Happy belated birthday to me! I always loved coming here when I lived in Astoria over a decade ago, so it felt like the perfect "throwback" spot to celebrate my return to Queens. The Dirty Pickle martini is a must try and really hits. Now, add some birthday Pickle Back shots recommended by our server and you'll be up for anything! The fried pickles are the epitome of tipsy eats as are their disco fries and the Mac and cheese with double smoked bacon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If it wasn't so brick out, I would have spent the rest of the night at the front bar with the locals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

One of my favorite bars food wise in Astoria! I really love this Philly melt it is spectacular. The drinks are great and easy to customize (the blood orange is originally non alcoholic but we changed that). The service is fast the drinks and food come out fast and the staff is very pleasant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is great for any day - I've been coming here for years and certainly will be coming again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Solid brunch spot with delicious food and a nice outdoor patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything we ordered was great, especially the fried chicken & biscuit! They have a great bottomless option ($25 for 1.5 hours) that I definitely want to come back for. Service was good and our food arrived promptly.

The third time is the charm. My previous two visits were mixed. The first time, before COVID, my burger was tasteless. The second time, we had to deal with stupid bouncers or security guards before being let into their bar/pub. That's a huge turnoff for me, and it's only worth it for strip clubs and concerts. Sweet Afton is a hip Irish-style pub known for its craft cocktails, extensive beer selection, and upscale pub fare. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a cozy interior with exposed brick and a sought-after outdoor garden area that is enclosed in the winter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]  A few of their menu items include "Astoria's best burger" (using Pat LaFrieda beef), the Dirty Pickle Martini (featuring McClure's pickle juice), and beer-battered fried pickles. I learned that they have a sister pub called the Bonnie in Ditmars, which I have been to and had a great time. Last Saturday I came back for a third time. I was surprised at how things had changed; much more laid-back, with good customer service, good vibes, and one of the most delicious bar burgers I have ever eaten, with a side salad, in any pub or establishment in Queens. Furthermore, Sweet Afron had some nice alternatives to bear and larger, and I selected a cider instead. First, I was offered a sip, and then, upon my approval, a full glass of cider. In conclusion, I do plan to return!

Great atmosphere, service is decent and drinks are good. I got a couple drinks, but didn't try the food

This is a cute neighborhood spot with a Southern inspired menu. I enjoyed it when I first came here years ago and came for brunch just a few weeks ago. They have a bottomless drink option for brunch for just $20 which is a great deal if you're gonna have more than one drink. I like that they don't require the entire table to participate because not everyone wants to have more than one drink or want brunch drinks. We ordered fried pickles for the table. They were lightly battered and the sauce was delish. I ordered the fried chicken biscuit and it was very good. Everyone was happy with their food. I don't remember the name of the drink I ordered, but it was good. Service was very friendly. All in all a great spot.

One of my favorite spots in Astoria. I've been for cocktails previously but went for brunch for the first time recently. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. They serve great coffee and they do have a bottomless brunch option if you are into that.

Philly Steak & Egg Melt & Breakfast Nachos & Green eggs and Ham

It was easy to make a brunch reservation for a party of 5 on Google. When we arrived, they were cleaning our table and was seated within 10 mins. Three of us opted to participate in the bottomless boozy brunch, which was $20 on top of our entree. There were a few drinks selections like mimosas, bloody Marys, rum punch, and beer. We ordered an assortment of entrees like the steak and egg melt, green eggs and ham, breakfast nachos, and fried chicken and biscuits. While the nachos were good, I didn't see what made them a breakfast item. The toppings were tasty and cheesy as expected. The fried chicken and biscuit was a little underwhelming as I thought I had ordered the chicken and waffles. The sandwich had breaded chicken breast that was coated in some type of hot sauce. It didn't seem like it was made fresh and was quite thin. The best thing I had was the steak and egg melt. The bread was perfectly toasted and the steak and filling was substantial. It was cheesy and had good flavors. Throughout our meal, our waitress did not really come check on us for drinks, but there was another staff that kept bringing us more bottomless refills. We appreciated him bringing us mini carafes each time. I think we each had about 4 drinks and felt decently buzzed. However, after the brunch, 2 of us felt sick with intense stomachaches. Overall, the service and ambiance was good for a nice hangout with friends. I wouldn't recommend the bottomless brunch since I don't know what they mixed their drinks with and it made us feel sick.

Definite GEM in Astoria. Mature crowd, great cocktail lineup and craft beers along with really good bar bites. Before mentioned is the perfect recipe for a great local establishment. Staff is really friendly and patient. Parking around the area is a bit difficult but nonetheless definitely worth a trip, or two, or three.

Been here before for brunch, but stopped in last night for drinks. The bartender was excellent - super friendly and helpful with advice on drinks - and the Spritz Please was absolutely delicious with an amazing cherry flavor. Also had the fried pickles, which had a bit of a kick to them. Excellent spot to grab a drink.

The place is LOUD albeit with good taste of retro, 90's music and not the modern trash that floods the radio waves so I can rock with that. Place is sized pretty well with an outside seating area and plenty of tables inside the albeit dimly lit bar/restaurant. Coming into the place I was greeted by a blonde woman who seemed to be a supervisor of the area. She directed me to a comfortable seating area and a server took my order afterwards. The place was relatively busy so the wait for my food was kind of in the long range, about maybe 15 minutes. I ordered Chicken & Waffles with Iced Tea and the food was definitely worth the wait. That chicken was so good, a bit on the crisp side but it's solid in taste. The Waffle had such an awesome texture with the right measure of powdered sugar, decorated with Blueberries and Strawberries, the entrée was plated very well. The Iced Tea, I didn't know it was unsweetened so that threw me off but some sugar kinda fixed that. Service was also 'A' Tier. The place was busy so it was a tad on the slow side but they were very attentive. About 3 different servers tended to me whether it was about my order, how I liked it and paying for the bill when I was finished. That's dedication and I always give props to that. I enjoyed my visit here.

They have a giant menu posted on the wall to peruse. When we approached the counter to order, the person manning the register basically ignored us. When she finally acknowledged us to place our order, the interaction was taciturn and curt - no niceties. I ordered the single order pan-fried pancake ($8, but closer to $11 after tax). The menu states a choice between beef, pork, and chicken, but we were only given the choice between beef and chicken. The cashier also gave us a choice between spicy potato or pork floss (I opted for the pork floss), which was not denoted in the menu description. The menu does say it comes with veg, but what they really mean is lettuce/salad. The menu picture online is also misleading because it says it comes with an egg, and displays both a soft-boiled egg and beautiful runny egg cascading over the pancake. Instead, the only egg that was served was one overcooked fried egg (not runny at all!), and it was cold (but more on that later). The quoted wait time for the food was 20 minutes. There's a little station near the counter to grab napkins, silverware, and water. Around 9:30am on a Friday, several tables were filled, but no one had any food (the cafe opened at 9am, so I suppose the kitchen was still ramping up). My friends and I ordered variations of the same dish (the pan-fried pancake), but the dishes were served in reverse order - the person who ordered last got their dish first and vice versa. When one order is more complex than another, it's understandable when the easier/quicker one is served first. Since we all ordered nearly the same dish, this was not the case. The way things were being expedited was not efficient. When they finally called my name, I was excited to dig in, but the dish was cold! The beef was cold, the pancake was cold, the egg was cold and overcooked... I had half a mind to send it back. I'm guessing my order was ready earlier, but it must've sat there because someone forgot about it. Now technically, there are cold elements in the dish, if you count the lettuce and dressing, but there's no reason why the pancake, egg, and beef were all cold... they weren't warm, they didn't retain any heat, they were cold. They were also skimpy on the beef. The only redeeming qualities of the dish were that, fortunately, the pancake was still crispy, albeit cold and greasy, and the pork floss is a delicacy that gave the pancake a little extra oomph of flavor and texture. My friend ordered the Wake Up Combo ($14), which is the pan-fried pancake served with a soy milk and tea egg. Similar to my own egg experience, the tea egg was disappointingly overcooked (think hard-boiled) and not jammy like the picture at all. We all have bad days, so maybe Morning Brunch & Cafe was having one... but this is a skip for me.

The prices were bad here but the service and the food weren't great. When we arrived, we were scoping out the menu, they had it posted in a lot of places but it was kind of confusing. I did like how you could scan a QR code and when you clicked on an item, it was more descriptive of the add-on options or potential meat options. There are approximately 10-13 seats, so not great for a massive party, but good for a small outing or for take out. I saw a decent amount of delivery people come in to do pick ups. My friends and I were ordering and were curtly treated by one of the employees. I ordered the fried vegetable pancake with them since you couldn't order the QR code on the tables. She told me the options of only beef and chicken. I thought pork would've been an option and then she mumbled about the options for the additional topping. I couldn't understand her when she said pork floss, so I ordered spicy potatoes. The food also came out kind of sad and was slow to come out. The order was all wrong as I ordered last and then was delivered my dish first. It was kind of sad because I didn't even realize you should be able to pick up the pancake. It was hard to eat because it kept crumbling apart due to the pan fried falky pancake was a thin layer what just felt like crust. I was imagining more like a scallion pancake with vegetables infused or stuffed in. It also came out cold, and could have used a bit more flavor like a sauce or soy sauce. The spicy potatoe tasted a little undercooked as well. My friend ordered hers with pork floss instead and that tasted a little better. The dish also came with a supposed to be overeasy egg that is supposed to be runny, but was a bit overcooked.
