This Popeyes has got to be THE worst on the island!! I've only been about 3 times. And every time my order is wrong. Today took the cake! First off whoever is on the intercom has issues hearing. 2nd, I asked for a 2 pc meal. Breast and leg. Instead I got what looks like a dried thigh, and the leg of a baby chicken (it was the side of my thumb). Both pieces looked dry and old. Paid 10.50 for this trash. Popeyes on Schofield do better!!! I just Order 3 piece tender mild combo. Gave me 5 piece spicy tender combo. At drive through I noticed drink was a Powerade not a sweet tea that I ordered gave it back then gave me my food. For what would be considered "Fast Food", this has the best homemade flavors and appearance to it. The taste is incomparable to any other Chicken joint on Island. KFC is too salty and expensive, Huli-Huli stands are not clean, expensive, and something anyone can make at home easily for much less. On to Schofield Barracks Popeyes Chicken... We bought a few things on base today and on the way home discovered we always keep a Popeyes coupon from the Wednesday paper in the car. There it was!!!!! We opted for the 8-piece with two side orders of mashed potatoes. We drove up and ordered the Spicy Chicken and for sides, we ordered 2 Red Beans and Rice. I wanted to re-live my days of Alabama and ordered some Sweet Tea as well. If you use your Military Credit Card (Star Card) you receive a 20% discount, and it's tax free as well. With the coupon, our regularly $26.36 meal cost ONLY $12.30. I couldn't believe it though there it was on the check. If you're military or have access to the base, make sure you stop at Popeyes for some chicken. Keep an eager eye on the Wednesday "Mid-Week" paper. Sometimes they have coupons on the address cards. Use them, pay with your Star Card, and enjoy the least expensive chicken you can get anywhere!! It tasted so good. Ok, I only had a drumstick because I'm saving it for dinner, though the drumstick was awesome! The sweet tea was sweet and tasted fresh brewed, just like I was back in Alabama again. Not a good experience, one of my 2 pc meals, had 2 Mini drummettes, with almost no meat.another portion with no meat also. So I did i get 3 pcs but what's the point of meatless chicken. Then the counter person asked if I wanted to try the cheesecake for $1 so I got 3. Only to find out that he had charged me $2 each, not only that I felt weak that night and another bowler felt the same way and he ate the cheesecake too. Another disappointed update: 4-28-17 Ordered a 16 piece meal. 6 of the pieces were no bigger than a biscuit. This has happened before. Posted some pics to show you the size of them. Spoke to a manger (Alex) and she said the workers usually give a few extras if they are small. However when I checked, I got no extra pieces. Changing the rating from 3 stars to 2 stars just cause they are still giving out small pieces. Seriously spending almost $42 for a 16 piece meal. Doesn't seem worth it for the price especially when some of the pieces is small. We always come here and majority of the times the size of the chicken is perfect. However, this time was not the case. We ordered an 11 piece chicken meal. Went home and started to pick out some pieces. And only saw 4 big pieces while the others were not much bigger than a box a jelly. Literally, atleast 6 pieces were that small. Greatly disappointed in the portion size. I spoke with a manager and was told that sometimes they do give out small chicken because that's what receive in their shipment. But how dare they give out 6 six little pieces. Maybe 1 or 2 at most, it would of been fine. Well the manager said she would give me 6 pieces of bigger chicken and 2 apple pies. So I went back to grab it. I know you don't have to try hard because your on a military base and have a customer base that don't have time to travel too far to get lunch so they are forced to eat here. I think the only reason why I come here is so that I can take my son to go play in the playhouse area. I really enjoy their tenders though and my son really likes their mac and cheese. I also love how they have refillable sweet tea. I'm sure that tea is like 50% sugar or something, but it's delicious, even more so because it's the only mainstream fast food/restaurant that I know that has it. Last year I got their turkey meal for Thanksgiving. It was juicy and had great flavor. We usually make a turkey for family, and then have a small one on the side to go with all the leftover we have. This worked out perfectly. I will definitely be getting the turkey from here again. read more

When I got home I found 3 tiny wings, 2 small drumsticks that were slightly larger than normal wing drumettes, 3 small thighs, and 2 small breasts. We had a potluck at work yesterday and I made sure that I had my potluck food hot and fresh for the lunch... my charge nurse on the other hand... not really lol! He wanted to buy fried chicken for the potluck and he asked me to make a run to Popeyes to pick up some good fried chicken. He let me borrow his truck so hey, why not?! Popeyes is next to Burger King which is also located next to the gas station on Schofield right after you enter the gate. (I forgot the name of the gate) I used the drive-thru so I wouldn't have to get out of the truck and when I arrived at 11:30AM on a Friday, there was only one car ahead of me. I saw the party packs on the menu and ordered the middle pack, but the nice employee told me they have a special of 11 pieces of chicken for $12.99. We didn't need mashed potatoes or anything so I ended up thanking her for telling me of the special and I ordered 22 pieces of spicy mixed chicken. I also ordered a side of biscuits (6) for a little over $4. Total for everything was almost $32. The food was ready when I got to the window and the employees were so nice and pleasant! Got back to work and the chicken was HOT and FRESH! Since we had SO much food we only ate ONE box of the chicken... but don't worry, we didn't waste... we saved the other box for leftovers today! I felt like I asked her a million and one questions, but yet she patiently answered all of them with a big warm smile throughout it without trying to rush me. Not all Popeye's are created equal! I'm one to usually buy Popeye's at the NEX which has left me not wanting to go to Popeye's due to their work habits and the chicken often being dry (but that will be another review). Work brought me up to Schofield recently, I was hungry and decided "Why not?" Cashier had a bit of a hang up trying to take our order, but got it right. I was served 3 large pieces of spicy chicken tenders which were juicy and had a great kick to them. They were quick to refill the sweet tea which I thought was delicious. Unlike other establishments, they were quick to provide me the sauce they forgot, and gave me extra! Yay :) My partner in crime also commented on how juicy her chicken breast was (and she doesn't usually like chicken breast). Overall, a good location with plenty of seating, unlimited refills on drinks and plenty of parking. Only downside is you have to be able to get onto Schofield (don't have to be military to eat here though). read more

This is my favorite Popeyes location. Chicken always fresh and piping hot. The sides are always super fresh and hot too. Service always good even when there's a long line at the drive through. Best part, there's ALWAYS a popeyes coupon available! yipee!! It's a little tradition of mine to always stop here on my way home after a long shopping trip at the commissary. Couponing in the commissary easily takes me three hours to get through the store. By the time i'm done, i'm starving and don't want to deal with cooking dinner for the family when I get home aside from putting groceries away. So this is my life saver! read more

Portion sizes are good. The sometimes give me more chicken then I order but the hash rounds for breakfast have absolutely no flavor. Maybe y'all should put some salt or seasoning on them? They will understand. PROs: +EASILY the best Popeye's in the aina. (Dillingham location requires a handgun license and we've gotten sick eating there. NEX location is over-priced, under-sized, and customer service is iffy.) +LARGE sizes, crispy, and fresh. For fast food chicken, this kicks KFC's a**. Different breading and flavor profile than Zippy's, but bigger and serves more than just thighs. +Cheap, at ~$3 for a BIG two pieces mixed and a biscuit with free butter/ honey/jam and free hot sauce. If you don't have the coupons, the prices are still better here than the other locations. +If you have a military Star card (but DON'T! It's the only credit card I know of that's considered a federal debt and your tax refund can be offset/taken for it...just an FOIA rant, folks) OR a military merchandise gift card (available at any exchange/post), you get an automatic 10% off your order. +Accepts credit cards +Sort-of-clean bathrooms +Diaper changer available +Free refills on sweet tea/all fountain drinks, including hard-to-find Coke Zero +Plenty of seating with pretty high turnover even when crowded--a lot of uniforms means folks eating fast as a one-armed convict and running back to work. +Kids' area with indoor play tunnels (but stink like old feet inside the tunnels--bring anti-bac wipes and boil the clothes after) +Flat screen TVs x 2, usually turned to CNN/Fox News and on silent/low volume.
