I honestly just love this credit union. Most of my dealings for the past 6 years are with the Seb and the Guerneville branch. Just easy , helpful & efficient... whether it's my safe deposit box (1/2 price!), or regular banking, etc... never felt like i was treated second class just because i didn't have a ton of $ in my account- which i have noticed is a thing in other big banks that I banked with over the decades. So, comparable products, helpful staff & without the excessive fees of other big banks. I do a lot on line, & did notice the website had some glitchy moments a year or 2 ago when they did some website updating, but nothing deal breaking- was able to communicate with web chat person- not a big deal- irregularities quickly resolved, no issues since. This bank sucks. There support sucks over the phone, the ATM is always having problems, you can't deposit your check at the atm if it's after 5 and if you mobile deposit they take there sweet time (over three days) releasing the full amount into your account and if you call them and tell them it's been over 72hrs they will basically just tell u to go fuck urself. They are closed over the weekend and don't count those as business days, most of the population gets paid on Friday and you can't go deposit ur check cuz the atm won't let you if they are closed and if u mobile deposit on Friday u won't get ur full check till Wednesday or Thursday! RIDICULOUS!!! They overdraft u $26 even if u have money in another account and will fight w u for your money back. One time there was a problem with my check and I went in to fix it and they couldn't even tell me what the problem was even tho I sent a picture on the app of the mobile deposit and they couldn't even see it! I've banked with the Guerneville branch since we first bought up this way, and continue to bank with them. The small town feel is perfect for me, our tenants who pay their rent there at the local, and I use the Fulton office often too. I really am appreciative for the lenders through this bank who look at me as a human being vs. a number. My only thoughts for improvements, the online, but every human I connect with, all have been so caring and helpful. I own a business in the area and have been going here for months to get change at the beginning of the day. I have all of my information on file and was assured that it was no issue to go in for this purpose. I have sent several people there and recommend them to others. Today I went in to get change and was told that they "changed their policies" and could not give change for my register. They were short, rude and had no interest in helping me as a customer. I wanted to set up an account (even though I have four bank accounts already) and they said that I couldn't and would have to come back another time. Now I am opening my business with only $20 bills in the drawer. I will certainly never be recommending this place again. I have many years in customer service and know how customers should be treated in order to maintain good business practices, this was not that way. I certainly hope that they don't treat others with this much disrespect if they would like to stay in business. read more

I chose this bank to support local business, I have had an account with them for over 6 years and multiple loans. I will say every single time I have opened a loan something goes wrong. When I say every time I mean all 5 loans, Not receiving coupon tickets, statements not mailed, Dmv paper work lost, you name it, it has happened. This has cost me money, time and worst of all bad marks on my credit due to THEIR problems. Customer services with upper management is not helpful. Their phone system and online banking system is a joke. I tried to help the little guy out but it doesn't pay off. read more

If you are transitioning do not go here. I unfortunately have a car loan through community first. I requested to have my account EFT withdrawal every month which this month I was 3 weeks early paying into the account as I needed it to come out of the first months check not the 2nd months check due to pay period. I had to go in to make my first payment before they'll allow EFT withdrawals on an earlier date. Such an inconvenience. I went in weeks ago to give my new ID with my new gender marker changed on it and requested I have my prefered name entered into the system so to not be misgendered or addressed by my legal name. Yet every interaction I have had so far has been with my legal name and no longer existant pronouns, including face to face interactions on the day I went in to change everything. I then get called a week later and they said they have no recollection of these changes. Then paused and said oh wait yes we do..... They are not trained very well to look at notes made and have no idea how to be courteous, discreet and kind when addressing someone who is transitioning. Really dislike that I am stuck with this company for the next 7 years. Every time I've been called I have had my dead name said to me. I let them know to fix that and they say that if it's not on my ID they can not do that. Actually yes you can! They then apologise and say "oh I see it now, I missed reading that note". Unbelievable. Really makes me uncomfortable working with this company. Completely oblivious on how to be discreet and well below par with how educated they are on gender identities. Just got another call on 10.11.19 from community first, again addressing me by the name I asked not to be called and I have spoken with this lady before about this the first time she called me. Her name is Vikki. Vikki is aware of our conversation the last time we spoke apologising that she missed the note. Yet she called me again apparently not remembering again. I am extremely unhappy at this point. And I will be calling the corporate office in the morning. How many times do I need to ask? read more

Just switched to Redwood Credit Union. Overall, I've only had good experiences with Stacy out at the Guerneville Branch. Living in Petaluma and banking with CFCU is just way more complicated than it needs to be, and the fees are fully out of control, especially now. Honestly wish I could take Stacy with me; she is exceptional at her job and will absolutely be missed. read more

Francisco was great! I am a real estate investor and was looking to open a HELOC on one of my rentals. With most lenders, this is a grueling and drawn out process.
