This place sucks! It used to Ben's Butcher Block. The owner was forced to retire and the ownership calls themselves a "Butcher". They are not. They are a deli. Possibly they make a good sandwich but every time I've called to ask for simple common meat cuts all I get is, "We'll have to order that, 2 to 3 weeks". WTF!??? Stay away! read more

I've been coming here monthly for about a year now. The meats are high quality and I love the BH sandwiches. Some of our favorite items are the bangers and the turkey chops. I have gotten various steaks and cuts of meat and even produce. It's hard for me not to spend at least $100 every time I go there as I just keep adding more and more to my order. I went to Pops to get a steak and deli roast beef. The owner gave me the steak, and I told him I needed sliced roast beef. The owner told me the man who works on the deli side won't be back for another hour. I told him I don't have an hour. I asked you can't help me? He said he was too busy getting 2 orders ready. There was no one else in the butcher shop. It was hard to believe the owner of Pops wouldn't take a few minutes to get me the sliced roast beef I needed. I've been looking to buy beef back ribs that have meat on them and gave Ben's a call. The first few times I called they didn't have any. I called again yesterday and they had some! I stopped by during my lunch and was able to select and purchase my ribs, beef cube steak, chicken steak, bone marrow and ground lamb in less than 20 mins! After work I made my chicken steak and wow! It was fresh, tasty and so tender. I can't wait to cook everything else. They have a limit of 3 customers at a time. Their hours are Monday-Friday 10-4 pm. I don't recall Saturday hours but call ahead and make sure they have what you're looking for before you show up. They have a good selection of hot sauces, seasonings and various other items. The girls who helped me were so helpful and made some recommendations on how to cook short ribs if I chose to buy them. Check them out and support local small businesses! read more

We wanted to treat ourselves to a New Years steak dinner. A filet for Hubby and ribeye for me. Pops help me pick out the right piece from the tray. Grabbed some bacon for the filet.When I saw the chuck pieces, it looked so good, I like using chuck for taquitos. I was nervous cooking such great quality meat. I decided to reverse sear so I didn't need to wait for it get to room temperature, it's pretty cool in the house. Seasoned with salt, pepper and Montreal seasoning. OMG, came out perfect, we like it just barely past rare. After the sear. So tender and delicious. I slow cooked the chuck on the same day, and made taquitos on New Year day. The meat was melt in your mouth goodness. The quality of the beef is worth every penny. The shop is nicely laid out and clean. We will be repeat patrons. read more

I don't care what your political beliefs are but when you shove them in my face on your front door telling me my business is not needed, well okay. I will shop elsewhere for my meat. On a side note, I also want to point out that several workers in this butcher shop do not wear gloves when handling the meat. I have watched one lady go from customer to customer, package their purchase without washing hands between orders and not wear gloves. Also they do not wear masks when working with the meat, so they are breathing all over your meat. Additionally, the quality of their meat has gone down while the prices have gone up. Oh my goodness. I woke up today craving their homemade breakfast sausage. I told my husband and he said he was thinking the same. I do recommend this place if you want the freshest cuts of high quality meat. Last time, I got beef bones to make a broth that I used for a veggie and barley soup. I think they also have pork bones which I'll have to get next time to make ramen broth. The bacon and homemade Italian sausage are great too. I can't wait to try more of what they got. read more

Stopped in yesterday for hamburger and steak and was pleasantly surprised that they sell locally grown produce and eggs from Sound Guild Farm in Pearblossom. I hope they keep that up. I bought eggs and lettuce. Better than the last butcher which was in that spot by far. read more

I love this place. Went to get some meats from the deli and they were AMAZING. Got the pastrami, pepperoni, chipotle chicken, cream havarti cheese, and peppered colby cheese. We also got boar's head deli dressing which I put on my bread and heated it in a few an til crunchy! It made for a wonderful tasty sandwich. My wife and I ordered a prime rib for the holidays at Ben's Butcher. We had never shopped at Ben's Butcher before. We heard about Ben's Butcher off the recommendation of a friend, and we were happy to support a small business. However, we will not be back to Ben's Butcher due to the sign at the door prominently telling us we are unwelcome to shop there. Apparently, if you don't vote or believe the same things the owners do, you are told not to shop at their store. I think it's repulsive that in the United States you can find places that tell you to "please take your business elsewhere" simply because you are different and believe and vote differently from your neighbor. read more

I love going to Ben's Butcher Block! They have a very clean Boar's Head section and a butcher section. I love grabbing some lunch meat for the week and various meats. I also like to buy bones to make bone broth. read more

Sort of difficult to get nonstandard orders taken care of. I've several times tried to get ground dark meat chicken by walking in but was told to come in later? Not sure why, just take the thighs and put them in machine. Each time it was also explained to me that there would be additional chicken to push it through the extruder or grinder or whatever. I mean, it's fine, just do it. I ended up calling ahead so I could pick up after work and getting a larger order so I can freeze it. That seemed to work out fine. The quality was always good, and once I got through the hurdles of having the order filled, I was always happy with the food I cooked with the meats. There is also a wider assortment of cooking vegetables and groceries here than you would think. It seems carefully chosen, like vinegars and sauces and onions and potatoes, so all of the stuff you would need. Good prices, too! read more
