    Rolled Walnut Baklava.

I've been here for drinks before and another location for dinner but this was my first time on the patio and I loveddd it! Vibes are so good. I made a big group reservation and it was perfect, the service was so good too! My favorite thing at Avli that sets it apart from other Mediterranean spots are the zucchini chips. I love them! A must get. This time I also got a spritz and the chicken soulvaki which was so flavorful and delicious! They also brought us a baklava on the house because my friends order was messed up. Definitely will be back, a solid spot.

This place has been on my list for a while now and I'm so glad I finally got to go! I ordered the gyro plate which was a ton of food (exactly what I wanted). I got tzatziki and spicy aioli on the side which was a yummy add. The breakfast sandwich my friend got looked amazing. The hummus was good, but nothing I'd rave about. However I really want to try their other spreads next time. I also enjoyed my drink a lot! I forgot what it was called but it had the "favorites" symbol next to it lol

Avli has really solid food, especially for vegetarians! I've been to their downtown location, and the Lincoln Park location is just as cute. They have a really nice big outdoor patio. We shared wine, a sampler of their dips, and the flaming cheese. I really enjoyed their hummus! The only thing I will say is that we came for happy hour, which online it says is from 3-6. We sat on the patio because it was nice out, but our server informed us that happy hour is inside at the bar only. That is fine - except no where on their happy hour menu do they say this! And we were not the only people who did not know this. We heard the table next to us also asking for a happy hour menu. If you're going to do happy hour at the bar only, that needs to be very clear! I felt tricked! And at that point we did not want to move inside. I would still come back because their food is great but now I know that if I want happy hour, you have to snag a bar seat.

Make it a memorable girls night out to Avli Greek Taverna! Love how you can do family style serving. Great reco's from the waiter on top dishes & amount of food. Def recommend: Toast with signature cocktails & mocktails with Greek inspiration Dip trio with hummus, feta spread, red pepper hummus and fresh pita Flaming saganaki is a must-do table side Phyllo wrapped shrimp are a great sharable Moussaka was a deliciously hearty portion

$30 blackened salmon and $13 grilled broccoli.

Sadly another old haunt has succumbed to margin management and shrinkflation. Portions of the mezze were literally halved, the Saganaki was all lemon juice with only hints of honey, the watermelon salad was half the portion that it was before, the main was a sad piece of salmon over bare basmati rice with not a drop of sauce or grilled vegetable ($30 before tax and service), the grilled broccoli was another $13 before tax and service. And we were given a back room. Bye Avli Lincoln Park, never again. The almost $200 bill will bring us much more in many other restaurants.

Cute little Greek restaurant in Lincoln Park. The service was attentive and went the extra mile. The food was good, but it felt like something I could have made at home. The charred broccoli tasted similar to boiled broccoli with a light seasoning. Next time I would try something different.

Who knew they had such a big patio! And great wine and cocktails! For the Pikila we did the hummus, tzatziki, and tirokafteri. The tirokafteri was super tasty and not spicy and the hummus was pretty good too, thicker than most. The tzatziki was a little thin and chunky but still not bad. The Greek salad was a good Greek salad. The kataifi shrimp were small but really tasty. And finally, the gyro plate, a classic. Nothing crazy, simple, but delicious. The feta fries are a nice touch.

Came here on a lovely Sunday afternoon and chose to sit outside under the shade. Our waiter was amazing! Got the persephone's punch which was super refreshing. We got the pikilia to try out the different spreads. Fav was definitely the tirokafteri. Hummus was a bit watery and taramasalata was a bit fishy. Also got the flaming saganaki which was breaded cheese lit on fire. Fun table side dish but probably would not get again. We shared the amanites pasta which was perfect. Al dente pasta just in olive oil and pepper, with really good mushrooms. We were both stuffed by the end. Will be back to try the rest of their dishes!

Very cute decor, large covered outside patio. Quite loud inside. Very friendly staff, my Shrimp dish was excellent. Highly recommend and will go back!

Great lunch spot and a beautiful patio! Would highly recommend if looking for a light, fresh, comforting meal.

    Lamb Chops

Byron was THE BEST Waiter i've had in the city for food allergies. No less did he triple check, but he did it while being so kind and made our experience amazing! The lamb chops were divine and tasted even better knowing I was taken care of and would be safe.

Very good neighborhood location in Lincoln Park. The Avgalemono soup is great. I also really liked the flavors of the gyros.

    Yes. There is street parking.

Is this a kids friendly place?

I have seen children there, not sure what you mean by "friendly?" There is no children's menu, and a well-behaved child is welcome almost anywhere. But think one should eat from 5:00-6:30 with children as not to bother adults that want a night out… Read more

It was the right move because it had the kind of chill vibe we were seeking after a long flight from SFO. Fortunately there were two seats at the bar with our names on them. Figuratively speaking. They had quite a signature cocktail list on hand, and we felt it was our obligation to try as many as we could. At least that was what we said to ourselves as the evening wore on. Each cocktail was $14. We started with a couple of familiar libations. Jamie ordered the Mint Julep, a delightfully Deep South mix of bourbon, simple syrup, and fresh mint (photo: https://yelp.to/u-td8LdPLj). I went further south with the Pineapple Margarita which was emboldened by a tropically potent mix of pineapple infused tequila, lime juice, and agave (photo: https://yelp.to/V-Sf6Q_2qK). We got a bit bolder with our second round and found mixed results. Jamie had the Not Your Mom's Daiquiri which amped up the margarita by blending pineapple-infused tequila with Bacardi 8-year rum. Along with fresh lime and simple syrup, this one definitely had more of a kick (photo: https://yelp.to/1ZijDf6wMV). However, my order, the Pontiac Pony, was a spicy miss for me. It was a rather oddball mix of apple-cinnamon infused vodka, pear liqueur, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and ginger beer (photo: https://yelp.to/5dQoFdzG98). There was just a harshness that didn't sit well on my tongue. Oh well, the mellow vibe was cool. The waiter said "we only use walnuts", we responded, no nuts. The food arrived and 2 of the 4 dishes had nuts on them, when I pointed it out to the waiter, he said "they're only on the top"! I happened to discover LNF during a Yelp Event when LNF turned into Rudolph's Bar, a jolly holly Xmas Extravaganza! I do not believe there was a single spot in the bar that had not been covered in Xmas decorations. It was total sensory overload to the point I did not put up any directions 2025 because I had seen enough at LNF. HAHAHAHAHA! On the strength of the food and drinks that night, I decided to go back once all of the Xmas hoopla was over. Going back in 2026 was a more subdue, but enjoyable time for me. As I mentioned in my 2025 review, even with all the Xmas decoration, the overall vibe was a step up from the typical bars around the Cubs playground. I would have loved a regular girls night out there instead of the last hurrah of me and The Queen. I had mentioned to her about the cocktails and the pizzas I had during the Yelp event and we decided to stop in before heading to the Alamo Drafthouse for a movie. Me and The Queen go the Spicy Sausage pizza and those fries, since I talked about the food to her. Again it was really good, with the crust still being nice and thin. The Queen did not think it was all that spicy, but she eats Hell Ramen Level 4, so I do not look to her for confirmation of hotness when it comes to food. We had cocktails and The Queen (because she was driving) had a Margarita made with a zero proof Tequila. I have to say it was not that bad and I got one and added Prosecco to it...delish. Me and The Queen had a great time chatting, eating and drinking at LNF, but were both sad that we were going to miss out on the opportunity to turn this into one of our rotation hangouts. But I will always be grateful for them introducing me to their Red Bull Winter Spritz. Since that Yelp Event, I have bought three cases of Red Bull Sugar-Free Fuji Apple and Ginger Winter Edition Energy Drink to make the cocktail. Not sure if it is exactly how they did it, but it works for me. So long LNF, it was good knowing you, even if it was for a short time. Deuces!
