This was a really nice holiday experience. We attended White Christmas at the Music Box Theater a few blocks away and stopped here for dinner afterwards. The service was great and the food was generally excellent. We came here on a Sunday for an early dinner around 6pm. To start, the happy hour is EVERY DAY! What an awesome deal. Both my husband and I started with a glass of wine. The service was awesome! It was our first time in and Kelsey treated us like family. Very attentive, food came out quick, they checked on us, etcetera. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for anything more! The brunch menu is split into 3 sections: sweet/savory/lunch, which helped streamline the process as well! I also ordered the french toast flight with a side of scrambled eggs. The french toast has 3 different kinds, all of which were pretty good but I think the true winner here was the bread they used, which was spongy and sweet. For me, the real point to talk about is oddly enough, the scrambled eggs. I'm not sure how P&P makes their eggs but they were creamy, buttery, and some of the best I have had. I did have a bite of steak as well which was cooked well! Lastly, because it was my friend's birthday, platters of beignets were brought over free of charge for the table to share. Unfortunately I was sugared out from the french toast, but next time! Staff were SO nice and smiley and made the experience run seamlessly, they obviously know their stuff and how to run ship. Our server even brought multiple copies of the receipt with each seat split out. She did all of this without our asking. Last thing! Southport is really fun, so I suggest making a full day out of being in the area and perhaps start the day at P&P. read more

Everything was outstanding. We came here after the Pirates vs Cubs game. Our bartender and primary server, I think his name was Kelsey, was amazing. He was interactive, attentive, and very funny. I had the Birria Quesadillas and a couple of Santorini mule. They were made well and tasted great. My girlfriend got meatballs, salad, and a glass of the Boutari Moscofilero and really enjoyed them. This was our last stop for restaurant week 2024!!! We had 2 different brunch spots booked and ended up deciding on this restaurant over the other. Went with this restaurant cause we wanted to try a restaurant in the different neighborhood. So often our default is eating in Fulton market or West Loop, so wanted to try something different. Awesome value for $25 to have brunch, dessert and a cocktail. This establishment has been a part of this neighborhood for a significant period of time. The owner (Steve) was present to and jumped right in with servicing the brunch time rush. It was definitely very busy from 11 AM until about 12:15. Once the establishment got there groove on regarding brunch things started to roll out pretty promptly. For food I got the grits and shrimp brunch item. That was definitely tasty and filling. The quality of the grits were definitely better than most. 4 drinks I got a glass of Prosecco which was chilled perfectly. Additionally I got a Greek liquor Spritz, named Ionia Mastika Spritz. Both drinks were really good and refreshing, I would come back for happy hour as they have some deals. I could see this place being really cute with the patio open during summer. All in all a very enjoyable time, I will say that they have 2 separate areas a bar and dining area. We sat in the dining area and it was very acoustic. read more

A fun and lively neighborhood spot! Went recently with a group for brunch and had a great experience. Staff was super friendly and the food came out quickly even with our large party size. The mimosas were solid and the bulk of the menu was definitely reasonably priced by Chicago standards. Everything looked delicious and it was difficult to decide what to order! After much internal debate, I ordered the avocado toast and was really impressed by how fresh the ingredients were and how well the dish's components were cooked. I was excited by the intriguing combo of pesto and herbed cream cheese, but wished that those toppings were more heavily applied as the flavors were lost a bit. Two of us ordered the Ultimate PNP Omelet and it was ah-mazing. normally I'm not a huge fan of omelets as I find the eggs drown the other flavors however this dish was full of flavor and every bit was rich and delicious. The food is pretty good and depending on the bartender, they make delicious mock tails. They also have homemade lemonade that is also pretty good. I give it 4/5 stars because this is the 2nd time I've come and the order arrived not as ordered. We each ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo and both arrived with fried chicken. I let the runner know as soon as he brought it and he said that he wouldn't take the food but would bring us the chorizo on the side asap. After 10 minutes, there was no chorizo, so decided to eat what we had before it got too cold. It never came and there was never any acknowledgment about it. Overall, I would return. So here is another discovery for not only brunch but a variation on a theme for bottomless mimosas. So two things made this visit a winner for me, the menu and the mimosa kit for 4 (four juices and 2 bottles of sparkling wine plus $10 for additional bottles). Brunch is absolutely my favorite meal and food group, so I am always happy to find new places to satisfy that need and Port and Park hit that sweet spot. I ordered my tried and true, Chilaquiles, but with a twist....fried chicken. That was interesting and tasty. The Queen and I split the Berry Compote French Toast (stuffed with vanilla mascarpone and topped with berry compote and crunchy granola). No syrup was required as far as we were concerned. The Doctor got the Corn Beef Hash and The Queen got Steak and Eggs (her tried and true). Both cleaned their plates with no complaints. The mimosa pack was a winner. The juice situation was four juices in cans and that worked for me. Juices were replaced as needed as well as bottles. Service was great. The woman that waited on us was on top of us as far as making sure we had what we needed and another woman (the owner I believe) stopped over a couple of times to check on us as well, which was ver nice. The only SNAFU was after the meal. I made a reservation through OpenTable and when I arrived, I did check in at the host station. But I found out later in the day that the host had not checked me through OpenTable. I love OpenTable and they are on point with following up, so I got an email after the meal about the fact that I had not checked into the restaurant. I was able to follow up with OpenTable to let them know that I had not flaked on my reservation. OpenTable responded back that same day to let me know that they did check with Port and Park that we were in attendance, so no harm, no foul and I have already made a reservation to go back with the fam and my BFFs. read more

Really loved our experience at Port & Park! The restaurant is located on the corner of Southport & Irving Park (hence the name), but despite being on the corner of a busy street, the patio seating is nestled off Southport and is surprisingly quiet. There are bistro lights strung above the patio space and it feels very cute and quaint. Also: dog friendly ;) Our server was a delight and so accommodating. We started with cheese curds and fried calamari (we did NOT come to watch our figures). From that point on I knew this place was going to be a winner. The curds were served with a jam which was SO good and complimented the flavors perfectly. Why have I never had cheese curds with jam? Seriously elevated the entire experience. Calamari was tasty too, though the breading is super delicate so we had to be careful picking it up to make sure we didn't drop it in the sauce. For the main course, I went with the burger. Seriously one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The flavor was so good that I can only assume it's char grilled. It's a double patty burger and has bacon, aioli, tomatoes, and caramelized onions on it. Needless to say, it's huge and will get you through lunch the next day too. Fries it came with were crispy. My date ordered the fish n chips and as a self proclaimed fish n chip connoisseur, I was a bit worried. But he LOVED it and is already talking about coming back. Port and Park has quickly become my go to place when I want outdoor sitting or meeting up with friends. I have visited the restaurant three times in the month of July! I love that you can make reservations so easily on Yelp and they also have enough sitting that you can find as table (depending on the size of your group). I have seen them quickly accommodate a large group of six plus on a Sunday after 1pm. I came with a party of four on a Sunday during peak brunch hours and easily got a sit. They do recommend you calling ahead if you have a party of six. They offer outdoor sitting and indoor sitting. They have a few tables that are by the windows so if you aren't 100% with dining inside just yet that is an option. The staff is very friendly and I've seen the owners around the few times I've been. The owners seem to be committed to making sure customers are enjoying themselves. They are also following some moderate COVID practices since the city fully opened up i.e. offering hand sanitizer, spaced out tables, limited capacity, etc. I've had the brunch twice and dinner once and haven't been disappointed. Port and Park does not play about their mimosas. The champagne to OJ ratio will make you asking for a little more OJ. I would highly recommend getting the bottomless mimosas but it does require a purchase of an Entree. The menu is a classic American style menu. It kind of all over the place, they offer hamburgers to chilaquiles to bagel and lox. I've been to the restaurant with different groups during my past three visits and they seem to offer something for everyone. The pancakes unbelievably delicious. It's one of the dishes that I will not past up if visit during a time that they offer them. The prices align with Lakeview prices but some dishes are smaller than expected such as the Chicago skillet but the Park Burger will easily give you two meals. Absolute gem of restaurant within walking distance of the Music Box Theatre! Our film ended earlier than expected, and we couldn't get an earlier table at the Italian place I'd booked in advance. But a quick call to this lovely spot and they sat us straight away! No wait at all, even in a busy day with an street fair and a Cubs game! I was able to score some fantastic vegan tacos that came with a surprise side of delicious fries! Generous portions, all very flavorful. I ordered the Mango Tango cocktail and it was perfect.
