And I love Spenceresque type of stores (If you didn't grow up with a Spencer's- think jokey/quirky items, funny socks, etc...) But we really came for the ice cream. I saw a photo of the candy dandy milkshake and I knew we had to stop here. A little disappointed there wasn't more milkshake options but I guess enough. The Candy Dandy was enough for 3 people (although my 3 year old totally thought it was all for him!) It would not have been my first choice but I did enjoy the frosting on the rim of the cup (this was my favorite part.) It was fun! The staff were young and having a good time. Planning from Arizona could have been tricky, but they were so accommodating and incredibly helpful, making the whole process seamless from afar. They are hearty. The couple that owns and runs this business are down to earth and authentic. I loved listening to them work together, it made me laugh when they had a disagreement, she apologized when I went to pick up and pay for my order. I told her, no need, it was like I was at a family home with real people having real conversations. Timing worked out well and we were doing a staycation in Portland and knew we needed to add a stop here one last time. We each had one last phenomenal drink; my wife and Apricot 75 that had a great tart kick of apricot and lemon. While I enjoyed their Chai Fashioned which spelt like a chai but had that boozy bourbon warming you'd expect. Dessert wise everything sounded good as always but we settled on two. The Goat Cheesecake and Pineapple Cake. The cheesecake was the perfect sweetness without being cloying and the blueberry sorbet on top paired so well. The pineapple cake was moist and tasted so good we needed to scrap the plate clean.
