We had an amazing time at Porta 23. Service, food and drinks were amazing!! We had the Guac & chips, pastel, calamari and mussels for appetizers. Pastel were cheese with a delicious green sauce. The calamari was so good with a chili sauce. Yum!! The mussels were also very good with chorizo and grilled garlic bread. For entrees, my husband had the picanha on a sizzling platter which was delicious (didn't get a chance to take a pic). My son had the chicken with rice and beans. He ate it all and loved it. I had the Moranga, an acorn squash with shrimp in a yummy sauce. Definitely recommend. For dessert, we had the best flan as told by the owner and it definitely lived up to the hype. Super creamy but not heavy. Can't say enough about the drinks too. Recommend the drink called District 26, frozen passion fruit margarita and the caipirinha. read more

I'm so happy this place opened!! First, THE CHEESY BREAD -- unparalleled, exceptional, brilliant, my favorite snack. Second, surprisingly delicious French Onion Soup. They have some really interesting starters, sides, and mains, and I'm excited to continue diving into the menu. Third, the owners are SO lovely. Every time we're there and we see them, they're chatty, insightful, and friendly -- always a delight. The staff in general are all wonderful. The environment at porta is amazing. Great place to unwind, went there with a couple of friends to grab some food and drinks. The bartender was super friendly and attentive, even after the rush he always had a very friendly face. The Espresso Martini are really good and the appetizers are great as well. I brought a bill for food without the conditions of a coupon and withdrew more money from the card than was in the bill. when I noticed this, he said that he had made a mistake and would return the money and once again withdrew the full amount of the invoice. the restaurant is terrible. the food is worse than the cart on the street. the service is terrible. My table had the mussels, guac & chips, and spring rolls for appetizers, and the picadinho, seafood spaghetti, and half chicken as the mains. The guac was amazingly fresh & full of texture, and the mussels smelled amazing! But the definitive favorite was the half chicken, which was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Porta 23 was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. The food looked so delicious that my fiancé and I had to try it, so we decided to go for our engagement anniversary since we were local. We started off our night with a couple cocktails and mussels. We tried their El Vulcan and La Picador. Just wow! El Vulcan was by far the best spicy cocktail I have ever had and La Picador was delicious. The best part is they use NO SYRUPS! That was big for us. We usually get mussels everywhere we go and let me tell you, these are at the top of our list now. The sauce was too good. For our main meals, I had to try the Moranga and it did not disappoint. It was very comforting and flavorful. My fiancé got the 1/2 chicken and she really enjoyed it. We also got to try a couple of shots of their house pineapple infused Stolinachya Vodka. Ask them how they make it and you'll have no choice, but to try it. So delicious and the smoothest vodka you'll ever have. We then finished our night with some of the best flan we have ever had. I grew up eating flan and I had nothing like this one. The consistency and taste had me wanting more. The owner, Patryck, was really nice and we enjoyed our conversations with him. His passion for food and drinks really stands out and he puts quality first which is what we appreciated. We are coming back for the flan for sure: that may be the best flan I've ever had. We told who may have been the owner and he said he has worked on the recipe for fifteen years and was making and giving away free flan during the pandemic. We also loved the moranga which came in the shell of an acorn squash with shrimp and other brand inside of it swimming in an alfredo sauce and over a mashed potato spread: that sauce should be on everything. I think the moranga will sell well. We were meh on the frutti di mare which needed more flavor, maybe crushed red pepper or something, but then again I've never been impressed with this dish, basically an assorted seafood pasta dish, at any restaurant I've been to. The cheese bread was delicious as well. The restaurant itself was lovely, though the rectangular narrow shape of it did echo a bit in terms of sound. We were invited for a private soft opening and would recommend this restaurant: hope it is successful! read more
