This was my first time here - don't know how I missed this wonderful place, especially since brick oven pizza is the greatest food of all time. I sat at the bar - Marie recommended an Orono Maine pale ale with my blueberry pork butt pizza. Everything is made in house by Beth (the owner) and her parents Make the dough in large batches so it can ferment, and also make their own sauce - the love shines through in that very different but flavorful pizza. Brew the Coop Newish (ca. 2019) Brewpub located in the heart of Downtown Rangeley that's located in a historic (ca. 1912) tavern. Not only do they sport their own brews, but they have a killer brick pizza oven to boot. The Good: *Huge outdoor space but oddly they don't have any coverings, like umbrellas, to keep you out of the sun. *Great views of the lake and people watching. *Service was friendly and pleasant (see below) *Nice selection of their own brews and other micro and macro brews on-tap, as well as fermented grapes, as well as a full bar. *Tater Kegs were delicious and a very unique item; if cheese and ham stuffed tater tots doesn't get you torqued up, then it's time to turn in your foodie card. *Bison burger was excellent and cooked perfectly medium. The concomitant brioche bun and bacon jam really sealed the deal, as well. The fries were pretty bomb, too. The Meh: *"No Pet Policy" is kinda wild, but kinda ubiquitous here in Rangeley. Which, to tell the truth, is sorta strange because it's usually rich people who like to schlep their dogs around and what do rich people like to do? Ski, boat, and fish--three things synonymous with Rangeley. Interesting, eh? *Interior isn't as big as it looks from the outside, but is still fairly ample. *They seemed overwhelmed on our visit and very short-staffed, as the food took a looooong time to come out. Fortunately, we were in vacation mode--and I had a beer in-hand--so it was all good on our end, but if you're looking for a quick meal, this might not be it. The Ugly: *The fact that they actually have to have a "Bee Policy" (see pic) is crazy. Stopped here with a group of 6 after a day of snowshoeing. We came in with a big appetite and Furbish took care of us! Food was good! Big menu with something for everyone. We shared appetizers (tots, truffle fries, pickle chips) and then some pizzas. Pizzas were creative and larger than expected! We had plenty of leftovers for midnight snacks. My favorite was the blueberry pork pizza. It was an unexpected pizza combo, but it works!!! Drink selection is vast! I had a canned blueberry sour and I was super pleased. I will say we asked for water when we ordered drinks, and again when we order meals and we never got them. I understand we were a bigger group, but it would have been a perfect experience if we could have gotten water with our meal. I liked this place! Beautiful spot! Great food! Very friendly and helpful staff! I had the "steak special" and it was simply perfect! The steak was cooked exactly as I ordered, the potatoes were very creamy, the asparagus was tender without being mush, and it was all seasoned to perfection. I especially enjoyed the portion size, so many restaurants give huge quantities of sub-par food, and this meal was just the right size. The price was a bit steep ($42), but it was the best I have had in some time. My husband had the bacon burger with fries and enjoyed it (the fries were especially tasty, I kept sneaking some!). This is just the spot to stop in after skiing or riding. Plenty of cocktail and beer options, including Maine brews. The wood fired pizza (we ordered the Sicilian) might be one of the best pizzas we've ever had. You could tell the sauce was homemade (or at the least doctored to perfection), the sausage was flavorful but not greasy, and the crust was thin yet held up to all the ingredients like a champ. We came in from out of town and super stoked about any craft brewing company especially when seeing this house setting! The Special was meatballs and spaghetti. For me I am always wanting to try out the meatballs. Glad I made that choice! They were excellent and the sauce was freshly homemade. You could totally taste the tomatoes. My husband got the Hunters Classic pizza and the 1450 IPA. We ate outside on the porch to enjoy the sunset across from the owner's property. Totally recommend - staff was super sweet and accommodating. If I lived in this area, it would be a favorite. read more

This is a nice place to come for dinner. They have a nice outdoor seating area that is raised so you have a great view of Main Street and the lake. We stopped by for an early dinner mostly due to convenient location to hotel. We were sorely disappointed in the experience . Wait staff was extremely disorganized, to the point that a neighboring table was told " oh, I didn't know the hostess had seated anyone here". Restaurant appeared to be about 75% full, plenty of wait staff. Food took about 45 minutes to get, was hot so it hadn't been sitting. In those 45 minutes, our waitress did not stop by once to check on us, when food arrived we had to ask for utensils. Food was overly greasy and overpriced. We had to get additional napkins from the wait station ourself since the waitress had disappeared. Refills were not offered on water or iced tea. Music, temperature and video displays were all very good. read more

Easily the best food of our entire time in Rangeley and it's not even close. This place was a must hit for us anyways because it is a brewery. We ended up here twice, the first night just getting some drinks and apps. Both their Kölsch and Blueberry Hard Seltzer were great. Their tater kegs were delicious as well but definitely give their wings a try with their Blueberry BBQ sauce. It is a must try. Honestly seeing that sauce available on a pizza along with pork butt was enough to make sure we would return. I didn't snap a picture of the pizza because we devoured it before I even had a chance. Easily one of the best pizzas we have ever tried. The pork was cooked so well and the blueberry BBQ sauce is perfect on a great wood fire cooked crust. Try this pizza or the chicken pizza with the same sauce I assume that is just as good. Their cocktails were great as well, I'd recommend trying the jalapeño margarita that had just the right level of spice. Even while the staff seemed busy and overwhelmed they were friendly and attentive. I only wish they would have had more options of in house brews as it was only 4 at most I saw. But it just means I have an excuse to return back many times! I'll need to return anyways to have that pizza again. read more

I've been here a ton of times and it's usually very good. I had given three stars but will give 4, as everyone has an off day....that said, I see complaints about the same issue with other reviews so something needs to be done.... We got the blueberry bbq chicken pizza. The chicken was undercooked and so weren't the onions. Caramelized onions should be brown. That is how the flavor develops. These were more like steamed and flavorless. And the chicken was bland and unseasoned.... This also needs some additional time and s&p on the grill so it can brown up too (and develop more flavor). Last, the blueberry sauce needs to be a "less is more" thing..... my pizza was swimming in it, which made the crust soggy and really hard to eat. I only had one piece!! This pizza has been great when we had it before. I was really disappointed. Onion rings were amazing though!! read more

I was going to give this place 4 stars, but then decided I didn't have anything critical to say about it. It really met all our wants and needs for that particular meal. That is, we weren't looking for high end or fine dining. We were actually looking for a pub-type, relaxed setting. This place did seem to have higher end pub food than most brew pubs and the drinks were wonderful. It also happened to be a beautiful afternoon and we sat outside and enjoyed the view of the lake. The noise of the constant stream of dump trucks driving by kind of sucked, but that's not the restaurants fault and really, the lake, the beautiful day, the food, the drinks, and the amazing service far outweighed that annoyance. First, if you go, you have to get the tater kegs! I took a picture after my spouse and I each ate one and then gave each other that look, like, why didn't we just get 4 orders of these and skip the sandwich! We did get the maple bbq pork putt roll and onion rings to split. That maple bbq pork is great! Loved the sandwich and the onion rings were just how we like them -- thicker cut, well battered, and fried to perfection. All-in-all a super delicious meal in a wonderful setting on a beautiful day. Great location directly across from the lake. The breeze from the water ensures a delightful patio dining experience on a sunny day. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Helped us make a local beer selection. We were very pleased with our choice... the fl zucchini fries and pizza were perfectly cooked. Dough for the pizza was light and a bit too close to bread for my tastes. I prefer it a bit saltier, as well, but the flavor combo was great. Great new addition to Main Street! They show a lot of promise with a menu of comprised of many brick oven pizzas, and creative dishes. The blueberry wings, though over-doused in sauce, were very tasty and their Lobster Roll stands out as fresh and tasty. Amazing! A new addition to the town of Rangeley. From the street you are drawn in by the historic Furbish house, which for as long as I can remember, has been a successful Bed and Breakfast. I was excited to see the inside as much as I was excited to try their food. We came up the stairs and were greeted by the hostess who asked if we would enjoy inside or outside dining. Over her shoulder, I saw my perfect spot, two rocking chairs on the front porch! At the moment though, both were taken. We looked inside and decided to sit outside on such a gorgeous day. When we came back out, one of the rocking chair tables became available, we jumped on it. Our waiter, Will, gave us our menus and took our beverage order. When I asked about the brewery, it was explained that they opened 4 weekends ago and just got all of the required documents in place. They will begin brewing shortly, Stay tuned!! The menu is short and sweet a good assortment of appetizers, we went with the Blueberry BBQ wings. I am a lover of all things blueberry so this was a must. The sauce was thick and tangy with a hint of blueberry that was not too sweet. The texture of the wings were crispy and juicy. Delicious. We ordered the 2+1 Pig pizza which was fantastic! I liked the thin crust body, but bubble crust edges that had a nice doughy consistency. It was a little blackened on the crust but did not take away from the taste of the pizza. While we were eating the man who gave us the table we now sat at, came over to ask how things were going. We learned that this was the owners father, a pleasant man who had been at the restaurant since 7:30a helping to fold pizza boxes and helping get ready for the day. He told us that the dough and sauce are made daily with locally sourced ingredients with a recipe that has proven successful. This is a family affair with his wife helping to seat people, the owner getting drinks to help the wait staff, and all helping to clear empty plates. He also told us about the landscaping plans as well as furniture catering ideas. Over all we were pleased and satisfied from entry to exit a wonderful experience. We will be back for sure! read more

The place was very crowded when we arrived and seemed understaffed. Many other restaurants in town were only open for takeout so it was understandable. We got seated at a picnic table which was disappointing. The food took quite a while, but it was amazing when it came. The Furbish salad and Furbish pizza were delicious. I have really enjoyed this place each time I have gone. There food is quite good for such a rural place. They are a brewhouse so have some of there own craft beer on tap. I do wish they had more of their own beers as each time I have gone they only had 2 or 3. There beer though has been good. I highly recommend the tater kegs, which are large tater tots and absolutely delicious. Pizza was good and so was the fried cheese curds. Service was super friendly. Ordered the bbq chicken pizza... it was described as blueberry bbq sauce, chicken, chives and caramelized onions. It was basically inedible because of the sauce and onions. They did a really nice job serving us on their patio for lunch. Servers were masked our waitress wiped down the table and chair arms for us. The three of us shared a delicious sausage pizza and the pulled pork sandwich. Everything was nicely prepared, the beer was yummy, and our waitress was attentive & pleasant. We didn't get to eat there today but in the past it was fine. Our issue today was a rude hostess. We had 11 people and it was going to a 35 minute wait and that was fine. There isn't a place to wait inside so we were on the porch. She came out and said we could not wait there and someone in the group said, where should we wait. "anywhere, you were told it was going to be a 35 minute wait", was her response. They lost about a $400 meal from our group and a generous tip. A little courtesy and professionalism goes a long way. She should have offered us an alternative place to wait or phrased that differently, if she felt we were blocking the entrance. read more
