Grilled chicken sandwich and homemade chips. Very good
    Denise F.

Enjoyed their Build your own Bloody Mary bar on a Saturday morning. Kickass brand condiments and sausage sticks were tasty, especially the hot pickled Brussel sprouts! Friendly and skilled bartender. We split their mushroom appetizer and garlic chicken sandwich. YUM! Homemade potato chips included with the sandwich and were out of this world!!! The place had a friendly down home feel. People were playing indoor bean bags which seemed quite fun.

Upcharge for salads because they made it sound like it's included.

Not sure where to begin... First off they upsold us with a side salad by asking "Soup or Salad?" not mentioning that there is a $2 upcharge I would have said neither if informed. The salad as iceberg lettuce with a cherry tomato and a small cucumber. I ordered crapy stuffed shrimp with au gratin potatoes (They were so overcooked the cheese turned to oil, they were disgusting. My girlfriend ordered Sweet and Spicy Chicken Skewers - Three skewers stacked with seasoned chicken, roasted peppers, onions, mushrooms, and pineapple layered on a bed of rice blend They were skewers drowning in this Asian sweet chili sauce she could not even eat them they were so bad, the rice was served on the side and it was bland. The bartender took our plates could tell we didn't like it and didn't bother to ask if there was issues. I would not go back here to eat again.

It is a little over an hour but an easy, beautiful drive with some awesome views. This was our first time visiting so we didn't know where to go for lunch. Browsing yelp and the internet, we decided on Bluffside Grill. Their menu and prices are what drew us in. It is located at the Jewel Golf club, so you park in the same parking lot. Upon arrival, there is hand sanitizer available and all the tables are socially distanced. They do have outdoor seating available with beautiful views of the golf course but it is shaded so it might get a little chilly. They have a simple lunch menu with some appetizers, salads and sandwiches. I started off with their beer cheese soup. It comes with popcorn which is a must for beer cheese soup. It was delicious!! Some of the better soup I've had in awhile. Next I had the hickory burger and fries. It was so good! They have the battered kind of fries making them extra crunchy and tasty. The burger itself was flavorful and just what a burger should taste like. The cheese perfectly melted, bacon perfectly crispy, and the sweet bbq sauce to top it off. Be sure to add onions on this one if you like them. Service was excellent and the prices were very affordable. I love when you find places like this that hit above and beyond your expectations. Great burger and sandwich place.

We got the pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork nachos with spinach artichoke dip, fried cheese curds, and the Swedish meatballs. All were excellent. A surprising standout for me was the homemade honey mustard that had great depth of flavor and paired really nicely with the cheese curds. They also have very affordable NA drinks as well as local pops with unique flavors like butterscotch root beer. The real draw of this place is their whole pay what you can concept which allows anyone of any budget to enjoy this place. With the three entrees, appetizer, and 3 drinks we decided to pay about $70 for 4 people to encompass both taxes and gratuity.

The two of us opted for the grandest option of All You Can Eat, which included a choice of potato, shrimp, and the salad bar. The salad bar area is small and rather crammed to the side of a back dining room, but it absolutely delighted me. There were rolls and butter pats, and a whole array of salads that felt like the same mix you'd find at a great Midwest potluck. I sampled several, but I absolutely LOVED the broccoli bacon salad and the Snickers salad! My husband opted for the simple lettuce salad with croutons. Service was consistently slow during our visit, just as a matter of timing--they looked short-staffed during the lunch rush, and the workers were being run off their feet! They were moving nonstop. I had broiled fish with shrimp and a baked potato. Perfectly cooked, flavorful fish. I loved the breading on the shrimp. I had butter and sour cream along with my potato. I didn't get seconds. My husband had the standard fried fish, shrimp, and fries, and really enjoyed them, and he did request a few more pieces of fish. They came out, piping hot. I want to come back here sometime and try the pie!

I had the soup special, a bowl of the French Onion Soup, and my wife had the Pub Burger. Although both dishes were presented attractively, neither one had a "wow" factor, and in fact, were bland and lacking in flavor. It's too bad because,I was really in the mood for Onion Soup. The onions were cooked well, but the soup really was lacking in taste. I think the broth tasted like canned broth and did not have any depth of flavor. My wife felt the same way about the hamburger; it also was bland. So neither dish was particularly memorable. So one less star for food. They also loose another star for their continued surcharge for both a credit card and a debit card. When I rated this place two years ago, they were charging a 5% "employee pay supplement" which is no longer legal. However, it is also illegal to charge a 3% surcharge on both credit cards and debit cards (this new law was effective in January of 2025). Restaurants CAN charge for credit cards, but it is illegal to surcharge for debit cards. In fact, not only is this a Minnesota law, it is a Federal law, and part of the rules for Visa and Mastercard. Another option is that restaurants CAN give a cash discount from the menu, but to do that the menu must show prices using the credit card price and state that they give a (in this case) a 3% discount for cash (note: a menu discount, not a menu surcharge). If a credit or debit card is used, then it must match the MENU price and the check needs to show the menu price total, and separately show the cash discount. I tried to show the General Manager this law and explain it, but he was very dismissive and borderline rude. At first he tried to tell me their was a discount for paying in cash, so I asked him if that was discount off of the menu price, and he said no. A lack of a surcharge is NOT a discount; it is a surcharge!
