Moved to the Polson area from LA about a year ago. We love the area but are always looking for good local food. Pops Grill had over 4 stars on google and the pictures of the food looked good. So with excitement and high expectations we went for lunch. Bad decision. My daughter and I had cheese burgers and our buns were charred to the point of being burned on the underside but actually cold on the top sides. Our fries were cold and limp. The melted cheese on the burgers look like it had melted on the day before. My wife had the French toast. It looked like it had been deep fried, again looked like food from the previous day. Not the soft and lightly browned French toast at most other places. Bottom line food was terrible and will never go back again. Darn, had hoped of finding a decent place to eat locally. Went for breakfast--ordered the eggs benedict. When I finally got my meal the hash browns were cold, the "poached" eggs were hard, and there was no hollandaise sauce, just a lumpy yellow tasteless paste. Choked down half but left the rest. Zero stars...The waitress's demeanor and attitude matched the food. Cold, bland, and horrible. Yuck!... and my chicken fried steak had mystery stringy meat in the gravy... I wish I took a picture. Do NOT go here. Waited another 20 minutes just for the check. Food was also way overpriced!!! We came back for a better breakfast at our resort nearby. read more

Was definitely not what up to standards at all! Food was gross my son wouldn't even eat it and he is not a picky eater! Was way over priced for what we got and the wait was ridiculous. Wont be returning again. read more

Update - POP's has a new owner. Two recent breakfast visits took place with a visiting out of town friend, we would go for breakfast and coffee and talk. The interior is in the same condition, needs refreshing. Odd thing was we ordered the same breakfast on both days and were charged different prices. The meal was mostly the same, one piece of link sausage cut in two where before we were given two links. Eggs, coffee and pancakes about the same but even at the new lower of the two different prices was about twice what it was before. All the prices seemed high. I hope the new owners turn it around because it does offer a slice of local Polson. Service was great. Food and prices not so. read more

My 5 star review is for their Country Fried Steak breakfast, a 'while-I'm-traveling-across-the-country' favorite. OMG! I've NEVER had better! The first time I had the hash browns, the second time I had the home fries...a much better choice. It also comes w/ eggs, I ask for over-easy. perfectly done. Always more than I can eat at one sitting (in comes a welcomed 'doggy-bag'). But the blue ribbon goes to the steak itself. LARGE, tender, perfectly cooked. The icing is the gravy, again perfect. To be honest, my only negative is that the last time they forgot to bring my English muffins...but then I didn't mention it to the waitress because I was too full to care. Service is 'home town', friendly. An understanding patron will 'handle' delays when their busy. This is a place where the locals go...need I say more? read more

There are certain moments in life that make you question the very fabric of the universe. How did we get here? Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? I'm not talking about reading Decartes. I am talking about biting into a buttermilk pancake smothered in boysen berry syrup. One bite and I instantly felt every emotion in it's purest form. It was like being wrapped in a blanket of pure light and being rocked to sleep by some higher being whose face was obscured but emanated a feeling of benevolence. The portions were huge!! The food came out promptly after we oredered. The wait staff was attentive and refilled my coffee before it was halfway empty. Overall the experience exceeded every expectation that can be expressed in the english language. Tres Bien! read more

Pop at the grill And Kendra at the tables made this one of our best meals in Montana. We had the daily special, Bean soup..... Some had breakfast.... All in all..... Good home cooking at its best.... read more

Went for breakfast on a Sunday. Entire dining area was FREEZING COLD! (Outside temps in the low teens) Our meal arrived quickly and portion size was good but our food and hot drinks cooled down quickly, pancake syrup began to congeal in the cool air! Deep fried French toast was disappointing; outside was fried to a crisp and inside was gooey. Pancakes were large, fluffy and satisfying but, again, cold syrup brought it down. My wife and I had lunch yesterday, in Polsom for a visit. The sandwiches were great. Very friendly place cook came out and talked to us.

Interesting atmosphere, a blast to the past. Nice owners. Small issue with breakfast, fixed promptly with friendly service.

Hard, hard, hard. That's how you get your eggs no matter how you order them. I ordered over easy, it's not that hard to do, for ten bucks at least do them right. The cook is using the same hot grill for the meats. Also the home fried potatoes were still raw in the middle. Well I asked the waitress if they could deduct the eggs from the bill, two eggs are $4.30, they would only take $1.00 off the bill. I am a local and will never return, not good! read more

Had a half pound cheeseburger , it was really good . Onion rings and fries good. Food was fresh , potato salad very good. Nothing fancy as far as appearance but the food is very good. read more
