This is the third and last time I will come to this establishment. The staff is phenomenal but the food is not the greatest. Last trip this weekend with my elderly Mom and brother. Mussels, roasted chicken, and ribs ordered. Out of the the three only one was fully edible, the ribs. The mussels were dried out and crusty, had to push them off to the side and the chicken was tough for my mother to cut and the asparagus was tough. The chicken wasn't cooked all the way through! The asparagus was not mature enough to be eaten. Due to lightning we could not see that the chicken was close to raw at the core but did notice blood running when cut in too. Again, staff were great took, away the mussels and were very apologetic assuring us we would not be charged. Dessert was wonderful pan apple pie.

    Margarita pizza with balsamic drizzle

Everything was delicious. Tried the pizza, large house salad with steak that was amazing! And the chicken sandwich that my dad loved with the Cajun seasoning. And the server we had was wonderful! Plates can get pricey but the taste is definitely worth it.

Lit up like a Christmas tree.

The food was excellent. The service was great the ambience, although a little noisy was quite acceptable.

Great tap selection with local beers. Every dish ordered was amazing and the service was in point. Great dinner spot that is just a touch above laidback/casual vibes!

    Poutine

Excellent service, atmosphere, and food/drink. Ordered the poutine and soft pretzel for an app and both were delicious. Meals were pizza, steak and short rib and each were amazing. Salad was so fresh, raspberry dressing was delish. Portage punch drink was yum. We will be back next time we vacation here.

Favorite place to eat in Rangeley! Wonderful service, solid wine/beer/cocktail menu. Warm service and good country music in the background :) Recently opened for lunch with a special lunch menu. Highly recommended the bison burger or the quinoa burger!

The North Woods finest restaurant. A great choice for my wife's birthday dinner. Wood fired pizza was spot on. I had the meat lovers, loaded thin crust pizza that was amazing with a Lunch IPA from Maine Beer Company. My daughter had pizza too with sausage, she loved it as well and she is very picky with her pizza. My wife ordered the ribs, fall off the bone tender with a side salad topped with crispy onions. Interesting that the serve buffalo instead of ground beef. Best restaurant in the Rangeley area hands down. Sophisticated rural with beautiful wood canoes hanging from the ceilings. Like someone dropped a Portland restaurant in the middle of the North Woods!

    a variety of food items

Went in a Saturday afternoon in Winter. Popular with snow mobiles. Spacious with large bar. High ceiling that bounced noise back so loud. Seated in front of front door so chilly. Waitress attentive, friendly and great. Menu small but manageable for kitchen size. Ordered apps ...poutine with crispy pork and fire grilled brussel sprouts. BS highlight...crispy hot and tasty. Poutine somehow semi warm and pork just on edge of not being crispy. Good, but not a stand out. Split a Magaritiville pizza as main. Wafer thin crust with good ingredients. dessert flourerless tort and cheesecake..forgot to take pic so pic is generic similar of desserts..both well made. Overall worth a second trip.

Clam pizza on gluten free cauliflower crust. Yum!

Best gf pizza crust I've EVER had! I even had to double check with the server to make sure it was their gf cauliflower crust because it was that good. I had the clam pizza (don't turn up your nose...just try it! You won't be disappointed!). A friend had the BBQ Chicken pizza (on gf crust) topped with house made blueberry BBQ sauce. Oh and their lamb lollipops are melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Have also tried the Buffalo pizza and Bison burger. Haven't had a bad meal there yet. Will be going back to try more!

    Margarita flight special.

I believe there were dogs outside for patrons choosing to eat there. There was also a well behaved dog eating inside on one of the two evenings we ate there also.

The menu is hopping with excitement. Every item is a unique culinary masterpiece. From Pho Bowls to steaks to a short rib gravy meatloaf. The waitress we had was amazing & the place was full of life. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. The serving portion was the biggest I've ever received at a restaurant. The taste was incredible. The marinara sauce, melted parmesan, melted mozzarella, & perfectly coated & cooked eggplant will all satisfy anyone's hungry & discerning palette. The others at my table said their dishes were the tops. Run to the Hungry Trout & let it reel you in.

Our group came in on a busy Friday night and we were blown away by their seafood pie special. My son absolutely devoured their chicken fingers, which you would think would be run of the mill, but even those were outstanding. We were so impressed we went again during our stay and were again blown away by the nastiness of the dishes and the portion sizes. This is such a great addition to the area and I'm looking forward to going back for years to come.

Service was slow, there didn't seem to be enough staff as was the case everywhere we went in the No. Conway area over the 4 days we were up there. My husband ordered the fish sandwich and got the chicken sandwich (with tarter sauce). It took about 20 minutes for our waiter to return to check on us, at which time the problem was corrected quickly. Everybody else was pretty much done eating while my husband tried to quickly eat his meal. The rest of the food everybody ordered was good, the grandchildren were happy with their kids meals. Drinks were good, but again it took a long time for them to arrive. There just doesn't seem to be enough help in any of the food service establishments up there. Wait staff were running ragged everywhere we went. I don't blame the workers or the establishments, it's just a commentary on how much help there is available. If you go, just pack your patience and don't wait until anybody is hangry!!

The panko shrimp were large with a crisp outer crust, the Santa Fe burger was flavorful, and the haddock was cooked perfectly. I had a Bissell Brothers IPA and a Trillium IPA. Both were great beers, but they were served in the "fancy glasses," and after checking the volume against a pint water glass, it was clear they weren't full pours. The Trillium was roughly 12 oz and the Bissell around 10 oz. When I asked, I was told they change the volume based on alcohol content. At $9 a glass, I expect a full pint unless otherwise stated. To show the difference in pour size, I took water from the pint‑size Coke glass and poured it into the "fancy" beer glass they used for my IPAs. The fancy glass filled up, and the water left behind in the pint glass is the amount of beer you don't get with their short pours. It clearly shows the fancy glass only holds about 10-12 oz, and the remaining water in the pint glass represents the missing beer compared to a full 16‑oz pint. Essentially, a 12 oz pour means you're being shorted one‑quarter of a beer. At that rate, a full pint would cost $12. And with a 10 oz pour, a full pint would work out to $14.40. Everything else was excellent, but the beer pour practice feels misleading. Most people ordering draft beer expect a pint, and the menu doesn't indicate otherwise. Great food and service, but the beer pours should be clearly disclosed. I recommend eating here, just ask for a pint glass!
