Also known as Stephen's Kitchen and Catering. I used them for my July 25, 2020 wedding. I don't even know where to begin when describing Stephen's Catering. The price, the service, and the food were all amazing. After our tasting, my husband and I couldn't stop thinking about the mac and cheese. HOLY COW. It was truly amazing! They are so flexible and easy to work with for large events! Amid COVID-19 Stephen also worked with me to ensure any questions and concerns I had were addressed prior to our wedding. Our guests raved and raved about how amazing our food was! It was so filling and so delicious. Stephen also quickly produced a rehearsal dinner menu when our original plans for our rehearsal dinner were canceled due to COVID. You can't go wrong going with Stephen's for your wedding or big event. AND GET THE MAC AND CHEESE! PS- they also have a deli storefront where you can walk in and order food daily. Made us leave our wedding.... The food was good, not as good as the tasting.. Very unprofessional and terrible communication with people. I wasn't even sure they'd be at my wedding until a week or so before when I made plans with them months in advance. Was very hard to get a response. Was very hard to get a price. The invoice was finally recieved on the Thursday before the Sunday wedding when we finally would know how much we owed. Nowhere did it state on the invoice payment must be made in full day of. Stephen hovered over family moments and made us feel uncomfortable until he finally said he was leaving and needed cash or check. At which point he seemed very disgruntled and the only resolution was for us to leave our wedding for 30 minutes to get cash when he could have just mentioned he took credit card. He was very mad when we handed him extra in all cash and we didnt even recieve a receipt. Anyways highly disappointed with the way they deal with people. Would not recommend if you're looking to enjoy a stress free wedding. By the time we got back to the wedding everyone had left. Basically missed a good chunk of our wedding because of they way they do business and lack of communication. read more

Located south of Butler along Route 8, this tiny little deli/restaurant and catering company is a true diamond in the rough. They smoke their own meats, prepare a variety of fresh meat salads and spreads, and offer a small but superb sampling of seasonal baked goods. Their hours are strictly limited to weekday business hours, making this a tricky destination for weekend road warriors. But if you are lucky enough to find yourself in the area on a weekday, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to stop for a tasty bite to eat or some takeout food for later. Recommended deli/bakery items include the homemade apple dumplings, cheese spread, ham salad, beef sticks, and ham loaf. Their fully-cooked BBQ is also very good and includes pulled pork, pork ribs, beef brisket, and ham that are all smoked in house. The lunch menu (M-F, 11:30-3pm) changes daily and it is worth trying the homemade soups and (if you get there before they run out) the delicious daily specials. Soups and specials aside, the deli-sandwiches and BBQ sandwiches are all very worthy of your time, money, and appetite. They also offer dinner specials Mon-Thu from 4:30-6pm for takeout only, making it a great destination for folks who work in Pittsburgh but live in the Butler area. I would imagine the catering service is very good, but I can honestly (and sadly) say that I have never been to a party that they catered. read more

Horrible rude people that work there! I went there on a Saturday and the sign on the door said the hours. Like it was supposed to be open, so I go out in the parking lot and call and they snapped on me because they haven't been open on a Saturday in years!! Like I knew that?! Then I called one day to see if they were open. They were rude!!! So I go there today I walk in, the lady stands there, no hello, just down right rude!! Never go there again! read more

Just walked in and noticed a slab of unrefrigerated raw meat just sitting by itself on the floor of a panel truck. I guessed someone was probably in the process of unloading it. I walked in just out of curiosity at 4:10pm and asked if it was too early for their business hours (listed at starting at 4:30 for dinner). The woman who was behind the counter was unfriendly and not informative. I asked about the menu, and she said it was online implying that there were no hard copies available. The deli case had several dishes inside, most of which looked fairly dried out (did not appear fresh). My subsequent questions were met with frowns, and so I decided to leave. On the way out, I mentioned the meat slab in the truck outside, and she said, "He'll get it." Several minutes after I'd arrived, I left and noticed the meat still sitting out of refrigeration in the truck. Not making any judgment calls, but I think the facts speak for themselves. read more

I stopped by Porky's because I was considering booking them for a graduation party next year, so I thought I'd have lunch there first. I was surprised by the variety of sandwiches offered because the place is pretty small, but decided to go with a salad lunch special instead - and glad I did!! The portion was large, and tasted great! Very fresh for a summer lunch. A small thing, but they give you carafes of water on the table, and being a 3 or 4-glass water drinker usually I appreciate that a lot! It was a nice, quiet place to have lunch. I asked the lady behind the counter what she recommended I try out of the deli case (thinking of maybe getting sides for my party...) and she suggested their broccoli crunch. It was great! I never had the opportunity to try the food while it was named Porky's (Stephen's Kitchen and Catering - http://www.stephenskitchenandcatering.com) but the food is truly wonderful. I didn't quite know what to expect when calling around about a week prior to my wife's 30th birthday party (also a short time before Christmas) to get prices, options, and ability to provide service. I chose Stephen's because he said he could put 6 appetizers as well as 2 deli / cheese platters together in the short window. He even stayed after hours on a Saturday so that I could pick up the food close to the party's start time. I was very happy with the quality and received several compliments from attendees. The food itself was pretty good. Mom and pop restaurant type food. We had a tasting for our wedding reception and Stephen the owner had every excuse in the book why it was taking so long to get back to us with a price. Weeks later we contacted him and he said he'd get back to us in a day or two...we're still waiting. Needless to say we went with another company because I want someone I can trust to show up on my big day. read more

We attempted to book Porky's, now becoming Stephen's, to cater our wedding. Our tasting was cancelled with just a few hours notice, via email. Luckily, I had checked my email before we made the drive. We went to the rescheduled tasting and the food was decent. Stephen kept saying he would email us a menu with pricing. We had to ask multiple times to receive it. He always had an excuse, typically citing "computer problems". We almost booked him just because his pricing was very reasonable. I had anxiety over if he would even show up the day of the wedding, given his lack of communication and organization. We emailed him with a few final questions and, three weeks later we still have no reply from him. We booked another caterer, who is significantly more expensive, but you can't put a price on peace of mind. read more

I recently attended a wedding catered by Stephen's Kitchen and Catering at Armstrong Farms. WOW! The prime rib was tender. The green beans were fresh and crispy, and the creamy smashed potatoes were REAL potatoes! Great job Stephen's! read more
