My mom wanted her first tattoo. Had plans to go to a different shop but they happened to be closed that day. Since we were already out and driving around, my mom couldn't wait so then I took her here. She was greeted and helped quick and got herself a nice rose tattoo on her shoulder in color from Brad. I went here Dec. 2010. I thought it was a chill place. I definitely need a touch up on my tattoo. Some of the black faded. The coloring is still good. It was pretty mellow. I've heard good things about this shop so me and my best friend decided to get our first tattoos here last night spontaneously, and plus it was her bday. Eion (pronounced Owen) was our artist and he did a great job on both of us. He sketched what we wanted which took maybe 20 to 30 mins. We came right before closing and didn't get finished until after closing. And he didn't rush or get upset that it was past the time he was supposed to leave. My session only took about 20ish mins and hers took less maybe. During my part, I was pretty calm and stayed still the whole time. I didn't really want to talk or move because it was was pretty painful but I was able to bear it and not be a little girl about it lol. My best friend said hers didn't hurt and it felt relaxing to her. Eion was easy to talk to. And he played chill music too. read more

Odie is the tits. He knows how to draw anything up and is okay if you need or want any changes if you had another idea in mind. That, to me, is KEY in building trust with your artist. I've gotten 5 of my tattoos here. Two of the four artists who worked on me were amazing: friendly and experienced. The other two were more of the "let me get this done" mindset. No worries though, they're always busy and need to get stuff done. My only complaint would be that some of the artists try to change what you want your tattoo design to look like. Stick to your guns and you'll walk away with a great piece of art. read more

I came in on Wednesday 4/27/2011 for my first tattoo ever. My artist was Bill and he was really chill and everyone in the shop made me feel totally comfortable. I had an idea in mind and Bill was really honest and straight forward with me about what would work and what might not. I was very grateful for his knowledge and advice. He ended up helping me tweak the design and now I LOVE my tattoo. It is so far beyond what I expected. He worked relatively quickly and all of the lines were clean and perfect. My tattoo was black and white with shading and his skills blew me away. I definitely recommend Pop's to anyone in Vallejo. Not only was the shop and the people there extremely chill, but there was also a bucket of free candy that Bill let me have my way with. And don't forget to tip assholes... Bill seemed shocked when I passed him a tip. It's a service... and it's permanent art... tip. read more

My twin daughters just turned 18 on April 8th and wanted to get their first tattoos at Pops. They had a great time and got beautiful tattoos. Jeff and Brad was their tattoo artists. they were extremely patient with them and are funny as hell. We all had a great time and they already made appointments to go back to see Jeff again about their second tattoos. I just went to this shop yesterday. I was searching for a tattoo shop in the area, because my regular guy at Only Skin Deep was closed, due to it being a weekend. I must say i have heard many good things about this shop and it proves to live up to expectations!! Beth had designed my piece from scratch and it came out looking awesome and above my expectations. Very rude and lazy. I came in with a treble clef that i wanted on my left fore arm and was told that there was too much detail for them to make it slightly smaller.(it was not a huge size change at all) It was very disappointing and I felt un-welcomed, even one of the artists just laughed and walked away. I ended up going to a different shop in the area and they had no issues drawing up and tatting me. I will not go to pop's ever again, just very rude all around. read more

I went to the other shops but this one the tattoo artist actually care about the artwork and I truly think it's the best one in Vallejo great customer service too! My friend got a tatoo today , it was on her foot and she was hella nervous about the pain, . I and another friend of hers went for support, but when Brad started to ink her , yes you could tell she felt pain, but he did it so quick and confidentally that she was very , very happy with the result! I am so unhappy with my artist of six years! I recently went to EOIN to get a cover up. He told me not to worry and that he can make it better! He started the process ass usual with beautiful art work then yesterday getting another session in it was like he was another artist. As he always does he drew the piece on my body, I told him I wasn't too excited about it so he redrew it. At this point I was still unsure but since I have been with him so long I trusted his work! I told him that! That's where I went wrong! I was suppose to have waves and as everyone is describing it looks more like tentacles. I told eoin how I wasn't satisfied and how much I hate it how I would like my money back and he said no that I agreed and nothing looks wrong, that his boss would say the same thing! I told him that wasn't fair and he said basically too bad and goodluck! That's no way to be to a loyal client! I'm not sure what was going on with him but this just isn't right! Now I have to spend thousands of dollars to get it removed! read more

I went with my daughter to this place. We thought they were nice, but it turns out that they didn't finish my or my daughter's tattoo. They sounded nice on the phone, but boy was I wrong. I have a lot of tattoos. so I know how they feel. Ann hurt us half to death with the digging and heat from the lamp. They would not finish my tattoo. Shop around. I would never ever go here again, or suggest to anyone else. Vince the owner would not even give us customer service. We weren't satisfied and he didn't try to help us. He was willing to save on a needle and a little ink, but he wasn't willing to give good customer service. I want justice, and I will keep making sure everyone knows about this place. read more

I recently saw my esthetician and she had new ink done the night before. I really liked the font and how perfect it was, she referred me to Diego at PoPs. Definitely one of, if not the best parlor in Vallejo. Ask for Eoin (pronounced Owen), chillest artist i've been tattooed by, not a cliche pretentious or 'dead silence through the whole tat' artist.
