Port Cargo is a fascinating little boutique off Falmouth's Town Green. It has international flavor, with decorative flair like a giant Buddhist goddess head&a central gazebo covered with fake flowers&grapevines. The clerks are very friendly&attentive. Interestingly, much of the clothes are made in America, even if they are in Indian, Japanese&Korean styles. I was able to find several pairs of casual&semi-formal pants, as well as a nice formal coat. When I went in the afternoon, the store was at the height of its rush hour, to the point that they ran out of dressing rooms. They had tons of items on clearance, so they had reasonable prices. I had a nice shopping experience here. Staff were very helpful, merchandise was attractive (and American made), and there was a sale going on. Keep in mind that this is a boutique, not a department store. Return policies are strict compared with a typical chain store (and that's not unusual). But staff will help you, and you are likely to find things you don't see in the mail. I hope to be back when I'm in the area again. read more

As a long time customer I wanted to exchange something for the same thing different size. They have a 7 day no return policy. I know they have it posted. I would even understand no refunds, but this was the same item same price. I would advise anyone to avoid shopping there. This is not a normal policy. DO NOT BUY anything at this store. They have a horrible return policy. I now have a $98 top sitting in my closet that I can't wear. Store policy is it needs to be returned in 4 days to get refund or 7 days to get merchandise credit. My story is I got the top as a gift with no gift receipt. The top is too big and when I tried to return it after the 7 days I learned about their policy. I would have been happy with merchandise credit. Sent from my iPad read more

Not worth your time! Although the prices aren't outrageous (unlike some of the other stores on Falmouth Main st) the quality of said products is still not worth the money you'd pay for them. The products (and store) are cheap, cheap looking...quite frankly they're very tacky. On top of that the man working there (by the way he acts I think he must be the manager or owner) was very annoying and slightly creepy when I went in there. He jumped down my throat with his pitch the second I went in and clearly his sales associates are taught to do the same...I couldn't just look around they wanted to pick items out for me. And worse than that when I did try things on the man working there was handing more things for me to try on WHILE I was in the dressing room! Definitely NOT a relaxing shopping experience. I disagree with the previous post. I like this store I think it has a unique vibe. Prices are decent and their sales are usually great. Have bought many items and have been pleased with my purchases. I have always shopped in the summer months with them so perhaps that's the better time of year to do so. I live outside of Philadelphia and visit Falmouth a few times each year. I love Port Cargo and I always make it a "must" place to shop when I am in town. The prices are reasonable and I consistently receive compliments on the various outfits and jewelry I have purchased over the years. Richard, the owner, and his staff (Linda, etc) are the best! We are from NY, but we were in Falmouth because our mother was hospitalized. We came up with 2 days worth of clothes, but we had to stay 8. We had had a rough day at the hospital and was scrambling around getting keys made, emergency phone calls made and lots of other stuff. We came into Port Cargo because we needed to buy new shirts to get through the week. Sales lady was lovely. We were bogged down with bags and supplies for our mother. We were rushing to get back to hospital so we were guestimating sizes and the clerk was very helpful. When I got back to hotel room, one top was woefully too small, ill fitting in fact. With the tags, the very next day, I left my mothers hospital bed to rush back to the store to make an exchange. Same shirt different size, different shirt same price...didn't matter...I just needed clothes. A different lovely lady was working but the owner sat perched on the counter (regret not getting his name, but you know who you are). We first complimented the clerk who helped us the first time as we were very overwhelmed, sad and tired when we were running by for shirts. This lovely lady then flatly, says...sorry, it was on sale, no returns. no exchanges no nothing. Just like that. Owner breaks eye contact and swings his legs. Of course I left with my too small shirt and marched over to a very lovely store up the block where they took incredible care of me. I just want to say, I was so hurt and so dismayed by that INSANE display of cold, heartless customer service that it was worth sitting down to tell the story. This never worn shirt could have SIMPLY been put right back on display. This was very mean, and very sad. This store, particularly this owner, should be ashamed of themselves for taking their policy so far "left" that they shunned a fairly desperate customer in a horrible situation. This shop is friendly and attentive. I "must" stop when I go to Falmouth. There shop has so many unique choices, something to please everyone's taste. Classy and chic! I always get compliments. I bought my daughters junior prom dress at the hanover store had a good experience, although I think the store is over priced..went back for her senior prom again good experience....had the alterations done by the woman they have in store was mediocre at most. Then the day of the prom came and my daughter went to get dressed and the inseam zipper broke in a panic I called the store who offered to have us come to the store and she could wear another dress in the store really who does not need alterations on a dress then offered for us to drive to Plymouth 1/2 hour away to the seamstress. The owner accused my daughter of ruining the zipper and offered me a $25 in store gift certificate. Really I paid over $400 on the dress and over $100 in alterations. Will NOT be back! read more
