The staff was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and even informed us of the history of a "dirty soda". Service was quick but careful to make sure orders were correct. The environment is welcoming and I felt comfortable to ask questions of the menu as the staff guided us through what to order. The drinks were delicious as well as the popcorn.

Wow! This place is so fun and the options are endless. Also amazing customer service and the nerdy vibe is cool! Definitely will be back. Try the You're Killing me S'mores!

POPularity is such a wonderful addition to the area and it's provided yet another wonderful thing to do any time you are in the mood for a snack. Although I don't subscribe to the use of the word "soda" as this is Buffalo and that means it's pop, that is my only complaint. I literally hadn't drank any pop in maybe fifteen years until this place opened and we strolled over to get some popcorn (savory pizza or cheese flavors or sweet smores and caramel type foavors) and I saw it he whole menu. Every single thing they serve is a pop culture reference that is just obscure enough where you can feel like you really did something impressive if you get all of them. My go to is right now is the Groot Beer but I had a Grand Theft Autumn yesterday that was pretty great. There is so much to choose from that I guarantee you are going to find at least a couple things you have a hard time choosing between. I can't recommend the place enough. Try it out!

Omg I absolutely love it here!! I've been waiting for a fun gourmet soda shop to open in Buffalo! The menu is huge with so many amazing choices. I love Dr. Pepper so I've tried two of their sodas from the menu with Dr. Pepper and they have both been amazing. The popcorn flavors are also so unique and flavorful! You can choose between a 20 ounce or 32 ounce drink. The sodas are completely customizable too if there's something you wanted to add or change. You can also make your own soda and popcorn which I'm sure I'll do at some point! The space is decorated with a nostalgic feel. The service is always amazing when we've been. The workers are always so bubbly and friendly. I already can't wait to go back!

Dave and Mike are two of the sweetest, most welcoming people you'll ever meet -- and their local popcorn and soda shop is just as delightful as they are! If you love popcorn, get ready to fall in love. Their gourmet loaded popcorn is next-level with both sweet and savory options. Everything is made fresh, with so many creative combinations to choose from, and they accommodate a variety of dietary needs, which is a huge plus. I tried the pickle popcorn (I'm Pickle Rick) which is loaded with dill seasoning, dill pickle aioli, and crunchy pickle dillies. I paired it with Nemo's Coral Cooler, a refreshing blend of lemonade, raspberry, orange, cream, and a splash of Starry. The shop itself is adorable with quirky, colorful pop culture decor that makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. It's such a cool, unique concept. It fits perfectly in the lively, artsy vibe of this part of Buffalo. Their logo and branding are just the cutest too! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and POP on by (pun intended). You'll leave with a smile and probably a new favorite snack. A must-visit gem in Buffalo, NY!

Such a fun spot with so many creative options. The popcorn was fresh and flavorful, and the soda combinations were unique and really well done. Everything tasted great, the place was clean and inviting, and the staff was friendly and helpful when explaining the menu. Definitely a great place to stop if you want something different and fun.

I love this new popcorn and soda place! They have so many creative sodas and a make your own option. The loaded popcorn options were great too! We tried the Yo Quiero Taco popcorn (taco seasoning, queso, shredded cheese, and jalapeños over popcorn) and it was delicious. We devoured it. The sodas were wonderful as well. The staff was very helpful in suggesting options. We will definitely be coming back.

Great service with an awesome menu. We've gotten a few custom dirty sodas and the ones off the menu and they are so good.

I wanted something from Buffalo to take as gifts for friends I'll be seeing in California. This…read moreseemed like a fun and delicious gift to add to my gift bags and show some love from our home city! Of course, I couldn't resist trying some myself! I loved the black truffle popcorn- garlic, black pepper, onion and black truffle yumminess pairs nicely with a glass of wine. I'm sure my wine-loving friends will also enjoy this particular flavor. I also tried the salted caramel popcorn. Salty and sweet at the same time, super tasty. I couldn't stop from digging in for more! I ordered 10 bags, many flavors I didn't try - yet. Yet. Hmm I'll have to show restraint or else these will be consumed before I even leave my house for the airport! Order 5 bags and owner Stephan will deliver locally to your doorstep for free. He's a very nice and friendly guy. Very bubbly with a smile on his face and love in his heart. He did me a big favor of bringing the goods to me in the suburbs. I'm on a tight schedule and probably wouldn't make it to his store that soon. So now I see gourmet flavored pretzels will also be offered by What's Poppin. Something new "flavor mastermind" Stephan has come up with! I'm looking forward to trying them. Hope you get a chance to try What's Poppin - a real treat!

I met the owner of this popcorn shop on December 10, 2019 at the Brewed Awakening Yelp Elite event…read more It was held at Buffalo Riverworks. One of the few flavors the owner had left--I didn't see his table until the end of the night--was the Sweet Coffee. It was quite good. I saw on Facebook recently that his business was vandalized. I wanted to support him and his employees so I decided to stop by this past Friday. I have an all or nothing attitude so when I really like something, I get excited and buy everything. That's basically what happened on Friday. The shop is really cute on the inside. They have fun decor. I was greeted with a friendly smile when I came in and the cashier/employee was cool. He was quick to answer any questions I had about certain varieties. They have many great kinds of popcorn for sale. The front of the bag has their logo, the name of the flavor, and a clear plastic part where you can see what the popcorn looks like. On the bag of the paper bag, it lists their address, phone number, email, and their website address. There is also an awesome quote on the back of the bag. (The joy of the journey is best measured by the friends not the miles.) I bought the Bloody Mary popcorn and the Health Freak popcorn for my best friend for her birthday. I didn't buy any of those for myself so I'm not sure how they taste. The Bloody Mary popcorn came with a small jar of Tabasco sauce. The Health Freak, per their website, is popped in avocado oil and Himalayan pink sea salt. I lost touch with my oldest friend over the last couple years. We've both been busy. I thought of getting her and her kids some popcorn as something fun. Every kind I bought for her, I bought myself as well. My favorite kind out of all of them that I bought is the Black Truffle. It tastes JUST like black truffle oil. It's salty and awesomely amazing. I can't wait to buy another bag soon. A close second for me is the loganberry flavor. It's flavorful and wonderful. It tastes like loganberry but in my opinion, it also tastes a bit like cotton candy. The loganberry is my friend's favorite flavor. My third favorite flavor is the S'Mores flavor. It's so great!! It is popcorn with Lucky Charms' marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, and Graham cracker pieces added in. It's quite delightful and oh so good!!! I ate the whole bag in one sitting. Queen City Mix is their own take on Chicago style popcorn. Chicago style popcorn is caramel and cheddar cheese popcorn mixed together. What's Pop-In's Queen City Mix is cheddar cheese popcorn and kettle corn. I really enjoyed it. The peanut butter cup flavor was really good. I had some in the morning with coffee. I enjoyed it. My Lil Lady is really good. It tastes like birthday cake. The White Chocolate Raspberry is okay. It has raspberry dust. The big chunks of dried raspberry are a bit much. They were too surprising and sugary for my friend. She really enjoyed that flavor though. It has small white chocolate chips in it. The popcorn in it is good. The pizza flavor is good but not as flavorful as I would like. The Buff Wing is spicy and makes my nose itch. It's not one of my favorites. The Mexican Street Corn and the jalapeño (like jalapeño poppers) flavors were my least favorite. They tasted like pepper and made me sneeze a lot. I went a little crazy and spent $148.72. I honestly don't regret it. I'm happy to support a local business that has such a great product. If I go in again, instead of ordering online, I want to try some new (to me) flavors like (SNV) salt and vinegar. I'm not sure if they had any other flavors besides that one that I didn't try yet but I'm definitely going to check it out soon. I implore you to support this local business. You don't have to spend as much as I did, just stop by, say hello, and buy a bag.
