My husband and I LOVE pops. It's our go to date night hot spot. He always (without a doubt) gets the spicy tuna wrap. Before I had bariatric surgery, my go to was the Blackened Grouper Ruben (no thousand island). Now it's whatever I feel like I might be able to stomach. Usually I get the clam chowder as a safe haven or nachos. Tonight I decided to try the blackened salmon bites. They did NOT disappoint. The bites were lightly blackened and very juicy. This was a pretty cool place! My family and I dined here for dinner one evening while we were in town visiting. I believe it was on a Saturday evening, it was early so there wasn't much of a wait, so we sat by the water. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp, which was pretty good, but the dipping sauce was not the greatest in my opinion. My boyfriend ordered the Grouper BLT and said that it was really good. I can't remember what the rest ordered, but there wasn't any complaints, so that's something. I loved the gift shop and the restaurant overall was pretty good too. I highly recommend. read more

It's got a really cool, vibrant energy and a big space with multiple areas featuring bars and TVs, which makes it a fun spot to hang out--especially if you want to treat out-of-town guests to that quintessential Florida feel right on the water. The food is fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way just for it. Pro tip: put yourself on the wait list beforehand, because it can get busy. The parking can be tough, but there's a larger lot about a four-minute walk away. Another trick is to either follow someone who's leaving and snag their spot or park across the street at Nokomis Beach and walk over. The waiters are really nice, and the food comes out pretty quickly (sometimes suspiciously so), but overall, it's a laid-back place to sit back, enjoy the view, and share a fun Florida experience. read more

Coming to this restaurant reminds me of. Many restaurants in key west florida. It was well decorated For the christmas holiday. I did see that the staff was tired after a long hard dinner shift. But they still delivered with enthusias My waiter was great recommended great dishes. He even put me on the mailing list, which is perfect for events that they have. The food was outstanding. Both of our meals were cooked to perfection even during the late night. It was not rushed and halfway cooked it was cooked perfectly. Great location There is much to like about Pop's Sunset Grill. Our visit yesterday was for breakfast, a nice relaxing not so crowded time. We were seated right away, right along the water, and spent our time watching the boats and identifying the birds we could see instead of just staring at our phones. It is truly a beautiful spot. For breakfast I had their Meat Lovers Omelette, delicious with a generous amount of meat. The bacon flavor really stood out, as bacon often does. It came with a side, I chose their Home Fries, which were ok. They do offer, for an upcharge, cheese and other things to improve these cubes of potatoes. I should have looked closer at the menu and done that. My young dining companion thought their French Toast could have used more batter. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive. The path from the entrance to the tables passes through a gift shop area, much to the delight of my granddaughter. A pleasant visit and a new hat later, we headed out both saying this was a great choice for breakfast. read more

Went on a slow Monday afternoon to celebrate (my) late birthday with one of my girlfriends. (My friend-) she originally ordered an non-alcoholic Paloma (listed under mocktails on menu) and I a regular Mojito with well rum..... which came back to us as a regular Mojito and a nonalcoholic Mojito..? And then, however, I was served the NONalcoholic Mojito and my friend was served the one with alcohol..... No big deal whatever, could've been an easy fix. We ordered a plate of wings and a plate of peel &eat shriimp, fine cool, easy. Our waiter than delivered the next Mojito with his hand INSIDE the drink which he apologize for, claiming he spilled it, but I then said we would take it for free no charge, cool fine.... He then heard us talking about my birthday (which was yesterday) and offered us a birthday dessert; whenever this happens, one is to assume that it is complementary. I even asked if I could take it to go because I know My Boyfriend is a big dessert person and I wanted to bring it home to him, but he said that it wouldn't be qualified as a birthday dessert so I said OK we'll have it "in house ." as for the alleged discount/ removal from the bill. It was then charged on our bill. I am a local. I have never been dissatisfied with Pops until this day, I am utterly disappointed. It is a great place for Tourists. If you'd like to go order chicken tenders that get fried in the same oil as the fish and just taste like fish and you want to pay overpriced for bad underpoured drinks and food while sitting on the water, I'll continue going to Pops as long as my friends that make good money pay because I'm not paying for worthless overpriced frozen fish that'sthat's imported from Vietnam. Chance is a good server but also a liar as is everyone else that works at Pops. Thank you for promoting a "free birthday desert" and then charging me $15 for it:). We know what it is we know what you're about. Any logical local knows this is a pure scam. Godspeed, and hope Chance realizes his worth and takes his work ethic elsewhere. Ciao read more

My omelette was fantastic & my wife ordered a breakfast burrito. Most of the food is and has always been on point. This was the 3rd bar and grill we have been to in this area. Out of the 3 this was our favorite. This place is huge with seating by the water the bar the shade. It also offers call ahead to be put on wait list. We got there early enough not to need to do that but by 5 pm they were building a wait time. We had the steam pot which my husband enjoyed a lot. We had the calamari app also very good. I had the nachos as a dinner and they were good. The chocolate cake was ok. The service was good as well. read more
