The rates are awesome but the people that work at there are really what makes this bank the best

This was easily the worst customer service experience I've had at a bank. I came in expecting…read moreassistance with a simple issue and instead was met with a level of indifference that was honestly shocking. My interaction with Jesus was particularly disappointing. Rather than listening, answering questions, or attempting to help, he seemed more interested in shutting the conversation down as quickly as possible. His attitude came across as dismissive and condescending, and at no point did I feel like he was interested in providing customer service. What frustrated me most wasn't that my issue couldn't be resolved. It was the complete lack of effort, professionalism, and basic courtesy. If this is the standard of service at this branch, customers deserve to know before wasting their time. I left without a resolution and with far less confidence in Bank of America than when I walked in.

From the date I opened the account, I have encountered nothing but dismissal, inconsistent…read moreinformation, racism, and mistreatment at the BOFA branch on Sonoma Ave. I have only gone to that location a total of three times since opening my account because I try to avoid the staff there. I attempted to go to the branch on 4th Street, where the staff were more respectful, but unfortunately that location is now closed. I was at the Sonoma Ave branch on June 10th seeking to transfer some of my funds to my Vanguard account. I was told I would need to bring my own computer to the branch and use their Wi-Fi to transfer my own funds. When I returned with my laptop, the same employee stated that his day was full of appointments and he had no availability. When I asked why he told me to bring my own computer so he could facilitate the wire, he laughed and walked away, saying, "I'm busy, I have scheduled clients." I returned on June 11th to get a cashier's check and transfer my funds to a different bank. The teller stated it would take 20-30 minutes to process. He asked for my ID and had me swipe my ATM card. I asked him to call me when the check was ready, and he said that was a good idea and confirmed my phone number. When I came back 20 minutes later, I was told the teller made a mistake and forgot to enter my ID information, and they would need to restart the process. During this time, they were grimacing, looking at each other, and laughing. I agreed to restart the process, and then I was told my card was now invalid because my password was "wrong." I was instructed to call the 800 number to validate my card. I called the number on the back of my card, was re-identified, and confirmed that my card was valid. I was charged $30 for two cashier's checks even though I have over $600,000 in the account. When I asked the tellers about the fee, they looked at each other again and told me I needed to sit with a banker, which I declined. It took two cashiers to generate a single cashier's check. I have one more account with BOA, and I will be closing that account as well. If you want this turned into a polished formal complaint letter next, I can do that.
