Walk up from the beach for drinks, or full service dining. Gluten Free options and very accommodating. It's super clean, lots of stalls in the ladies room. Terrific menu, good service, great view and beach vibe. Valet parking is a must because it's so bustling between the beach and the restaurant. Be patient, it's slow

Nice place and ambiance/staff, with live music. But food is super expensive! $16 for the pictured onion rings which were not special in any way or beer battered. Artichoke lobster dip barely had any lobster and was just all cheese without much seasoning or gooeyness.

This establishment is exceptional. The service was impeccable, the cuisine was delectable, and the vistas were breathtaking. I highly recommend the calamari; it was tender, crispy, and utterly scrumptious. The sauce was phenomenal. I indulged in fish and chips and shared a portion of the grilled shrimp. Every dish was exquisite. The views were magnificent, and we were fortunate to witness a pod of dolphins gracefully swimming in the adjacent beach.

Killed a big plate of these crab legs. Fresh and meatier than most others

First time here and we had a blast. Great drinks , reasonably priced... virgin drinks for the kids. The food was fresh and great. The location is the bomb right on the beach , right at the pier. Just an outstanding time

    Great drinks!

This isn't a good review because I've learned my lesson there. However, you can't beat a $9 frozen drink on the beach! The tiki hut in back is a go-to every time I'm visiting grandma for a drink on the pier.

The ambience here is amazing! We went while it was pretty busy but there was lots to do while we waited for our table. Theres a pier, a beach, and you can grab to go drinks while you walk around. They have a bunch of yummy frozen drinks, we tried the orange creamsicle drink it was delicious (& strong!!). We saw a manatee from the pier which was awesome. I got the blackened Mahi taco, delicious!! Highly recommend this place

Can't beat the view of course, on the water. Service was great, food was good lack seasoning, but nothing Tatar sauce could not fix, definitely would eat here again.

Quite a loud place, but that's to be expected for a big restaurant on the pier. Food was excellent, and there were many drink options. They are straw free!! Good for sea life! Very busy place, so service is quick!

I can't believe this place doesn't have a higher rating! The food was so fresh and delicious. Ask to sit outside for a beautiful view. We tried the shrimp and crab nachos as an appetizer. It was huge and sooo good. My husband got the Captain Sharky's Platter and I got the crab cake sandwich. Everything was perfect. The portion sizes are ridiculous and we left with a ton of leftovers. My son was also pleasantly surprised when he got a surprise popsicle after his meal. We loved Sharky's and can't wait for our next visit!

It's been a few years since my initial review, and after coming back, I think that maybe my last visit was just an "off day". We visited with a large group tonight, and not only was our food fresh and delicious, but we also had amazing service. I was hesitant to come back after my last visit, but we were blown away this time! We got starters - all of which we devoured. Our entrees were fantastic as well. Especially the grouper sandwich, the Aruba seafood, and the chicken sandwich. My Mom had the Ko Tao salad, and said she's never had a salad that delicious. We enjoyed our meal outside on the patio where we watched the beautiful sunset and listened to live music. What a treat.

One of the best water/ocean views in the area. Vibes are fun here! The sunsets for dinner are amazing, we always ask to set up top for the views to see the pier and sunset. Downstairs has a lot of seating and good bar area. There is a gift shop and they also have a few vendors set up on the weekends like jewelry, etc, the times we have been, so far. Staff is always great, and they check up often. The food, it is a touristy place so the food is ok. I'd give food a 3.5. Stick with the seafood dishes. Good drinks. Overall - a fun place to go for lunch or dinner and a great place to take visitors.

Amazing! The vibes here were immaculate. Checked in for outdoor seating then got a drink at the bar and waited on the beach for about 30 minutes. The service was great and the food was delicious. We went back for lunch the next day it was so good!

Touristy? Yes Fun? Yes Tropical drinks? Yes Frozen drinks? Yes What can I say but this place is touristy but fun and I really enjoyed sitting at the bar outside looking at the ocean and chatting with the bartender. I ordered the Sahara Sunset, which is a mix of the Piña Colada and the Mango Bango. Can I just say how perfect it was to have that drink and a tiki hut on the water? The place is a must try and I'll be back here in a couple days to try the meals, but the menu looks phenomenal. This review is for the drink and the service at the outdoor tiki bar and I'm completely happy.

Sharky's On the Pier Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Sharky's On the Pier

We are looking to get together with friends somewhere waterfront in Venice tomorrow, but I'm worried the rock band that's the entertainment might make it hard to actually have conversation?

I wouldn't worry about that at all. We've been there dozens of times and noise has never been an issue and trust me my mother in law would let me know if it were haha!

    Are you dog friendly?

Not sure, we don't live here but it is indoor and outdoor - they may let you bring a pet. I would call them ahead of time. They are quite busy and close quarters with tables, so bringing a pet may not be an option.

Do you have a children's menu?

Yes they do! It has the usual kids stuff like chicken tenders and a burger.

    Is it dog friendly?

No, according to a pet owner that was turned away. This is what I read of a review online.

What is a good time to attend dinner?

A little before sunset however I do not recommend dinner there. It is geared for tourism and in my opinion the cuisine is mediocre. However it is a super spot for drinks and a sunset and maybe an appetizer. There is a restaurant called Finns on the… Read more

Do you take reservations for lunch?

They do not take reservations except Mother's Day and easter

Do you sell gift cards? I have friends that winter in venice, florida and I would like to purchase a gift card for them.

Yes, you can purchase a Sharky's gift card and use it at Sharky's, Fins or Snook Haven.

What's the difference between sharkys and fins?

Fred couldn't be more incorrect, other than the two establishments having the same owners. Sharky's is the ground level restaurant. It's the more casual of the two. They have live music nightly (depending on the season) and an outdoor "tiki bar" (I… Read more

June 2, 2026 - Two for Dinner, our 36th wedding anniversary. (we had last been here a year ago for…read morethe same occasion.) First up - PARKING was awesome!!! we parked in their lot and had plenty of choices. yay. Second - When I had made a reservation for our special occasion I was asked "Inside or Outside" which I picked Inside. I was then ASKED "window table?" to which I happily confirmed yes that would be great. I then confirmed to my wife. 6PM, Inside, & Window seating. When I arrived I was quizzed if I had a reservation. Yes. Then I was asked did i want to dine Inside or Outside and I replied I had confirmed an Inside, window reservation. And he brought us to our inside aisle non-window table. When I asked why not a window as I confirmed - I was informed they only give them out when they are available and he can't guarantee it? I then asked "Why do you ask then when the reservation is made?" He just walked away. Probably not a good candidate for a public or customer facing role. As others have stated (and I in my first review) the staff and server experience here is highly variable. 1/10 Third - Our server was excellent and gregarious. we were seated well over 5 minutes until we able to tender a drink order, but then everything went very smoothly. The bus staff seems "nervous" and inexperienced, I had to ask twice for more water. The bread and butter was a little disappointing. one of the rolls was ok, the other either old, stale or did not sustain the heating process very well - inedible. There were two flatbread crackers in the basket as well. 3/10 Fourth - We both got a cup of seafood bisque soup. This was a smooth and flavorful soup. Chunks of seafood of various types and a little shot of sherry on the side to pour on. (my 10 year AA medal pushed it away - smile) 9/10 My wife ordered a Pompano special with scallops and the chef special vegetables and green beans. This was very substantive entree and she did bring half of it home. The fish was nicely prepared and properly cooked, the vegetables were cooked al dente and not just something on the plate - good job. The green beans so nice as a vegetarian / vegan plant based eater I am going to order them as my entree! 9/10 I ordered a shrimp cocktail as part of my main. I haven't had shrimp in a few years, and these were fairly decent. the cocktail sauce was disappointing as I am a Kelchner's horseradish and Heinz Chili Sauce kind of guy.... pink from the 50/50 mixture. The sauce here was a restaurant pack can of catsup and a splash of tabasco. yech. 5/10 Also as my main an Arugula Salad with Roasted Beets, NO goat cheese, Almonds, Honey-Citrus Vinaigrette, Raspberry Coulis. A VERY nice salad with an extremely fresh and beautiful collection of arugula lettuce, and the roasted yellow and purple beets were nicely cooked and prepared. The dressing was light and tasty and not some gloppy oil slick of goo. 10/10 Finally, our server brought us out a little keylime pie to commemorate our occasion, we were actually pretty full from the dinner and declined dessert but she brought this out and we took a few pictures!!! VERY nice touch!!! Thank you. I think the kitchen has improved over the last three reviews and last three or so years. The reservation and front desk and the service is variable and inconsistent, still. The communications and reservation situation is flawed - a reservation is between two parties - if we agree on something the expectation is we BOTH deliver (I arrive on time and pay, and the establishment seats and accommodates as per the expectation) Both should expect what was agreed to? Obviously this is all personnel and seasonally dependent here in Venice, FL, now that we enter the slow and less tourist oriented I think the employees and the patrons will be less wired and unpredictable. My wife and I have discussed a mid summer visit to the Crow's Nest - maybe for my birthday in August?

Once again went with friends who are visiting, I live close by. The service was worse than before, had to flag the host down after 20mins of not being acknowledged by any server. Actually our very first time here we couldn't get a seat because it it that popular. I love their chicken and dumpling soup. This is THE definition of comfort for to me. It tastes like a quality chicken pot pie with actual goodies, none of this whole farmland of potatoes, carrot, and peas plus some broth and butter and a shred of chicken tail and calling it a "chicken soup." This was a hearty soup with chunks of white meat chicken and soft dumplings. Basically chicken dumpling soup as they say, vs potatoes cube soup. It is a must have. I really did myself a disservice and only got a cup.... on my own vacation after working throughout the entire pandemic on-site. The gulf shrimp platter (I got blackened) absolutely delicious. I love the Bourbon Sriracha sauce and used it as a dipping sauce for my fries. You can also never go wrong with hearty mashed potatoes and their gravy. My fiance got some brisket pork combo (in the entrees section) plus mac and cheese side... so good!! This is a must go to place, and the staff are super pleasant. Zero complaints from me!

The dark meat fried chicken was also very good- lightly battered and right out of the fryer. I chose collards and mashed potatoes w gravy. The greens were tender and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were also good. The sides and a square of sweet cornbread rounded out the southern comfort food platter. Beer and wine is served along with sweet teas and soda.
