This place is a top notch Greek diner. I had the Greek omelet which was delicious although could have used more feta. The real winner of this breakfast was the homemade biscuits! Omg! I don't usually eat an entire biscuit in one sitting but I made room for this one. It was so delicious, flakey and buttery. My partner had the chicken biscuit breakfast which is their take on country fried chicken which was also very yummy. Great, friendly service. Sit at the counter!

Liver and onions? Old shoe? I wore it to bring the dog out! Held up very well. I guess that will be lunch for him once it's cleaned off.

Yes I used Door Dash. Door dash didn't cook the food! It was like looking at the bottom of two shoes. Yes it was cold but I could warm it up. I called Popi's. They said it was too far to send new food. Way to blame someone else for your mistake! DoorDash refunded my money.

Spotless diner with a nice menu. Plus 3 TYPES OF GRAVY. Love Brown Gravy.

Friendly busy breakfast diner with full menu. Quick service and delicious breakfast options. Experienced staff are friendly and polite. Best part is 3 types of gravy, brown, sausage, and chicken. The brown gravy is full of flavor without tons of salt. Totally worth the ride to dunk with fries. This is a local diner with a steady flow of regulars who come in by themselves and join each other's table to enjoy their meal and local catchup of neighbors. Owners are frequently present and visit tables to ensure customers are enjoying their visit. You feel like you are part of the local family when you dine here. A Manatee County original for sure.

Basic breakfast...house potatoes bland-eggs overcooked from request, sausage patty...not link recommended

Trying to give it 3.5 stars...but cannot figure out how...This is a traditional "all-day" breakfast type diner - they open early and close early too at 2:30 pm. There is a robust and versatile lunch menu...but I came for breakfast. It's busy..and there is quite a bit of room with a mixture of tables, booths, and counter seats...no outside seating that I noticed though. It's very clean in Popi's....except for the glass window on the door leading to the bathroom area ( bathrooms were very clean however) funny that the smudged, greasy window looked out of character ...perhaps an off day?! So the food and service....that's why we are all here reading this...waitstaff was responsive but not very friendly...She took my order, and brought my coffee. They have decent prices. I ordered the traditional breakfast... eggs-toast potatoes and meat...so two eggs over "very" easy is what I ordered, - .not what returned on my plate- they barely had a runny yolk...I asked my server what she would recommend for the side dish: the house/home fry potatoes or hash browns...she said the hash browns were frozen and offered no further commentary so I chose the house/homefry potatoes. They were tasteless- no onions, peppers, seasoning...nothing other than just plain formerly baked potatoes I am guessing - I chose sausage for the meat - one patty / one link...the patty was okay...I waited for her to come back at least half through my breakfast to refill or top off my first cup of coffee however, that did not happen. She did stop by closer to the end of my meal, and yes, I gladly took a refill. As I sipped it...I started thinking about my review. disappointing overall ...I had such high hopes....there are multiple locations across the area. This one is on 301 in Palmetto/Ellenton...I may try a different location but not this one again.

Breakfast for lunch!

Well this was about the closest thing to a Jersey diner that we found in Florida. Looks like there's a few different Popi locations, we went to the one in Ellenton. Just like Jersey, there's a long counter with seats and even a dessert case. I had a Western omelet which was a little too dry. Being in the South though, I did have grits with it and they were excellent! My wife had a BLT and said it was very good. If you're in FL and missing NJ, I definitely recommend!

Bland, flat, under seasoned food. They touted their "homemade cheesecake" that actually looked like it was from a big box store.

So much nicer to be here when the snowbirds are gone! IFKYK…read more... Kayleen was our server, and she was very friendly and attentive. Hubby got his usual drink, and I got my coconut Mojito, but this time in a fancy tiki glass. Learned that they're only served indoors, as we have only eaten at the bar or outside by the beach. Got our standard ahi tuna poke nachos, Yum, and a dozen chargrilled oysters, Yum Yum! Hubby and I shared Joe fish tacos, grilled, and they were delicious as always The change in tonight's meal with Jenna "parading" ( ok, not exactly true...) through the restaurant with HUGE brownie sundae s--3 if I recall correctly. Now, I am not a big chocolate fan at all, in fact, I avoid chocolate, yuck, and hubby has to watch his sugar, but when she told me about bananas foster bread pudding-- well, you can see where this is headed! We have never had room for dessert before, and tonight was no exception, but I was enticed by Jenna, and then Kayleen , so...OMG! Absolutely delicious! A bit sweet, but we finished the ice cream and the bananas and a little bit more than that, and got the rest to go. So glad that this is literally about a mile and a half down the road from us, so maybe next time. ;) Also, love the cute merch: jewelry, stickers, T-shirts, caps, stuffed animals, lotion, etc., etc.

It's a large place with a lot of outdoor space including a large outdoor bar as well. Since we wanted to enjoy the view, we decided to sit outside on the deck. Since it was early, we were the only ones outside. The music was really loud; so loud we had to shout, so we asked if it could be turned down. The manager agreed and it was turned down. A little. We still had to shout a bit to talk with each other, so we asked again, but they wouldn't turn it down any more. So, not very nice for us, the only customers on the deck. Our waitress was hustling, perhaps she had too many tables assigned to her. I had the Jambalaya, which was OK, not great. It seems like the ingredients were cheap. Don't think we'll be back.

We asked if there was bread, and they have a complementary bread and pesto that was excellent. We each chose something different so we could try four different meals. The fish tacos were great! Great flavor and huge piece of fresh fish. The green beans are an excellent side choice. The grilled salmon was also excellent. The key lime aioli was sweet, but delicious. The crab cake was not deep fried and crispy, but full of large pieces of crab. The homemade potato chips and fries were great. I did prefer the fries. They also have gluten free buns for the burgers. I had the grouper with mashed potatoes and green beans and it was amazing! The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly, very firm.. flavorful.. and flaky. Their wine selection was VERY good... a wide variety to select from: California, Argentina, France, Germany, Italy - I was very impressed. Staff were all very nice and welcoming which also helped with the experience. Parking is a little tricky.. we did street parking - I am not sure if there are parking garages/lots nearby.. but we went with metered street parking. Would I go back? Yes, for sure!
