The constant turbulence will cause substantial wear and tear, if not major damage, to your boat. The constant rolling at the dock tore a chock out of my toe rail within a day. It was as difficult to furl my mainsail at the dock as on the water on a rough day. Cooking and sleeping aboard are torture. The amenities provided are mediocre at best, but even if they were excellent, would not override the hazards of this poor location for a marina. I would rate this place zero stars, if that were an option.

I highly recommend this tour it wasn't congested on the boat and the service was friendly and accommodating. If I am back in NYC with others that wish a tour and easiest way to see Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and One World Trade Center by the water I'm telling you this the one to select. Rick gets you out on the water immediately. You will have fun practicing what you need to know. Honestly, in two 3 hour sessions he taught me to undock, maneuver around the marina & dock my 30 foot boat in high winds. Capt. Rick did not waste any time. He just smiled, he inspected the boat & he had steer the boat out to get on with the business of piloting. We went all over the marina doing all kinds of manuveers. He just stood next to me, smiled, and he calmly told me what to do while waving at the people watching us. We practiced until I could do it all with confidence.
