This place is absolutely massive. The location can't be beat, right on the beach and at the end of the pier. They have a store as well as tons of indoor and outdoor seating. The food arrived relatively quickly and our order was correct. The portions are on the larger side and the menu has tons of options for everyone. The grouper wrap got pretty soggy, which was a bummer, but I enjoyed it. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I think it's slightly above the average Florida touristy restaurant but the menu items are basically the same at all of them. The location and sitting outside definitely inflates this. First off, I love the atmosphere and service at Sharky's on the pier. After a day looking for shark teeth it's nice to get some good grub and rehydrate while in some A/C. Some of the prices on the menu fluctuate as Mahi and Grouper menu items are market price (minus some set menu items). Ordering was a quick process, and our food came to the table hot and within good time. My wife had a bowl with blackened grouper and enjoyed every bite. I got the grouper wrap myself, a popular menu item, and I thought it was good. It was missing a bit of an x-factor for me, I felt like it needed some more of the special sauce or would taste better with blackened grouper in place of the fried grouper, but that could be more of a preference thing. read more

This establishment is exceptional. The service was impeccable, the cuisine was delectable, and the vistas were breathtaking. The ambience here is amazing! We went while it was pretty busy but there was lots to do while we waited for our table. Theres a pier, a beach, and you can grab to go drinks while you walk around. They have a bunch of yummy frozen drinks, we tried the orange creamsicle drink it was delicious (& strong!!). We saw a manatee from the pier which was awesome. The food here was awful! I ordered blackened shrimp rice bowl. The shrimp was petrified it was so overcooked. My husband had fried Scallops which were also overcooked. Atmosphere is nice and the waitresses were good and attentive. The hostess stand needs some customer service training. You walk up and you have to speak first. We ate here twice in one day and each visit, the hostess stand looked at us like we had 3 heads. Please train them and work on your food. read more

I can't believe this place doesn't have a higher rating! The food was so fresh and delicious. Ask to sit outside for a beautiful view. We tried the shrimp and crab nachos as an appetizer. It was huge and sooo good. My husband got the Captain Sharky's Platter and I got the crab cake sandwich. Everything was perfect. The portion sizes are ridiculous and we left with a ton of leftovers. It's been a few years since my initial review, and after coming back, I think that maybe my last visit was just an "off day". We visited with a large group tonight, and not only was our food fresh and delicious, but we also had amazing service. I was hesitant to come back after my last visit, but we were blown away this time! We got starters - all of which we devoured. Our entrees were fantastic as well. Especially the grouper sandwich, the Aruba seafood, and the chicken sandwich. My Mom had the Ko Tao salad, and said she's never had a salad that delicious. One of the best water/ocean views in the area. Vibes are fun here! The sunsets for dinner are amazing, we always ask to set up top for the views to see the pier and sunset. Downstairs has a lot of seating and good bar area. There is a gift shop and they also have a few vendors set up on the weekends like jewelry, etc, the times we have been, so far. Staff is always great, and they check up often. The food, it is a touristy place so the food is ok. I'd give food a 3.5. Stick with the seafood dishes. Good drinks. Yes What can I say but this place is touristy but fun and I really enjoyed sitting at the bar outside looking at the ocean and chatting with the bartender. I ordered the Sahara Sunset, which is a mix of the Piña Colada and the Mango Bango. Can I just say how perfect it was to have that drink and a tiki hut on the water? The place is a must try and I'll be back here in a couple days to try the meals, but the menu looks phenomenal. I really enjoyed Sharky's!!! Their patio is truly to die for, fantastic views of the gulf and right on the beach. Lots of seating and variety on their menu. Their calamari was awesome. I was really pleasantly surprised. I tried their black bean burger and that was pretty good as well! I didn't love their sweet potato fries, not enough seasoning, but it did the trick. Nothing but great things to say about this place. It's a hoppin venue and it was great to be on the water and listen to live music. They are busy as heccccc so come early and get a table. It gets really hot and there isn't a ton of shade by the band if you want to just drink and enjoy. So I would love some more shaded areas but over all service was excellent and there was never a shortage of service . The only food we had were French fries but the frozen concoctions were amazing and fairly priced. Where sunscreen and beware of the Red Tide. You can definitely feel it in this area read more

We love this place. It's such a cute place to eat at right on the beach. They open at 11:30am & the place fills up fast. The bar area is first come first serve. They do offer table reservations and walk-in reservations. Lunch and dinner only They don't serve breakfast. No happy hour here. "Every day is happy hour." For drinks only, there is a line at the bar for ordering. Pro tip- bring a yeti to keep your drink cold. Next door is a restaurant called fins, which is owned by the same people & has a rooftop view of the ocean. Menus for both places are slightly similar, but fins is higher scale. It's crowded. You may have to wait in line or to get food. Parking may be difficult. But the sunset and gulf/beach views. The excellent bartenders. Great rum drinks and beers. Good appetizers and food options. It is an institution and attracts a lot of tourists and people who return every year. They opened up after recent hurricane damage. The outdoor area is great. Low key and the dress code is very beach and laid back - perfect! Loved the views of the gulf and the warm breeze. Started with the Cabo calamari and the lobster/artichoke dip. Both dishes were plentiful for appetizers. The calamari was seasoned well and not overly breaded. The lobster.artichoke dip had a good flavor and large chunks of lobster. The grilled flat bread was warm and super soft. For the main dish I ordered the chicken/shrimp drunken noodles. Sharky's is classic Florida coastal culture in so many ways. Cold drinks, long lines, sunburns, and crowds. None of them bad or good, just be prepared for long wait times in the middle of the day and likely not the best meal you've ever eaten. HOWEVER. Jimmy Buffett vibes were on point and classic for an on beach bar/restaurant. The staff is upbeat, accommodating, and lets you take your cocktail just about anywhere on the beach. We enjoyed watermelon spritz's on the beach facing bar, and a massive plate of seafood nachos. Great place to meet up with friends or lounge over for happy hour. We got a table fast as it was a Tuesday about 12:30. The outside tables overlook the beach which I love. They have a huge bar area and dinning seating on the left of that. They also have inside seating if you don't want the outside vibe going on. I ordered a Beer and a bowl of New England Clam Chowder to start. For the main I ordered the Spiced Seafood Nachos and added Bay Shrimp and Lump Crab Meat. Our soup came out first and it was very hot and oh so good. Our Seafood Nachos were delivered a short time later. The entire plate was covered with Nachos ands topped of with the Seafood. Everything was hot and so good. My wife and I shared this dish as it was so huge. You can't get any better vibe than eating right beside the beach and watching people enjoy the beach area. Our waitress checked on us many times. I will tell you this is a must stop if you're in the area you will not be sorry. I give this place a 5 out of 5 stars because of the great service, good food and the best vibes. The star of the show was the service. Our server (Joel) was very attentive and helpful. The whole staff was well prepared and the restaurant is well run. They know what they are doing at this seaside restaurant. We had a party of seven and all agreed that it was very good and we will return. A number of us had the shrimp and grits so I'll review this dish. The dish is described this way on the menu, Blackened Gulf White Shrimp, chorizo sausage and scallions in a sweet corn broth. Served with Wisconsin cheddar cheese grits and candied jalapenos. I ate the entire dish so I give it a minimum of 3.5 stars on the Yelp scale. It came as described and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I thought the sweet corn broth overwhelmed the dish and overall it did not have the look or taste of a traditional shrimp and grits. Once I found the grits they were good but there just wasn't enough of it. The chorizo was plentiful so that did help to balance out the sweetness of the corn broth a bit. I do recommend Sharky's as a must to anyone visiting the Venice, FL area. read more

We ate there last night and I'm not sure how to rate it. The place is awesome. You can't beat eating dinner on the beach! You can't beat the beachy ambiance in Florida! The service? Not the best. Our server's attentiveness was not great. He took forever to bring the bill and then cash us out. The food? Mine was OK. Nothing great. I got the breaded shrimp and breaded cod combo. The fish was not great but shrimp was good. My wife ate grilled chicken rice bowl and she absolutely loved it! The boys got chicken fingers and the other one got breaded shrimp. Never Disappoints! A Venice Beach Favorite Sharky's on the Pier is hands-down my family's favorite spot whenever we're in Venice Beach. It's the perfect mix of great food, a laid-back coastal vibe, and consistently friendly service. On our most recent visit, we were lucky to have Rachel as our server--she was incredibly sweet and attentive. I was torn on which frozen drink to try, and without me even asking, Rachel and the bartenders offered me samples of all their frozen drinks, even recommending some of their personal favorite combos. It was such a thoughtful touch, and every drink was super refreshing! As for the food--our go-to appetizers are the lobster & artichoke dip and the onion rings, both always spot on. For my entrée, I never stray from the grilled salmon rice bowl. It's a solid 10/10 every single time. They also run great weekly specials on fresh lobster and other seafood, which makes it even better.
