I had finished the food (a plus in my books). I have a bad habit of ordering too much food so I really held back to just the one item here. I will have to return soon to try their other offerings and I definitely recommend trying this place if you are ever in the area.

Back in the day, Shoppers World did not have this building on the southwest corner of Victoria Park and Danforth Avenues. I would walk across the lot coming from Victoria Park subway station to get to the mall. This building has Church's Texas Chicken, Ritz Caribbean Foods, Real Fruit Bubble Tea, Halibut House, and this Burger King. I am slowly visiting each eatery. I've been to Church's. I can now add Burger King. Last Saturday, I came here after a concert. I parked in front of Metro and placed my order online on Burger King's site. I had recently signed up for Royal Perks. You earn points that are called crowns. You can redeem your crowns for food. Nice! I ordered these items: - Classic melt - Half-sies - Medium Diet Coke - Gary's strawberry swirl sundae The first three items comprised my classic melt combo. The last one is a part of the SpongeBob collaboration with Burger King. I paid online. I got an estimated time for my food to be ready. When it was time, I headed over to the drive-thru, which is next to Halibut House. This BK is open 24 hours. It was doing steady business on a Saturday night. I waited at the drive-thru. I got a friendly female voice. I let her know that I had an order under my name. She found it and said that I could pull up. I got my food and order. I thanked her. I then parked near Metro again to eat. It was my first time ordering a classic melt. The caramelized onions made me say yes to it. I will say that this melt was super messy to eat because the caramelized onions were diced and kept sliding out of the melt. They fell onto the wrapper that was on my lap with each bite. I liked the toasted bread with the two flame-grilled Whopper Junior patties. It had stacker sauce with melted cheese. The onions were on top of the melted cheese, but didn't stick to it. Despite the mess, this classic melt was delicious. It was the perfect size for my 10:30 pm hunger pangs. I got Half-sies, which consists of fries and onion rings. I loved both. I got the best of both worlds. The fries were yummy and long. The onion rings were sweet and crispy. My Diet Coke washed everything down. I liked that it was cold and fizzy. Gary's strawberry swirl sundae was supposed to be vanilla soft serve topped with strawberry fudge, and purple and blue shortbread cookie pieces. Instead, I got a regular strawberry sundae. I was disappointed that I didn't get what I had ordered However, I always love the strawberry sundae at BK. It did hit the spot. I do need to order Gary's version elsewhere, though. I ended up getting a bonus 5000 crowns on this order. I'm not sure if I got this bonus because it was my first purchase, but I'll take the crowns! I had a good experience. I'd return for more good eats when I'm in the area. (24)

The guy serving us was probably the owner because he was friendly and knowledgeable, he let me try the sauces I was questioning about. This place is a definite must-try. The place has a few spots to eat, and the decor is beyond adorable and fitting. I couldn't get enough of the potato puns. The gentleman was incredibly nice in explaining what the top favs were and was even nice to allow me to add an ingredient, as one of my spuds had something removed (no coleslaw for me). My order consisted of Mexican Fiesta and Nashville Chick. My husband took his Mexican fiesta potato as is, but I ended up switching my pulled chicken for fried chicken. The potatoes were amazing! The base potato was so flavourful and not bland at all, evenly seasoned on its own without the toppings. The toppers were delicious and went well with the spud. It hasn't even been a week, and I'm already jonesing for my next potato bar experience.

Upon entering, the mix of greens, woods, and spacious seating was very inviting. However, the service was just decent. Now, let's talk about the food. I was disappointed with the size of the chicken wings compared to other places I've been to. The fries were okay but lacked a punch in flavour. As for the wings, I tried the BBQ bases, KBBQ, and Hickory Smoked BBQ. Despite being advertised with a bit of 'heat,' I could hardly taste any. The dipping sauce was also quite runny compared to the thicker consistency I prefer. Overall, I was a bit let down after all the hype on social media. Many say the U.S. locations are better. It doesn't hurt to try, but there are other wing places that I'd prefer.

The soft opening was 2022-11-17 and grand opening will be on 2022-11-26. On grand opening day, the first 100 customers will get a 6-piece wing combo (worth $14.99). There were 4 of us for dinner. We ordered the following (combos come with fries and a drink). Most wings come with a choice of 2 flavours (except the Tenders only have 1 flavour choice) ranging from not spicy up to 5 flames. 1. Tenders Combo ($12.99) with Honey Garlic. 2. Classic Wings Combo ($14.99) with Spicy Korean Q and Hawaiian. 3. Boneless Wings Combo ($14.99) with Hickory Smoked BBQ and Lemon Pepper. 4. Mixed Wings Combo ($14.99) with Mango Habanero and Louisiana Rub. 5. Cajun Fried Corn ($6.99). 6. Triple Chunk Brownie ($2.99) x 2. With the 4 combos, we chose the following fries and drinks: - Fries: regular, Cajun, parmesan, voodoo. - Drinks: Iced Tea, Root Beer, Fanta x 2. The wings are regular-sized, not the larger buffalo-sized. All the flavours we chose were delicious. We were surprised that the fries were full-sized with the combo, not a smaller amount that I would expect with a combo. I loved the voodoo fries. The 4 combos were more than enough for 4 of us; we had to take home the equivalent of 2 fries and 2 Brownies. The corn was nice - I could have eaten a lot more! I heated a Brownie in a microwave and it was delicious. The staff is so courteous and helpful. There is plenty of indoor seating. The restaurant is clean. The interior is tastefully decorated. I like the lit-up circular centerpiece saying "Danforth". There is no free WiFi (but there will be in the future). The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms but they are not wheelchair accessible. There are high chairs for young kids. There is paid and free neighbourhood parking. Review 2022-128
