Excellent BBQ at an excellent price! The waitress was very nice and attentive. I would recommend Poppy's to anyone passing through Elk City.

We both had the fried catfish special. The seasoning on the fish was great and the filets were cooked to perfection. Fried okra was crispy, coleslaw was creamy with just enough flavor, and pinto beans were good. Service was fast and efficient. Waitress was knowledgeable and polite. I love little hole in the wall dinning places. I found this one on yelp had good reviews and it was relatively spot on. Service: 5/5 - this place has a good old family feel. Everyone was kind and very attentive. My coffee never ran dry. Food: 4/5 - I got the brisket and ribs and fries. Everything was good but it seemed to lack flavors. I asked around the table and the crew I was with felt the same. Good home cooking but needs flavor. Atmosphere: 5/5: at first I wasn't sure what we were walking into because it was just a door in a brick wall. There is an elk lodge connected to this building so it wasn't super inviting but once inside it was very clean. The parking lot was packed so we knew it had to be good. The only con was they switch over from breakfast to lunch at about 10, which IMHO is a little early. We went especially for the breakfast (which looked a 10/10 based upon those around us!) So we were a little disappointed when it wanted to lunch so early. Additionally, catching the change over also added to the wait in the kitchen. We were seated, so not a huge deal but it delayed us getting back on the road. All in all I would go again. read more

I dont usually make reviews, even if I have a bad experience I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. BUT, we really wanted to like this place and we have tried to give it a shot a couple times, even after saying we dont need to go back. The food is OK, everytime we have ate here we wait and wait for our food. The service is absolutly atrocious. On more than one occasion, we have had exceptionally rude waitresses to the point where the whole table is uncomfortable - thats why we wont be back, sadly. read more

Food very much overly cooked. Green beans were inedible. Chicken thighs, ground beef steaks, tots, all dry. Salads were standard American with bottled dressings. Lettuce was crisp but not cold. Servers very nice. Food came hot and fairly quickly. Prices excellent. read more

Poopy's is a great place to eat with good people serving you. I like the all you can eat catfish and the Mac and cheese is also good too

I had the catfish, which was awesome. Okra eas great and the hush puppies are the best i have ever had. My mother had the brisket grilled cheese and thought it was also very good. The servers were also very attentive and made dining even better. read more

O-M-Goodness!!! What a beautiful place we stumbled upon as we traveled from Phoenix to Wisconsin! Yelp, you did NOT disappoint! We chose Poppi's Pig, and the 2 BBQ Meat plate. The Bacon was like nothing I've ever tasted. The pulled pork was delish. The brisket was tender. The sausage had a bit of a kick and some cheese. My husband ordered the 2 BBQ Meat plate and chose two portions of ribs. He was in heaven and even said the ribs were better than his!!! My friend chose the 2 Meat plate with ribs and pulled pork. The prices were amazing, the wait staff was attentive and friendly. We were well fed! We were offered desserts. When she told us they were homemade, we jumped at the chance! She packaged our coconut crème pie, cherry cobbler and apple cobbler to go. They were all delicious! We will be sure to come back on our way back to Phoenix in a few weeks. Thank you Poppy's Staff! Not only did she take stunning photos, but she also gave us the best service imaginable. Her energy was unmatched--she was my #1 hype woman the entire time. The service was excellent. All of our special requests were honored with a smile. They kept the coffee and water at our table full. I ordered steak and eggs, steak medium-rare and eggs over medium. Both were cooked perfectly. We ordered the baby's egg the same, but put in a bowl to make feeding him easier. Came out exactly as requested. The bacon ordered by another member of our party was so good we ordered more. The decor was cute. And the drinks were served in jelly jars adding to the cuteness. read more

Incredible breakfast. The omelet was huge and stuffed with meat. It was delicious. The pancakes were outrageously thick - maybe close to 2 inches - and divine. The hash browns were also very good. Biscuits and gravy were fair. The staff was friendly. The main criticism I have is that none of the staff wore masks. At the height of COVID with lots of folks very sick, this makes many guests uncomfortable and not want to come back...although they won't say anything at the time...because they don't want to make the staff uncomfortable. Yummmm! We've driven by this cute little place numerous times and it's always busy but we've never went in, today we sure did! Both the ladies working were super friendly & prompt. The restaurant was clean & inviting. We loved the food & the hashbrowns were perfect...probably the best I've had and I didn't even order them, my husband did! Haha. And as the waitress said, nobody likes a sausage link...she is right & the sausage patty was so good. Obviously we will be back when we come through the area again and felt completely comfortable with the environment and are happy to see things "normal" here with no mask mandate; just community members enjoying a good meal while supporting a small business. read more

We stopped by on our way to Amarillo and almost turned around before we got there because it was 6 miles off the interstate. We are glad we didn't turn around. Everything was homemade and delicious.
