Never liked Patelco. I left them years ago and went to Redwood CU because of the way they handle accounts they're just very unprofessional. It's all unacceptable!!! if your account gets froze, they don't care they don't even tell you why they just tell you have to wait it's BS! This review is solely for the following individual... Mr. Fidel Rayon the "Regional Team Leader" (NMLS ID # 1718286) Came in yesterday for a card replacement Told Mr. Rayon, so he got my ID, looked me up & asked if I knew I was "in the negative" I said yes, I have the app. Then he said AGAIN (in a joyful, as a matter of fact type of response) Cuz you're overdrawn & we CAN'T issue cards 2 people in the negative. Keep in mind: I'm .70¢ in the red NOT $700 & I had a couple dollars just lingering in savings if Fidel wanted it to make the account "good" again But I didn't get the feeling he wanted to solve my problem. I got the feeling he enjoyed my unfortunate dilemma & seemed to get some form of perverse kick out of repeating my accounts negative standing for anyone to hear (including bank staff & other customers). Further making me feel like I'm dealing w/ a child not a professional. Definitely not professional enough to be taking people's money & has their information at his fingers. It wasn't until I informed him that I visited a neighboring branch, where they would have completed my request if their card machine wasn't down (& the teller then knew I was, at that time, like $70 over) but they never said that it would or could be a problem. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN now Mr. Rayon got some fire in his pants & began to complete my request. So then I'm left standing like, "Did we really have to go through that dance in order for you to just do your job..!" Keep in mind also: I hear it's standard practice to ask the customer a couple questions similar to... "Have you noticed any fraudulent or unknown charges?" I never got these prerequisite questions from him. Just notifications of being overdrawn & in the negatives. Like he wanted to embarrass me in front of thee other customers & his co-workers, making me feel like I was used as the butt of his insufficient joke. Then at the end, I told him how childish & unprofessional his behavior was & if he felt I deserved an apology... He just acted as if he didn't understand me (as though I spoke a foreign language) & never actually addressed my discrepancy, just handed me the card & I asked for his business card & left. Left w/ what I came for but left w/ a bitter taste of experience from the juvenile professional. Mr. Fidel Rayon, You're a Mexican-American, I'm a Black American. Don't forget the way you were so quick to mistreat me yesterday could be the same or worse for ppl like you tomorrow. Never forget the hard times that are pushed on 1 can be pushed just as hard on another You should do better, because the next time someone asks you for an apology, I'd give it to them. Because the alternative could be them waiting in the lot for you after work. Nobody wants that though so do yourself a favor & do what's right in the 1st place. Cuz I stood like 2 ft from you & could tell in .00002 seconds that you are much more equipped to apologize than you are w/ dealing with any alternative backlash from your unprofessionalism. So since I couldn't get that most simple thing from you to correct your interaction w/ me I'm left believing I was treated w/ some form of bias treatment because I am a Black man. I was on vacation when my online account was hacked. I had to go to the nearest branch to get things squared away. I went into the Santa Rosa branch and was greeted by Fidel. I told him my situation and he immediately introduced me to his manager John Campbell. Even though I didn't have an appointment, they both worked together to make sure my account was reassigned with a new number, ordered checks and new debit cards. I want to commend both of them for going above and beyond for me as a customer. I highly recommend this branch and the friendly customer service representatives that work there. read more

This credit used to be the absolute best. But over the last few years (prior to Covid) it has really gone down hill. Back 5 months ago I went on to get info and they told me what they needed. I hired an attorney and got the paperwork for an estate issue. I went back and oops they now won't do it because the deceased is not a prior client and they already knew that back 5 months ago. And now they want additional paperwork because they never told me I have to start all over with the attorney and courts. Also customer service is the pits. The old team where pleasant and caring. New teams could care less and constantly make mistakes and put things in the wrong accounts. I personally know of 2 other prior members who have left this credit union due to the no customer service. I have been with Patelco for a very long time. But it has changed and not for the better. I placed a large check into my account Which had a large amount in it before I added this check which was a cashiers check. Without saying anything to me they placed a hold on my account. I wrote a check to another bank because of a higher interest rate and Patelco bounced that check plus my rent check Which had the money there before I added the large check. So needless to say I am not a happy camper and I think it's time to check out other banks and credit unions. read more

We've been with PCU for so long, savings/checking/loans/etc., I can't remember! Customer service is always great. The new location is fabulous and feels MUCH SAFER! I appreciated their security at the old spot, but I do love being able to come inside without having to be buzzed in. :) (Plus, I love their coffee maker!) PCU really stepped up, along with so many local businesses, after the Firestorm. They provided meals, assistance and supplies to those affected by the fires. Thank you! I've had to call my back litterally 7 times this year. I have NEVER EVER had to call my bank before. This last call took the cake, I'm leaving this place. I call because they blocked my card. They do this every month I pay rent for the past 7 years. Usually I get a text asking if I authorized the payment ut bo text this time. I call and wait on hold for almost a half hour. The girl answers and doesn't ask me my member number (never had that happen) and asks how she can help. She say ok, let me transfer tou to a real person , uhhh what are you a robot? She transfer me to a number saying the business hours are closed its after 7pm and hangs up. I call again, and now the phone center is closed, she obviously did this so she could go home. Now my card is blocked I cant get gas or dinner or use my card for anything until tomorrow. FUCK PATELCO!!! read more

Hands down the best banking service I have ever used. After leaving Redwood Credit Union due to transaction restructuring (where transactions pull out in different orders causing overdrafts) I would myself at Patelco. However many years later I have had 5 car loans, 2 credit cars, multiple loans and checking/savings accounts with them. The customer service in store and over the phone is always top notch. If you ever have a problem they go the distance to solve them. You would be foolish to not bank with them! read more

Very poor customer service. I have in my lifetime applied for and have been approved for many loans. Loans on everything from new homes to new cars to used cars and boats. I Applied online through their website and was quickly approved which I thought initially seemed great until it came time for the follow up and follow through. Upon finally making contact with a human being. I needed to provide some supporting documents which I quickly did as I was eager to finalize things so I can make my new purchase. However my call after call after call into patelco was met with silence so I followed up with emails which was never replied to. After exasperation and frustration of being ignored I finally gave up and went to a competing credit union here in Santa Rosa which quickly got me my loan with great customer service and an amazing interest-rate. I won't say the name of the other credit union but do your own research. Never again patelco credit union. read more

THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could write a VERY long review. 15 months ago I paid off a car financed by these people. The car had been totalled. I was assured I would have the title sent by the DMV. Many calls, much re-assurance ("You know the DMV..) Six months go by. My husband who has dealt with them for THIRTY YEARS goes in and the DMV paperwork was NEVER SENT. I had to go to get a form from the DMV that patelco should have submitted. After six more months, more paperwork they NEVER told us we had to sign more paperwork, which was something THEY should have done. . Long story short, my husband went in today, 5 more weeks later. DMV paperwork STILL SITTING THERE UNTOUCHED!! He took back the required forms, we have to go BACK to the DMV to fight for the title. FIFTEEN MONTHS!!! I could use VERY STRONG LANGUAGE to describe what I think of every one of the inept Stepford Bots in that office, insted we will just sever all ties. read more
