I came here during lunch on a weekday and it was a zoo. I ate inside but I could see a line of cars outside. Staff seemingly didn't care about the appearance of the restaurant (tables were dirty, napkins were empty, etc.) or getting food out quickly. The food was OK. I was surprised that the drive-through wasn't as crowded as it usually is for a midday 12 -12:30 pick up. Popeye's has the best fast food fried chicken IMO and the cajun fries are seasoned well. While our food was good and the staff were friendly to us, it took a long time to get our order because the staff were arguing with other customers. Both the staff and the customers were rude to one another and could not seem to work through the conflict like adults. We were driving through Troy yesterday and decided to get food at Popeyes. It's always been one of my favorite spots if we were in that area as the food was always really good. We got two combo meals cost us $35 and it was awful. The chicken was so over fried that the crust on it flaked off it the chicken was also dry and bland. The biscuits used to have a little pieces of butter baked through it they were just regular little biscuits so over baked that they were hard as a rock. The seasoned fries looked seasoned, but didn't taste it. They were very bland also. The coleslaw had a weird taste to it. The only thing that was OK was the potatoes and gravy. Was not good at all for the price we paid. I could've had a sit down dinner in a restaurant such as Chili's or Applebee's for that price, won't eat there again. read more

I've been in three times of late because it is located near my new job. I hadn't been to Popeyes in over a year since I moved to the Capital District because there isn't one near me. I always come inside because the drive thru line is always into the street blocking traffic. The staff is always super friendly, helpful and just seem to enjoy their job. The food is always fresh. I always get the spicy chicken and it is delicious. I also get the red beans and rice and biscuits with honey. This Popeyes never disappoints read more

Apparently on January 1st of this year they switched up their policy and instead of providing you with enough French fries to feed your family with six children they now only give you approximately one French fry per child. Others in line tried them into selling them with no luck. There was a good line. Today my plan was to head to Troy and my timing was perfect between opening and lunch. No line hurray! I new it looked good as I pulled into the parking lot because the lot wasn't crowded. PERFECT! Since no Popeyes is close to me I decided to order a few of those sandwiches. A couple of spicy ones for me and a couple for others in my family. I would say they were a great size, bigger than I expected and very tasty. The perfect sandwich to bun radio, sauce and a extra good flavor with the crunchy pickle slices. I definitely can see why the craze. Popeyes is a great place to go to get fried chicken. I prefer the spicy chicken which always satisfies. Cajun fries can get a bit soggy in that enclosed container but flavor is good. Biscuits are great when fresh. Sides are OK. Wish they would bring back the cajun rice. Staff are nice and friendly. Can be a bit chaotic at times when lines are long. Not the best setup for drive thru when cars line up into the side street...but with pandemic waning perhaps lines won't be as long? Traffic can be a bit congested on Hoosick St. read more

Very seldom do they get your order correctly. I have been there several times sometimes the order has something wrong with it. Not all the time who wants to get all the way home to discover they have given you all dark meat and you clearly ordered mixed or instead of getting 10 piece you short chicken. I am a military veteran and they always gave a military discount. When I went to give them the card this time they told me they did not give the discount any longer. When I asked why they told me there is a new owner and he does not give military discount. I don't want to sound prejudice but everyone in the entire restaurant working were not white or black They looked either Pakistan or Indian.. The smile that the manager had on his face when he told me he no longer gave military or police or firemen discounts was nothing less than a very large smile. I took my meal and I left and when I got home the chicken was all overcooked and unusually greasy. Normally the chicken over there is absolutely delicious. Needless to say I will not be returning to this location for anything at all. What sticks in my head the most is the big smile that the manager had on his face when he told me the new owner did not offer these discounts any longer. We decided to try the infamous Popeyes. Always heard so much about it and great things so we decided to order ahead. We got 10 tenders half buffalo half cajan with a side of fries and beans. And our first disappointment was having to sit in long traffic to pick up the food through the drive thru. Oh and we got a gallon of sweet tea as well. When we got home the fries were chewy and cold and the chicken (all ten pieces) had absolutely no flavor. All it tasted like was grease. Couldn't even tell the difference which was which. That to me, was completely odd! And for the beans they were cold and had a strange taste to them. I did however, give them the 2 stars bc the sweet tea was good. The drive-in for this location is a nightmare. You have cars coming from two different directions and the service is SLOW!!!! It's almost like they're making it as you order. 30 minutes in line is a lot to ask for a customer going to a fast food restaurant. Fast food people. If it isn't fast, what's the point. I might as well go to a sit down diner or restaurant. I haven't been inside this location so that could very well be the case. Even though it was packed, the employees got people in and out quickly. The great thing about this restaurant is that the food is incredible. The food here is always fresh because it is so busy and my favorite item is their biscuits. They are always so buttery and tasty. The servings are huge and again the quality is great.
