Early in the afternoon of Friday, October 27th, 2023, I tried this coffee shop. I got an iced mocha latte. It was a sweetened coffee slushy with drizzled chocolate syrup in it. I thought it was quite tasty. It's very similar to the coffee drink served at Costco's food court. The service was courteous and very quick. I got my drink in the drive thru, and I got the drink instantaneously. I went inside the restaurant to use bathroom, and it was squeaky clean and modernized. The staff were quick & friendly but I give it a 4 stars because I've had better iced lattes and nitro coffee elsewhere. I'll have to order a hot coffee or espresso next time because I do hear good comments about the quality of their coffee. Great coffee, Miss the scones. All, in all, the service, variety of drinks, prices, are all good and, being local, that makes it even better. But about that app....mixed experiences. I've never seen such cheerful people so early in the morning! Their friendliness is genuine, the coffee is always on-point and the temperature, from kids to regular to extra hot is always correct. Service is very fast; usually by the time I reach the window they're ready to serve me my favorite black and tan! I nearly always use the drive-thru, and I've had no complaints thus far and don't expect to in the future. Their baked goods are extremely delicious as well! read more

This is my favorite port city java location and my go to. The staff are always friendly and the service is quick!

Fast and courteous staff. Similar offerings to the big name coffeehouses with more manageable prices. My favorites are the house blend and the slush n joe (ask for the Ghirardelli Carmel). When I first moved to the area I used the free wifi and didn't feel like a Seattle hipster. The atmosphere is more southern charm than MacBook forest. The selection of pastry is yummy and tastes freshly prepared rather than trucked in by corporate although there doesn't seem to be enough room for a bakery in the back. I definitely prefer PCJ to any other place in wilmington for my java fix. read more

Almond joy coffee is an occasional good treat. I usually drink black iced coffee and their coffee alone is good. The guy that works here is very friendly. Also, they always offer my dog a treat when we go through the driveway. My husband likes the Milky Way. read more

I just discovered that Port City Java puts an extra shot of espresso in their lattes. Isn't that great?! So it is 3 shots in a grande, I believe, compared to two with their competitors. The staff at this location are never too friendly, always do not really seem to want to be there. Not rude, just not as nice as other staff in other locations. I love port city java !!! I've never been too big into coffee but lately I've been on a kick and compared to other places I LOVE port city java might have changed my life . I like the one next to Henry's might be because one of my friends work there . The one next to the mall the people arnt too friendly . I tend to go to this Port City Java allot because it is closer to my home. The staff is friendly but sometimes the coffee is a little off. They have a drive through that can be convenient at times but it is much slower than actually going into the store. I would recommend the mocha shake, iced carmello leche, or the chai shake! Absolutely love the iced vanilla latte. It tastes even more delicious when drank with a lemon poppyseed muffin! The only negative I would have is that depending on which PCJ you go to, the iced vanilla latte tends to taste different each time. If you're willing and able, the best is definitely in the library on the UNCW campus! Perfect. Not too sweet, not too bitter. read more

Typical coffee bistro that serves coffee, mocha, iced drinks, lattes and a lot of other choices. They also serve a breakfast menu that is okay. What really sets PCJ apart from the competitors is their logo, menus and graphic design stuff is catchy. Props to whoever came up with their logo! read more

Best coffee joint in town! I love there sugar free caramel coffee and blueberry scones. They have a very nice atmosphere and that goes for customer satisfaction too. The sugar free caramel coffee is great for my bloodsugar since I'm diabetic. Usually don't have to take a large shot unless of course, I get it with a scone! They've always welcomed me with a smile and a "Welcome to Port City Java!" There service is quick and there items are not expensive whatsoever. Tonight, they asked us if we wanted some FREE muffins, scones, and cookies since they had some left over from the day. Of course, we took 1 of each! This Port City is one of my favorites, great room and staff, very useful meeting place.

This place is called Island Java now. At first I was very impressed with their seamless transition and it seemed they had kept all of the same employees. The coffee is Java Estate, just like every other coffee shop in Wilmington. I had hoped they would go with Island Roast which is roasted right now the street and far superior. That's not the issue, the coffee is just fine but about a month in, seemingly overnight all the familiar faces are fading away and it's taking days to get a drip coffee. I will still go here because there isn't anything bette on my way to work, but I hope it improves. read more

my go-to PCJ on my way to work! I've only ever gone through the drive thru, and they staff is always quick and smiling. I can't say it enough how PCJ always gets their drinks the absolute perfect temperature. how do they do it?! I also love the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich (classic and they do it with cheddar - so much better than the standard American that most places use). the other day I had the crumb cake and it was heaven in my mouth!! thanks for doing such a good job! read more
