The view of boat landing and lake were great from inside and from outside seating would be even better. We had a couple of fish dishes and a couple of pasta dishes. Friendly people and great food.

The panko shrimp were large with a crisp outer crust, the Santa Fe burger was flavorful, and the haddock was cooked perfectly. I had a Bissell Brothers IPA and a Trillium IPA. Both were great beers, but they were served in the "fancy glasses," and after checking the volume against a pint water glass, it was clear they weren't full pours. The Trillium was roughly 12 oz and the Bissell around 10 oz. When I asked, I was told they change the volume based on alcohol content. At $9 a glass, I expect a full pint unless otherwise stated. To show the difference in pour size, I took water from the pint‑size Coke glass and poured it into the "fancy" beer glass they used for my IPAs. The fancy glass filled up, and the water left behind in the pint glass is the amount of beer you don't get with their short pours. It clearly shows the fancy glass only holds about 10-12 oz, and the remaining water in the pint glass represents the missing beer compared to a full 16‑oz pint. Essentially, a 12 oz pour means you're being shorted one‑quarter of a beer. At that rate, a full pint would cost $12. And with a 10 oz pour, a full pint would work out to $14.40. Everything else was excellent, but the beer pour practice feels misleading. Most people ordering draft beer expect a pint, and the menu doesn't indicate otherwise. Great food and service, but the beer pours should be clearly disclosed. I recommend eating here, just ask for a pint glass!

I tend to lower my expectations a little bit when I find myself in smaller towns in rural areas, and this spot did a nice job exceeding them. My first time at the Black Pearl and I'll call it a fantastic addition to Rangeley, great space that felt well lit and comfy in a cold late winter night. Sat at the bar and had a really tasty blue cheese burger with an upgrade to risotto. Highlight of the night was the St. Paddy's special Guinness espresso martini. I had no plans for 3 of anything like this, but I had 3! Service was fantastic taboot!

More sauce on the fish would have been a 10/10. The blueberry margarita was great as well. the wings were okay, a little too overcooked and i would've liked to see some homemade ranch. The chicken parm was absolutely terrible unfortunately. Flavorless, the chicken was too thick, pasta was stale, and it was freezing cold. I haven't sent back a dish in over 5+ years and unfortunately I had to send the chicken parm back it was inedible. the vibe of the restaurant was not great as well. We overheard other tables talking about how poor their food was. for example "freezing cold chowder" "my burger is cold" "i could cook better at home" "i'm not paying for this". it definitely added a negative vibe to the experience. This place needs WORK and needs it asap. The wait times were okay, but the kitchen has a lot of work to do. I hope the new owners step it up, we love rangeley and come yearly, but for this place to survive they need passion and some blood sweat and tears to get this place up to par compared to the other restaurants.

Renovated back in 2018, this charming family-friendly sports bar is located in the heart of Downtown Rangeley and serves up the usual cavalcade of Pub food, from fish and chips to burgers and even pizza. You know, the four food groups. :8) The Good: *Terrific service by our waitress, Miranda *Outdoor dining (not sure if it's dog-friendly) *Tons of TVs for sports viewing action *Free street parking and you can also park in the nearby lot to the park. *Very reasonable prices (we're from Cali so take that fwiw) *Great selection of local micro and macro brews on-tap *Onion Rings were worth the extra upcharge *Carissa ordered some kinda haddock chowder and couldn't stop raving about it. *Pastrami Reuben was outstanding. The Pastrami was piled high and sliced nice and thin; the bread (marbled rye ofc) was crispy and toasted perfectly; and it had just the right amount of Swiss, 1000 island, & sauerkraut to make it perfection. The Meh: *Interior is a little loud The Ugly: *Not the place to be if you're looking for health food. I mean, yeah, they got a few salads on the menu, but not much else beyond. Conclusion: Terrific pub fare and drinks in a family-friendly environment. Highly recommended.

I sat at the bar - Marie recommended an Orono Maine pale ale with my blueberry pork butt pizza. Everything is made in house by Beth (the owner) and her parents Make the dough in large batches so it can ferment, and also make their own sauce - the love shines through in that very different but flavorful pizza. Not only do they sport their own brews, but they have a killer brick pizza oven to boot. The Good: *Huge outdoor space but oddly they don't have any coverings, like umbrellas, to keep you out of the sun. *Great views of the lake and people watching. *Service was friendly and pleasant (see below) *Nice selection of their own brews and other micro and macro brews on-tap, as well as fermented grapes, as well as a full bar. *Tater Kegs were delicious and a very unique item; if cheese and ham stuffed tater tots doesn't get you torqued up, then it's time to turn in your foodie card. *Bison burger was excellent and cooked perfectly medium. The concomitant brioche bun and bacon jam really sealed the deal, as well. The fries were pretty bomb, too. The Meh: *"No Pet Policy" is kinda wild, but kinda ubiquitous here in Rangeley. Which, to tell the truth, is sorta strange because it's usually rich people who like to schlep their dogs around and what do rich people like to do? Ski, boat, and fish--three things synonymous with Rangeley. Interesting, eh? *Interior isn't as big as it looks from the outside, but is still fairly ample. *They seemed overwhelmed on our visit and very short-staffed, as the food took a looooong time to come out. Fortunately, we were in vacation mode--and I had a beer in-hand--so it was all good on our end, but if you're looking for a quick meal, this might not be it. The Ugly: *The fact that they actually have to have a "Bee Policy" (see pic) is crazy. If I have to explain it to you, then you're part of the problem. *Their "website" (aka The Facebooks) is kinda funny place to be posting people with their dead deer carcasses. 0_o Conclusion: A couple of iffy deals here, but the food was fantastic--and that's what matters.
