I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Such a cute, clean location with the best ECO-friendly products! Being a blonde (not natural) and across the state from where I live, this place was great find. I went here about 3 times and tried to get Nikki everytime - she is awesome! she knows what she's doing with blondes and foils. I explained to her that I didn't want to get the same platinum foils I always get, that I wanted a little less blonde - but still look bright! She understood completely and gave me exactly what I asked for. The next time I got someone different (can't remember her name) and was happy with that result as well. All the girls who work there are great - especially the manager! She's so personal, funny, and makes you feel like you're getting the best treatment. Bottom line: if you're a blonde in college - go to Poppy for your monthly touch up! Prices are definitely college-budget-friendly and I felt like me and Nikki had known each other for years! :) So sad I don't live over there anymore (graduated) but will continually reference them to anyone I know heading to Pullman! read more

Salon Poppy has the professionalism and style of big city salons wrapped up in a vintage, small town experience. I've been following Chelsea Whitney for years and I always walk away with a great new style. Today she darkened my hair - it turned out exactly as I wanted even though I couldn't articulate clearly my needs. Chelsea is basically a magician. The salon experience is fun for all ages, with plenty of things to look at. All of the stylists are great people who are genuinely interested in your life and remember details between visits. I will point out that when you are not in the mood to talk, they are all respectful of your needs and focus on your hair. As an added bonus, the entire salon is eco-friendly, ranging from the products to the lightbulbs. All the ladies here are amazing and friendly. The colors and cuts I've seen them do are top notch. I personally go to Heidi. She always matches my hair to whatever color extensions I walk in with. She is also upfront an honest with me if she doesn't think an idea of mine will work with my hair type or if it will be too damaging on my thin hair. Oh and I LOVE the products they use. I love this salon! I go to WSU, and I go here for all of my cuts (I have not tried any coloring or other treatments) during the school year. When I'm at home I go to Gene Juarez or Ra hair salon in Redmond and I would say that I am equally satisfied with the salons at home and Poppy. Anyways, these women are great about giving you exactly what you ask for, and are very friendly. I have gone there three times now and have seen two stylists. I would say that I preferred one much more than the other, but the cuts were both satisfactory. The customer service combined with the price easily makes this my favorite salon in the area. read more

Yikes!! Had my hair cut at Poppy Salon by Heidi last week and will never go back again. My hair was below shoulder length and I was ready for something different. I took a pic of a layered haircut that was below the nape of the neck in back and long enough to tuck behind ears in front. The haircut I left with was a VERY SHORT bob (short in back longer in front.) I was in shock to say the least. I went down the street and was fortunate enough to find a sympathetic stylist available to do what she could with the disaster. Now I just have to wait for my hair to grow. Thank goodness I often wear baseball caps. read more

I love going to get my hair done here! The ladies are so sweet and the salon is really cute. Heidi is a genius!

On my first visit the stylist cut my hair way too short. I decided to give them another shot. On my second visit she didn't even remotely come close to the color I asked for and I had to fix it. Also, there seemed to be a lot of gossip going on between the stylists. The salon "attempts" to be hip, but there are a lot of updates that need to take place. Not a good experience or atmosphere. Have been to this salon a few times and was happy but my last visit was bad, I went in for highlights and ended up with streaky cheetah spots, and the color was off. I went out and about the next day and people continued to ask what had happened to my hair. I called the salon and was offered to come in for a fix, I thought it would help, all she did was color over all of the highlights with a dark brown to cover it all. Nikki is my stylist and she is so fun and professional. She always does a great job and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure you walk away with fabulous hair. I had my hair highlighted here by Heidi; she did a great job. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted but she understood and it turned out exactly as I had described to her. They are very professional, nice, and clean. I was worried that, because they are "Eco-friendly" their products would be too hippy and not work but this was not the case. The products are high quality and may even work better than some that are packed full of chemicals. Their prices are also in line with most other places which I was surprised about (since they are "eco-friendly"). I will definitely go back. read more

Whitney is a true gem of a stylist. She has cut my hair twice now and both times I was impressed with her attention to detail, and ability to cut my hair exactly how I wanted it (layered razor cut with super short bangs). She has an eye for assessing a person's style, a trait I find very helpful. Conversation is easy and authentic, but she wasn't afraid to share some quiet (which I love!). I would recommend this to anyone! I went to a different salon and they literally killed my hair. I pretty much had a mullet! I call Poppy and they were able to fit me in the next day. Jenna took her time and fixed my hair and now it looks great! On top of all this they barely charged me anything. Great people and great atmosphere! read more
