Our date was May 2nd. We waiting in hellish heat for over 5+ hours, were the next in line, our men had their suits and helmets on...it got rained out. Rescheduling was a nightmare. They wanted us to wait in the pouring down rain to reschedule for dates we had no idea about, or we were threatened to lose our money...period. After waiting an hour in the rain, and watching multiple fist fights in between angry drivers, they finally let us leave, and told us to call customer service THAT DAY to reschedule, otherwise our reservations would be forfeited, and we would lose our money. Welp, we did that, just guessing at a date. Little did we know, that in between May and August, my father in law, who was one of our drivers, would have to have open heart surgery a few weeks before our August 3rd drive date. However, since it was within our 30 day rescheduling window, customer service told me, that they would only reschedule my father in law, with proper doctor/hospital paperwork, and that the rest of my family would be out of luck if we didn't show up on Saturday. AGAIN, I bought these as presents to have a FAMILY FUN OUTING!!! Not for 3 families to go on one day and my poor Father in Law, who had to undergo OPEN HEART SURGERY, would have to drive all by himself. SERIOUSLY? What kind of a business steals people money and refuses to reschedule families? That's the worst business model I have ever heard of IN MY LIFE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. And I am going to be sure and let everyone I know, what my experience has been with this so far. AWFUL beyond words. Thanks for stealing my money. Not too sure how this owner sleeps at night. I have spoke with a manager and Howard Biggs can reschedule or be issued a store credit with a doctor's note. The operation is well organized and operated. My instructor was Brian Keslowski and was just a cool guy. Having him sitting next to me gave me the courage to keep my foot on the floor for the entire run. If you like NASCAR or driving fast, this is a must. You will not be sorry. Talladega GP site just over an hour from Atlanta which makes it a perfect place to unwind after a…read morelong week of monotonous work. The race track sits just outside of the Talladega city limits in Munford Alabama. It's a small race course (1.4 miles) in comparison to Road Atlanta and neighboring Barber, but still a blast to ride. The gate fees will run you $10.00 per person, and you get to drive in across the race track when you come through the gates. They added power in the pits this year so the loud sound of generators has subsided a bit and I couldn't be happier to pay $10.00 per day to run my tire warmers, fans and mickey mouse radio. The overall amenities are sparse with a few restrooms located on the premises and a small food building that serves your local "amusement park like" fare. The track is small and flat for the most part so you can see riders as they work their way through each turn. The view's are OK, but not great. Due to a lack of elevation the track doesnt realy offer up and great vantage points for viewing riders. From a riders point of view Talladega is a ton of fun. That 1.4 miles goes rather quickly if you're on your game. The track offers a great mix of banked, high speed turns along with some technical low speed bowls. It's really a great little track and it's usually a bit cheaper than the larger premier tracks. Tally is the best bang for the buck within 1.5 hours of Atlanta and that's what keeps me coming back.

The young lady that was doing the check-ins, was also the person that took photographs, and started the safety videos. The had one guy doing ride alongs, while another guy was the spotter for two Rookie Experience cars. If you have dreams of going fast, let me kill that right now. The course is short so it does not allow building up speed. You get going and then it is time to break at the turn. Also, the cars are regulated to a max of about 90 MPH. The track is also a bit worn and in need of a good repaving. The car I drove reminded me of a go-cart on steroids. You must know how to drive a manual transmission as the cars are stick shifts. You may also want to bring some water or Gatorade with you because the track gets hot and inside the car can become an oven. I recommend purchasing the in car video, which is way cool. However, if you have a Mac, you will have difficulty viewing the video. The video viewing software is only for PCs. The place was easy to find and there is ample parking in a grass area by the track. The entire Rookie Experience took me about 1 and a half hours from the time of the appointment, until I was back in my car (and I was the last person to drive in my group of 6, so others finished much earlier.) I was glad I did the experience, be it was a bit pricey.

The driver, Brian, was super professional, very nice, and drove very fast! Everybody working there was extremely nice and they make the whole process fun and exciting. I should add that everything was efficient and on-time which I like. The track is a bit weathered but the cars are loud and look great! We also got to watch some other pros drive a few laps while we stood in the pit area. We highly recommend the ride along and maybe next time we'll try driving ourselves!

When in the stands you have a beautiful view of the track and the hills in the distance. Beautiful to see. Getting concessions is surprisingly quick and the lines are not near as long as other racetracks. Maybe it's because of the size and the vast amount of service available. This was our second visit and the nacing never disappoints.
