I only venture to the peninsula a few times a year, and this is one of my favorite courses to play. It's challenging, but the scenery is amazing. I played 18 holes with friends today, and it's in good shape. The greens are meticulously cared for, and the fairways are nicely maintained. We stayed for lunch at the Sand Trap, and the service was outstanding. The food was hot, and the drinks were cold. We will be back! read more

Beautiful golf course located in the Olympic peninsula. Military discount, greens are well kept, and a mixture of challenging and forgiving holes. Only down check was it was 80 degrees outside and no cart girl. That should be a standard out here. Friendly people and overall fun golfing. Would definitely come back. read more

Play golf or look at the scenery Hard to choose. Okay, do both, but be prepared for some difficult holes and bring plenty of balls. Shy balls will seek the seclusion of the trees, dirty balls land in the water, immature balls want to play in the sand box. If you have access to balls with ears, bring 'em. Do not rely on the posted rate sheet on their website. Went to play on a Thursday evening after 4 PM. The website advertises a rate of $30 with a cart. He charged us $70 per person. And told us that the cart had to be in by 7:30 PM, so we couldn't even finish our round due to slow play. When I called the pro shop to inquire, he told me that that was a golf now rate. It does not say that on the website. He tried in no way to retain my business. I have been playing out there for 30 years. They have lost a long time customer who has always loved this lay out. When I told him this he seemed totally unaffected. With summer coming on, they don't need my business. Hope they aren't looking for it in the off season when locals keep them going. read more

Great friendly service, an elderly man drove up on his golf cart. He asked what I thought about the course. I thought the course was set up great. Every hole had its own challenges approaching the greens. Lots of beautiful scenery at every fairway. He mentioned if we moved to the area he thought I would be a good fit for their Men's CLUB. read more

Showed up on a Sunday with two foursomes 9:40 tee times. We were told by the pro shop employee the restaurant does not open till 11am. On a Sunday? We called the restaurant at the turn and no answer. Call the pro shop and were told the restaurant is closed today as the cook took the day off. Asked if we could buy muffins, candy bars or anything and were told no. $102 with a cart. The course is ok. It's not worth $102. Won't be back. read more

12 hungry and thirsty guys come off the golf course and go to the outdoor patio at the clubhouse. We put a bunch of tables together and sat down. One of the staff came out, slammed down the condiment tray and a pitcher of ice water, which splashed on a few of us. She was very angry and said we did not own the place, we had no right to move the tables and chairs and then walked off. No doubt we should have asked first. But to be treated that was was unacceptable. We got up, carefully put the chairs and tables back and left. Probably would have spent $50-$60 a piece and tipped generously. It's such a shame - we were excited to be there and to talk about the wonderful course and our games. And the moment was ruined. read more

Beautiful challenging golf course, well worth the $80 green fee to ride. You better be very fit to save the $20 cart fee if you dare walk. The $70 club rental fee a little steep but nice Srixon ZX's (stiff shafts too if you want them) and 2 sleeves of golf balls. If you like challenging hilly golf, you'll love this course. This is one of my favorite courses in the area. I have been there for at least 8 rounds so far this year. The staff is very friendly, the food is good, and the course is awesome and challenging. They have some pretty good rates on golf now which led me to play here so many times. The only downside is that it can get pretty backed up sometimes because there is no marshal out making sure people keep pace. I have seen a lot of 5 some groups that like to take their time and nobody to push them along. The afternoons tend to be the best times to go for a quicker round. read more

For such a beautiful course, the greens were horrible and the tee boxes were not great either. Fairways need some tlc as well. Not worth the price of admission if you are a serious golfer. If you are just wanting some really pretty views and don't care about your golf game, this could be the course for you. We played Seven Cedars in Sequim the next day for less money and the course was in great shape. Don't waste your time and money at Port Ludlow. read more

Fairways are very worn and thin, teeboxes are in terrible shape, hard as a rock, the hidden doglegs weren't well marked on the scorecard map. A lot of duplication of hole layouts won't return. Need to mark CLEARLY bathroom facility location after hole 6 we looked couldn't find. Disappointment given the commute to get there from Seattle read more

For the end of March and after having record rainfall earlier in the week, the course was soggy and needed mowing. The greens could also be better but the weather has not cooperated for appropriate care. we still had a great time playing 27 holes. This place is worth the trek for a challenging round of golf. I started with lunch at Niblicks in the clubhouse and had a tasty reuben sandwich. The staff were friendly and looked like they were enjoying their workplace. I then went out to the range/chipping green/practice green - all in good shape and well laid out. And then got out on the course and was very impressed. It was quiet and peaceful, not many holes that are visible to eachother, and the greens were smooth and fast. I felt like I was playing at a private country club. The track itself is a fun layout, with a good mix of technical holes that demanded strategy with tight doglegs, but there were also many holes where you could just let loose and 'grip it and rip it'. I walked with a pull cart without much of an issue, but there are some hills to climb. I'll definitely return soon! read more

Overall, a fun golf course. Some very interesting hole designs and quite challenging. It's a very tight course, but not too long. It has a lot of sloped holes and many hazards to worry about. The conditions of the green on the day I played were rather lumpy. The range was poor (very wet, too short, all downhill and ran out of balls). The price was rather high as well the day I went. If you're coming from east side, I'd recommend White Horse first, but this is a good second choice. read more

Worthwhile course IF you are in the area otherwise it isn't worth seeking this out as a destination. Other courses like White Horse would be my first choice. Port Ludlow has higher fees than White Horse but is rather run down and makes you wonder where all the profits go? The restaurant is more a snack bar, the course is very poorly marked, the cart path in need of care and while it is in a picturesque setting, a bit pricey for what you get. Also as a resort and with so many players in the course, no Marshall or drink cart available. Signage is minimal so good luck finding your way around. The scorecard doesn't mention that Tidal #10 is really Timber #1 - we had to ask several times and then no signage to show you the way to get there. All in all, glad I tried it but wouldn't return again. read more
