I was super surprised to see all of the offerings and the store layout totally isn't what I had expected. I've been to the places where they have glass counters and scoop up bags from behind - there is none of that here. The walls are adorned with bags of every variety of popcorn you could imagine from your standard white for $4 up to larger bags that will set you back over $15. My eyes were set on the Fat Boy (Double Cheese) but movie theater butter sounded fantastic too. Luckily, they will let you sample the offerings. I got what I call a small bag (there was a smaller bag) for about $9. Honestly, I don't want to know what's in this popcorn but you can't eat it out of the bag or you'll have cheesy hands. It definitely filled my desire. Based on past reviews, it sounds like this is a new location. This truly is a super cool, local business. It may be too convenient for me.

In reading some earlier reviews about the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. We were greeted very warmly the minute we stepped in and my 3-year old was a bit on the cranky side so she dealt with that well too! We had a completely different overall experience than the person wrote from earlier this year. The walls were perfectly in order, stocked with all bagged popcorn flavors and candy. Floors and counters were clean. They also had a beautiful display of gourmet candies to the side of the check-out counter, above it which listed also their ice cream offerings and prices. They had all their various tins with many patterns to choose from on the top shelves. My kids enjoyed watching fresh carmel corn being stirred up behind the counter. She even let us sample the fresh/warm popcorn. The lady was a great sales person, that is for sure. We walked in thinking we'd buy a small bag for the kids to share and we ended up walking out with a 2-pound tin tub, plus an extra bag of cheesy bacon pizza popcorn. We paid around $30, which really was a good price if you look at Garrett's prices! Plus, the lady told us that we could bring the empty tin back anytime (no expiration) and get it refilled with a discount - I think she said 15%. I liked that we were able to get 3 different flavors to fill up the tub. She filled it to the rim too. The tub seems to hold at least 7 of the large bags that were sold individually. My favorite was the 3-cheese that had white chedder, parmesan and I 'think' just regular cheddar. It melts in your mouth. So good! We were just there a couple of hours ago and I think I am half way through this third of the tin. We might need to refill the tin before heading home from Lake Geneva in a couple of days. My kids liked the carmel/cheese that was seedless (tastes like Cap N' Crunch cereal) and a white chocolate one. I might need to have some shipped to me during the year as this popcorn is seriously addicting! My mom is sitting in front of me as I am typing this and she is eating some of the popcorn, and she just said this stuff is so addicting. Agreed!

They came ready for business! They had a variety of products and could accept any version of payment your pajama clad self offered -- including Google pay! I had a good time laughing and exchanging jibs about Garrett's popcorn in my childhood hometown -- Chicago! I was told to try the "Chicago" label from this shop. I warily agreed and promised to write what I discovered! First, let me say! Garrett's is my all time FAVORITE!! I am one of those people who would stand in the line that wraps around the block for hours in the sub zero weather just to buy a bag of the cheesy caramel mix! I have to report, with a heavy heart ... I will not be driving to Chicago for Garrett's again! As the owner promised, this popcorn is wonderful! It was WI cheesy and the caramel made me feel all Christmasy sweet and buttery inside (and I don't celebrate Christmas)! I only wish I could have had this cheesey popcorn warm right out of the kettle. I can just imagine what THAT tastes like! I will definitely have to make a trip to Cedarburg to find this shop.
