We recently hosted an annual picnic for our family association, and for our main course was an old favorite, fried chicken! Although my usual "go to fried chicken" is Church's Fried Chicken, we decided on Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen because they could provide an order for 200 pieces of chicken, some sides and boxes to serve our chicken, and their price was very competitive. My biggest complaint about Popeye's was the size of their chicken pieces. Heck, I've had Cornish Hen legs and thighs that were larger than my local Popeye's offerings. But, at the picnic Popeye's Chicken was fantastic! Their chicken, legs, thighs, breast, and wings were comparable to anything KFC or Church's provides. And more important, everything tasted delicious! Although I prefer the dark meat; a drumstick or thigh, the breast was surprisingly moist and tasty! I've ordered chicken from other Popeye locations and their chicken was very disappointing. But this location must have a secret receipt! Bottom line, our family picnic was a roaring success, mainly due to the great food Popeye's provided. I would be remiss if I didn't comment on the efforts of this Popeye's location's management and employees. They performed above and beyond to ensure that we received our food order on a timely basis. Although our order was about an hour late due to some employees not coming in last Sunday, the store manager and two employees were fantastic. Had 2 mobile orders, pulled up, they were out of everything in my order...working in food myself, everything..? But okay I get it. I settle for wtv else and they then tell us they don't have the other mobile order. Thinking it was our error-- we accepted it and started driving to the next location. We're 5 mins away towards the other loc., my friend looks at the address of the order (bc she swore she placed it here), and it was at this location. So we then have to turn around, drive back, wait in the line, and tell them again "we have a mobile order for __" . They again started to say "um we don't-- what was it?" I've never been to a Popeye's before so I decided to try the one next door to the Holiday Inn Express I was staying at. I walked over so I was at the counter rather then the drive thru. The sandwich I wanted uses bacon but they did not have bacon - that ruled out my top 2 choices. I requested coleslaw for the side but the only sides they had were mashed potatoes and fries. The service and communication was horrific but I hung in there since it had been a long day. When I received my order, I went to the soft drink dispenser and all the syrups were out. They didn't even have straws! No apologies, no help, no discounts. Horrible location - avoid it!! What a dump!!!! I have already disputed the charge on my credit card. I was in physical therapy and on Fridays they have fish, I'm allergic to fish, I decided to get chicken. I went on the Popeyes app and they had a BOGO on the wing dings plus a side for $11.99. I ordered , which was honey BBQ bone in wing dings with the Mac & Cheese and two biscuits. I used DoorDash and my food arrived in 20 minutes and it was hot, steaming hot, gotta love that! The sauce was in the bottom of the container and the wing dings on top, no they were not coated in the sauce but I actually liked it like that, my biscuits were fresh and hot and buttery, I could've ate that alone with the honey. Oh I wish I could give negative numbers!! Ordered on line. Went in to pick up. A lot of drama A LOT of drama going on behind the counter. My order wasn't even pulled yet. So I waited 1) had to take one spicy bcuz they didn't have enough original 2) no mashed potatoes ready -it was 5:30 pm???wtf. 3) online let me order an item they no longer carry so bcuz I ordered online I had to get my " refund " on line - more on this later.4) the macaroni and cheese was CLD!! 5) shorted me 2 biscuits, that was no big deal bcuz I don't really need 8 hockey pucks.6) the rice could have been cooked a little longer. 7) back to the online refund- absolutely no way to talk to a human, nowhere to comment ( hence why I am here) everything was a multiple choice. This is single handedly the worst restaurant in the city. The employees are very disrespectful to their manager, who has no control at all. While the manager was telling the employees what to do they were telling her Bitch please. Dirty uniforms and all over appearance was just disgusting. I had an online order, when I arrived, I was told one minute. 28 minutes later and when I asked about the order again, I was told they have not even dropped the chicken yet. This review is about Popeyes Store 12523 at 26881 Hoover Road. I ordered 2 classic sandwiches and regular fries at 1817. I was told by Sanyah (employee) that it would be out soon. After 20 minutes, my order was still not ready. I checked on my order and was told they only had 1 functioning fryer and are in the process of making it. At this time, I was the only one inside the restaurant and all of the other customers received their order and had left. All throughout my time waiting, I overheard 4 of the female employees making disparaging remarks about the customers in a loud manner. I heard comments such as, "I don't give a **** about this job" and "these people (customers) are getting on my nerves." They have zero respect for the customers and had no problem openly stating this. In addition, most of them were on their personal phones and one of them kept entering and exiting the restaurant. I waited patiently but no one would approach the counter to give me an update on my order. This is by far the longest I have waited for a fast food order. There was zero leadership from the supervisor on duty and could care less about quality control. In fact, she would join in on the conversations instead of working. At 1850 and after waiting for 33 minutes, I decided to leave since I had an important event to go to. I was not able to get my refund since none of the employees would approach the counter. I was largely ignored for the 33 minutes I was there. Other respectable restaurants would have completed my order within 20 minutes. Popeyes needs to review who they hire at this location. I don't understand how this location gets such a low score. Besides when there's one DoorDash driver loading 4 huge bags of food inside his car, these employees work pretty quickly! Two nights ago I told them to NOT give me old chicken. I was told that they don't serve old chicken. I responded that I've been given old chicken before. This location gets a 2 SOLEY because these employees are working in a pandemic. We waited 20+ mins to order and get to the window. When we got there they gave us our drinks and asked us to pull up. We waited another 10/15mins for them to bring the rest of our order. We get home and our order is wrong. We should have looked before we drove away but after waiting 40mins for our food we were ready to get home and eat the food we paid for. We try to call the store over and over and no answer. So we drive back up to the store, sit in the drive through for another 15 mins. We tell them our order is wrong and they kept asking what was wrong with it. Wrong sizes and incorrect items. After waiting at the window for another 5mins they came back over and said "well we don't have any more fillets so idk what you want us to do"....... we just spent $20, our time & our gas to drive up here twice...... we want what we paid for??? We asked for our money to just be returned and they said "we already did" and walked off with an issue. We were WAY nicer than a typical pissed off customer would be, so for them to have had an issue is amusing on its own. Never come here!! They forgot three items on my order and when I asked the man who handed me my food if the sauce was in the bag, he lied right to my face. Got back in the car no sauce, no fries with my meal, didn't give me a large Cajun rice I ordered. Biscuits were dry, there was maybe ten shrimp in my shrimp meal. This review is strictly for the famous chicken sandwich. A few months ago, this chicken sandwich was almost an impossibility to obtain. It was most definitely all the HYPE! We have had the pleasure of trying this sandwich a few times and quite honestly, even for a chain fast food restaurant, it is really good. I'm not a fan of extra heat, so I normally order the regular sandwich and he likes a little more spice in his life, so he will order the spiced-up version of the sandwich. I would say that so far in 2021, the food is hot and fresh and the people working there are kind. I had some prior experiences that were not so great, but recently they have been really good, so I want to give credit where credit is due. The drive-through is slow, so that is still an issue, but other than that I think they've ironed out whatever quality issues were there before. If you have 25 minutes to spare, you can get a very good chicken dinner at this place. I don't know what they're doing behind the scenes, but I noticed that the person handing me the food is also checking it against the receipt to make sure the items are there, and ever since that has been happening, I have not had any issues with missing items. They did not used to do this but now they do so I think that has helped a lot. read more
