I was conducting training and had limited time for lunch so I went to the food court inside Schofield Barracks PX. I wanted a Subway sandwich but there is not one inside the food  court so my coworker suggested I try Jersey Mikes. I did not have time to check my trusty Yelp for recommendations so I went with her suggestion. This was my first time at Jersey Mikes so I was not familiar with the menu. I was scanning the menu but because it was during lunch there were other customers waiting and I felt rushed. When I got to the counter the associate asked what size bread I wanted. Again, since this is my first time, I was not familiar. I saw that they had a 'mini' and asked to see how big that was. When she showed it to me, it looked similar to a 6" or just a tad bit smaller so I chose that size. I'm not sure if they have different types of bread because I did not see any on the menu nor was I asked what kind I wanted. I was just given white bread. Undecided. I just kept my choice simple. I informed the next associate that I wanted tuna and she asked if I wanted it "Mike's Way". I did not know what that meant and when she tried to explain it to me I could barely hear her partly because of the face mask and partly because of the background noise in the food court, so I opted against it. (I later found out that "Mike's way" is basically any sandwich with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices; nothing riveting). I just selected what I wanted "Sandhya's way" added the basics and told her I also wanted avocado. She informed me that avocado would cost extra, but her tone implied that I was being cheap and probably would not want to pay extra! I think that's standard though. I don't think anywhere adds-on avocado for free!! Whatevs, when it comes to food, I pay for what I want. I want avocado and I was prepared to pay extra; I want what I want! Once my sandwich was done, the associate at the cash register asked if I needed anything else, which I didn't. So, he rung up my order and checked me out. I paid $8.72 for a mini tuna with avocado. You decide if that is expensive or not. My order was to-go but I did notice that there were plexiglass (or maybe plastic) dividers at the tables/chairs that created a barrier between customers who chose to dine-in. The entrance to the food court was locked as they were controlling entry at the main door of the PX where handwashing/ sanitizing stations are located. All the associates at Jersey Mike's wore gloves (which was standard practice for restaurants before covid anyway) but they all wore masks too. I don't recall if they had hand sanitizers available though. It took me approximately 5-10 minutes to get back. Once I was able to eat my sandwich, it was a bit soggy and was falling apart as I ate it. But, it was packed with tuna and a ton of lettuce. Overall it tasted good. read more

Mike's way, all the way. That is how you need to get your sandwich when you come here! I have only been able to come at the WORST time of the day......lunch time rush hour. Even so, the line moves fast and they got a system. IT IS NOT SUBWAY. So please remember that when you order. Ambience: It's in the Schofield PX food court. So it's pretty casual. Kiosks everywhere! This little sub shop is ALWAYS busy. That has got to show something. They must be good if there is always a line. Customer Service: You reach the counter, someone takes your order, makes your sandwich and then you pay. I haven't had any bad experiences. Food: I have never tried their hot sandwiches. My rule of thumb is to get whatever has bacon. SO I always order the club supreme, mike's way. The sub is HUGE. The Price may be a couple cents shy of $10, but the portions are made for 2 people. Overall, The line is always long, but it goes fast. Service is the same and the food portions are bigger than other sandwich shops. Would I come back? Why yes I would! read more

This is my favorite place for subs! We used to drive from Mililani to Hawaii Kai to eat at Jersey Mikes. Then in October we got one in Mililani. Just this week one opened on Schofield Barracks. So happy to live and work close to a Jersey Mike's. I've always been a fan of this restaurant. I have only ever eaten the cold subs so I can't speak to what the hot subs taste like. For the cold subs the meat and cheese is sliced right in front of you and they sure do load up on the meat. Then it's time for toppings. This is not Subway so don't expect 15 choices in toppings. I'm perfectly happy with what they have which is lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, pepperocini's, guacamole, pickles, mayo, olive oil and vinegar. I always get my sandwhiches Mike's Way which is lettuce, tomato, onions, oil and vinegar, and special seasonings. Be prepared as they douse your sandwich in vinegar and oil but it isn't too overwhelming to me. It's messy, drippy and I LOVE it! The only issue is if you don't eat it right away it can become soggy. Yes, it's an expensive sub. A regular Italian is $9.95 but it's bigger than 6 inches and in my opinion worth it. I am a healthy eater and while I have eaten a whole regular there have been times I don't get it all finished. Sign up for Shore points and you're on your way to getting a free sub. It's a sandwich shop located in the food court of the PX on Schofield Barracks. It is a pricey sandwich averages $8-10 for half the normal size. I ordered the chicken with bacon and it came with lettuce and tomato. It was a hot sandwich but I don't remember if my bread was toasted. The white bread was soft. My sandwich was good but not completely filling. They offer cold sandwiches as well with specialty meats like pastrami. Overall, I'm glad I tried it but I would choose another sandwich option in the area for the price I paid. read more

Never had jersey mikes before until I came here. I think it's better than subway, although they are pricey. I have not tried any hot subs, but the cold subs for me are the way to go. The bread is made fresh daily and having it mike's way is so good! Easy to order just pick a number and choose giant or regular. They even have a kids meal that consist of a small sub (same size as subways kids meal) with a drink and cookie. I've always had great service at this location . If you end up going n often it's worth getting into their rewards program . You get coupons in the mail and collect points towards a free sub. read more

I love this place. The bread is baked fresh daily. They give a lot of good quality meat and cheese. I've tried a few of their subs and sandwiches here, but my favorites are the philly cheesesteak (better than Charley's) and especially their Italian (better than Subways and most of these other deli places). On top of these sandwiches, this place offers some amazing fries. Its like they are double fried or something... they are super crispy. Pair the crisp warmness of the fries with a nice cold Italian sub and I'm in Heaven! If I could, I would eat here weekly! read more

I waited 40 fucking minutes for my husbands sub and mine. I understand there's a hot a cold station but 40 minutes worth of customers got their food before we did. Unacceptable. PLUS my bread was crumbling apart, I've had gluten free bread that's never done that. My husbands sandwich was WAY too salty for a chicken bacon ranch and he couldn't finish it. I literally had to pull everything off the bread because it was so dry and crumbly. Never coming here again. NEVER. If you want a good sub, go to Ohana sub in Wahiawa. The workers should change their gloves. They prepare your sandwich and they ring the register with their dirty gloves. I see them wipe their dirty gloves on their apron. And goes back to prepare the next customer's order. They are not wearing their masks. YIKES!!! read more

This is some awesome Phily cheese steak place. I always get the number 17. Classical Philly with peepers no onions on mine though, I also liked their freash bread here this is like a every other week treat for me.. the cheese they use isn't crazy process like other cheese steaks places ... the only time it's crazy like and wait is during the normal 12-2 lunch times..but that's expected.... read more

Best sub shop in town but I've been going to JM for over 10 year's so I was beyond excited when they came to Hawaii. Bread is fresh and they have a gluten free option. They slice the meat and cheese as soon as order. Mike's way is the best it's lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar, seasoning but you can get it anyway you want. The hot subs they also make when you order. Everything is so fresh! The people are awesome! You'll love this place. read more

Everyone raves about this place but to me it was just ok. I got a turkey and cheese sub and it wasn't anything special. The cheese smelt gross, the vegetables were fresh but its nothing that I can't find at subway (minus the deli meat is cut to order). Price wise, they're pretty expensive. I mean $16 for a big sub isn't exactly cheap, $9 for a regular isn't bad. The staff were friendly and patient. Tried it, but likely wont be back. read more

I'm really sick and tired of the attitude that comes from 95% of the employees at this location! It shows in your food. Just a friendly reminder it helps if you listen to your customers order in FULL so you dont need to be yelled at by multiple other employees and then make your customers sandwich wrong. This was hands down the WORST Jersey Mikes I've ever been too. I orders THREE TIMES and they still go my sandwich completely wrong. It's so annoying and i hate when people are hired that just don't care because that place isn't cheap at all to fuck up everybody's orders. read more

First time trying Jersey Mike's sub. Service was fast and smooth and everyone was really nice. I got my classic Italian to go to eat at home and half way through the delicious cold sub I found two long hairs in my sandwich. I couldn't find a number to call and complain and I don't have time to drive back today so I lost $11 on a sandwich because no way am I finishing it. Subway has never really satisfied me since I know what good subs are all about, and I do recall various places on the mainland many years ago that were great (and still are for sure). You can always put good ingredients on a sub, but the bread is always of supreme importance. My first sub at the new Kapolei location recently was disappointing in that the bread was sub-par. Plain white bread is all it tasted like, with no flavor and with all the folks saying "freshly made on premises", it was hard to believe. Didn't even taste real fresh! Then I realized that they have a "rosemary" bread available on request, and it was much better. Lucky we live Hawaii, but the prices for Mike's subs are very expensive (getting close to double the cost of Subways'), but in their favor is the fact that they do put more meat quantities on their subs (good double what you find on Subways'). I like the "Mike's Favorite" sub with ham, capacolla, and provolone cheese made "Mike's way." Many years ago you couldn't beat Blimpy's subs in Pearl City (no longer there), but there are a couple other locations that are just franchaisee operated, and from my recent trip to the one at the airport, I was disappointed. It was run by asian's and had a distinctive flavor note to the sandwich that was asian (probably in the lettuce)! That was weird!! The bottom line . . . let's face it, we just don't have great subs here in Hawaii. But even considering the prices at Jersey Mike's, and my own "homemade" sub, I would choose Mike's with the rosemary bread above most others on Oahu. I haven't tried this, but I think I will on my next visit. Order a cold sub, but ask them to "lightly" toast the bread. That's the ticket! read more
