We called ahead for a table because they didn't take reservations for breakfast/lunch. We weren't sure if it would be crowded. She said we could call days ahead if needed. There was plenty of seating when we arrived on a Sunday for breakfast/lunch. I took the recommendation of our server and had the Casey key breakfast wrap. It was so delicious! The wrap was pressed to be warmed. It was filled with light/flyffy scrambled eggs, shrimp and a really good sauce. It was very flavorful. My husband had the mother child reunion. It was tea good also but a little more difficult to eat. It was a lovley breakfast sitting outside listening to a person singing and watching the boats go by. Pops Sunset Grill Atmosphere and Service Parking was difficult to find when we stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Once inside, we were seated on the outdoor deck overlooking the water. Our first table wobbled so badly that we asked to move to another nearby. The restaurant has a casual, no-frills Old Florida atmosphere. Plenty of fans kept the air moving in the heat. Our server took our drink and food orders promptly, but we later had to flag her down for refills and extra napkins. What We Ordered * Chef's Ceviche: Octopus with lime juice, tomato, cucumber, red onion, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, olive oil, and avocado, served with tortilla chips. * Harbour Island Bahama Mama: A half-pound burger topped with pineapple, mozzarella, and teriyaki, served on a toasted brioche bun with lettuce and tomato. * Maine Lobster Roll: Lobster with tarragon aioli, mixed greens, and tomato on a brioche roll, served with a side salad. Food and Overall Experience The Chef's Ceviche was fresh but unremarkable, and the portion felt small. We were in town for a baby shower and got recommended to go to Pop's Sunset Grill for dinner. Huge place right on the river and we had a lovely view of the water and fun watching the boats go by. The wine list was excellent and we enjoyed the fish spread appetizer. Yum! We split the grouper fresh catch that we had grilled with coconut rice and broccoli. Wonderful service from Nicolle in the tiki bar. Ambiance is great--live music started today, Friday night, at 5pm. The food is really very good. I again had the mango bbq shrimp. The fresh vegetables that came with it were amazing. Green beans with bacon and garlic mixed with some carrot/root vegetables. Loved it. Very fun place. Food was okay - I had the chicken breast sandwich with sweet potato (those were delish) - it was blackened but the sauce was sweet on top so a little bit of a conflict of flavors. One of my friends had a Caesar salad and said the lettuce was wilty. The other gals had the wraps and liked them. Listen, you come here for the atmosphere. They have great seating. A Tiki Bar. This is the second time I've driven 140 miles round-trip for brunch. There were six of us, and we scored a table by the river. For weekend brunch, they have two different kitchens. One does breakfast, then the other does lunch. My order came from the lunch side. I ordered a Swiss cheese burger with fries. Mrs. K ordered "The Joe" 2 over-hard eggs, American cheese, bacon, and mayo on toasted sourdough. For whatever reason, I wanted oysters. So I ordered six, and they tasted wonderful. I was totally surprised to find this huge restaurant and gift shop tucked behind a marina in the tiny town of Nokomis. I was also totally surprised to find that the food has a high-end chef finish. My hot honey chicken was cooked to juicy perfection and the flavors were delicately balanced. My friend got the avocado toast which looked artfully arranged with lots of deluxe toppings. The prices were reasonable for the generous portions. We sat under a tiki woven grass roof overlooking the intercostal on a warm day and it was so pleasant. Our table has a built in fireplace in the middle of it, so I'm sure it's nice and cozy on a cool evening. The live music was a nice touch. Went to Pop's while visiting family over Spring Break. I get that it was Spring Break and things were busy, but we were pretty disappointed. It had been raining earlier, and our first two tables were situated under roof/canopy areas where several people in our party would have had water dripping on them throughout the meal. Finally got a table that was dry, but then we were really close to the main bar and there was a lot of cigarette smoke. It's 2026, so we didn't know we needed also specify we wanted to be dry and away from smoke. I did like a po boy special with key lime aioli that I ordered and they do a good tropical drink here, but I left here not understanding why anyone would make a special trip to go here. read more

Had a wonderful lunch at pops today with the wife and sister-law Have to admit the service was amazing, the view amazing as always The food was even better than ever expected. The salmon bite was amazing. Highly recommend. The wife had a burger and fries and it was cooked perfectly. Sister n law had a that Casey key salad was super happy. The best part is they have a drink called the Chum Bucket I highly recommend You will not be sorry . Now this is the service and quality that has alway been expected at pop's. My friend and I came to Pop's on Sunday night for a later dinner and to catch some football. We sat outside at the bar and our bartender Troy was great. He was very friendly and made conversation with us throughout our time there. We both had delicious drinks and ordered two of their salads. I had the Casey Key salad and added blackened salmon. For $28, I was worried that I'd be disappointed. The greens were fresh, there were plenty of toppings, and the blackened salmon was moist and flavorful. I left comfortably full. We browsed around the gift shop after the meal and as impressive as the selection was, the prices honestly scared us away. read more

We were seated right by the pier with a stunning view, which set the tone for a perfect evening. We started with piña coladas, and they were a solid 5/5--perfectly balanced with just the right amount of rum and not overly sweet. Our waiter recommended the shrimp rangoons, and wow... easily some of the best shrimp I've ever had. They were incredibly fresh and savory, and the combination of the sauce with the cream cheese was unique and delicious. For dinner, we ordered the Marker 10 tacos and the fresh catch of the day, which was grouper. The tacos were made with mahi mahi, which I asked to have blackened, and they were packed with flavor. I chose onion rings as my side. While for the price I do think an extra taco would've been nice, the freshness and quality of the fish definitely made up for it. The sauce on the tacos was spectacular--seriously so good. The grouper was the true star of the night. It was unbelievably fresh, full of flavor, and literally melted in your mouth. The coconut rice was rich and flavorful, and the vegetables were perfectly savory. We ordered a LandShark but received a Corona instead, but honestly, no complaints--we still enjoyed the beer! We stopped at Pop's with some friends for lunch. Most seating is covered outdoors with nice water views. Known for their seafood, that is exactly what we ordered. When in Florida I cannot get enough grouper. My grouper sandwich ordered blackened and was perfectly cooked. My wife also ordered grouper grilled. We both loved our lunches. In our month's stay, we probably had grouper another dozen times either for lunch as a sandwich or as a dinner as we ended up on the Atlantic side of Florida. Can't get enough of this wonderful fish.
