Huckleberry breeze - yumm! Really flavorful. Huck mojito - very minty which was fantastic!! Prefer this one. Hot Hawaiian pizza - 5 stars! Original crust has excellent flavor and texture (chewy) and pizza is superb. Sauce is reminiscent of BBQ pizza sauce but the jalapeños add some depth with heat and the pineapple adds a touch of sweet. Perfectly balanced. Smokehouse burger - heard it was very good! Fries are great - crunchy and flavorful. Beet salad was also good re wifey. Pro tip - ranch is extra good here so great to dip food items in! Place is clean, staff is friendly and attentive. Updating from a 2020 review. We've had nothing but good experiences at MacKenzie over the years. The Good - We had been eating lots of steak during the week, so we opted for salads. Both were excellent and the plating was well done. Lots of parking. It's a good place to grab a bite and then throw the bikes out of the truck and hit the bike path. We asked staff and they confirmed that we wouldn't bother customers, so we moved down the parking lot a ways and parked. The Meh - Nothing to report on this visit. Currently the most "restaurant" like eatery in Polson. You feel like you are walking into a well established place where the food will be consistent and what is expected. I like that MacKenzies sometimes has fun seasonal cocktails. My husband loves the Good ol Boy pizza and I'm a fan of the fish n' chips ,salmon bowl, soups and shrimp appetizer . Went in several more times since I was staying at the hotel next door. I was able to try a lot of items on the menu. The flatbreads were fantastic! And, as a pizza snob from New Jersey, their thick crust pizzas were quite good. Salads were fresh and ample size. I was disappointed with the fish and chips since the menu said it was fresh cod which it wasn't. Mine was soggy which tells me that it's frozen. I've had to wait until I calmed down to post this. I don't think I've ever had a good experience here. Usually the service is an issue. The last time was hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in a long time. Three of us arrived prior to our party, which would be 5 adults & 2 children, for my sister's birthday. It was her first one since surviving open heart surgery. I went to the bar to order drinks. There were maybe 2-3 other people at the bar. It wasn't super busy because I was able to walk in and get a booth immediately. I ordered our drinks and requested the tab be left open because I would be taking care of drinks for the table. The bartender offered to bring the drinks over to the table. This was my first mistake. If I had known what was to come, I would have gladly waited for the drinks. I went back & sat down. I believe it was maybe 30 minutes before our waitress came to the table. We still had no drinks and I was able to sit and watch drinks be served to many people who came in after us. There was also maybe 10 different staff running around. I advised our waitress we hadn't received our drinks and advised I had a separate tab for the drinks. By now, the rest of our group had arrived and they ordered drinks. Waitress said she would check on drinks. We did not see her again until our order came. Saw her running around helping other tables. Drinks came finally after 45 minutes, but they brought everybody's except 1 person. The person who would be paying for the meal. We couldn't seem to get anyone's attention. I finally got up to go to the bar and a waitress named Jenna intercepted me. I'm sure she could see I was upset, however, the next few words did nothing to alleviate that. She started by raising her voice and repeating "Ma'am" at me every time I tried to open my mouth to speak. She also raised her hand in a halting motion at me. When I was finally able to explain about the missing drink and lack of waitress, Jenna blamed it on the fact that I insisted on a separate bar tab. FYI, just because you call someone ma'am does not mean you are being polite. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years and I would never treat anyone the way we were treated. Even after this the one person who hadn't received his drink still had to get up about 10 minutes later and find someone to get him a drink. I then watched the person who got it for him wandering around a few minutes later trying to locate where the drink went. She thought it was for the food delivery guy. Poor management, horrendous customer service, and over priced corporate restaurant food. We definitely won't be back. read more

First time at the hotel and ordering from McKenzie's. Hotel is great but the testy needs work. Ordered to go to our room upstairs. We ordered an Italian Grinder And a Stockman Pizza, pretzels with beer cheese sauce, and Kentucky toast. The grinder was so undercooked and wet that it stuck to the cardboard. Worst pizza we've ever had. Stockman is mediocre at best. Pretzel came straight out of freezer and no beer flavor at all in the cheese sauce. The fried pound cake was cooked in old oil with bourbon flavor at in the Carmel sauce. Coast $50 for trash. Both pizzas went in the trash after less than half being eaten. With this I spoke to the manager and the meal was refunded. read more

I am offering a 4 Star review for this restaurant. I feel it's trendy and has a wide selection of food for a pizza joint/ it's location. What they do well: It's clean, great servers, and is nice inside and out. They also have some outdoor seating that looks nice. I think portions on starters are more than generous. Parking is also plenteous. What they can work on: would like to give them a heads up that their toilets spray you unkindly on the way out. We were seated fairly quickly, but then waited for water for 10 minutes, were prompted to order right after that, without even asking if we wanted drinks. We planned on having a starter, but decided against it since we didn't have much time. Please note the restaurant wasn't busy at this time, either. We ordered food, and waited 45 minutes. During that time, our server didn't check on us ONE time. Our food was cold, and my spicy chicken sandwich was served without the top of the bun, then our server brought a chilled bun top on a separate plate. I'm updating my review because of the grotesque amount of health code violations I witnessed today at lunch. Our waitress was Paris, her customer service skills lack and she is pushy. I ordered the soup, salad and breadsticks. I got my soup and salad 25 minutes later and my breadstick about a minute or two later. I was seated in the booth near the side exit door where I could see into the kitchen. Paris was working the bar and serving our table and one other. She finally went back to the kitchen after my food had been sitting out for 5 or more minutes. She garnished my soup with her barehand and then proceeded to pick up and poke my breadstick... She had the check ready before we finished our food and did not ask if I wanted another salad, soup or breadstick... I've had some bad experiences here and I've had some really good experiences. This incident just made my stomach turn.... There is a dire need of management that knows serv-safe and Montana state health codes. Structure and training is a necessity. read more

Went to eat yesterday. When we arrived, there was no staff visible in the restaurant. After waiting a couple minutes, we decided to seat ourselves. We still hadn't seen any staff. Another group of people came in as we sat at a table. A waitress then came from the kitchen area and immediately sat the other group. The waitresses then got them menus and water. We tried to get the waitresses' attention and were told to wait. Food started being delivered to tables, and we again was told to wait. The most absolute horrible service in Polson. I've grown up here my entire life, every time I have gone the staff take 20+ minutes to come up to you and ask for drink orders. I Went in here today with my mom who is visiting and not only did we not even get approached by anyone to give our drink orders, my mom told me to leave because a worker was eyeing me down in a very uncomfortable way. Wish I got her name, she had long brown hair and is working behind the bar as of 4pm on July 31st. First of all after reading some of the reviews about how bad the service was, how their server was rude, etc. ; I would like to address these reviews. Do you have any idea of how hard it is to get capable help these days? With the " want to work pool" being reduced to a hand full of people that actually want to work, it is rather hard to find adequate employees. Look around .... Every restaurant and for that matter , every business struggles to find employees. With that being said, I can't say I've ever had a better pizza than what we ate yesterday! The crust was crisp but not overdone, the sauce and cheese were perfect and the pepperoni was flavorful and had a bit of spicy bite! My wife also had a Cobb salad that she says was excellent. Our server Josslynn, although busy, was very attentive and friendly. I only wished we had visited here sooner so we could have returned a few times to try their other menu items. Really disappointed. We ordered a large pizza with some very specific but simple instructions. They failed miserably. The waitress did a fine job. I watched her record our requests, she repeated it back to us and the kitchen failed to act upon it. It would not have been so bad had what we received not been almost exactly the opposite of what we ordered! It was almost like a signal that they refused to modify their menu item. If that is the case tell me up front, I will order something else or go somewhere else! Plus the pizza was light on meat, heavy on sauce and seasoned poorly. This was the first time in my life that I had to add salt to a pizza. I am sorry but pizza is just not that hard to do! We cook it from scratch at home all the time, on a grill!
