Chad Porter is a wonderful, competent dentist. He was referred to me my a neighbor in the military. I'm glad I found him.

Dr Suzanne restored that trust again and is living proof there are still good and honest people in this world. I will never take my kids anywhere else. Too bad she isn't a family dentist, I'd send everyone I know to her!!

The waiting room is fun, with books, an activity table, and a video game system for the kiddos while they wait for their appointment. Each of the chairs in the back has a TV for the children to watch while they are getting the work done or cleanings. Headphones are also available to the patient. One adult is allowed back with the child during the appointment. At the end of their appointment, they are given a token to get a prize out of a toy machine near the exit. All of the staff (with the exception of one of the older dental techs) is very friendly and welcoming. That particular tech pulled a filling out of my son's tooth during a routine cleaning and was very rude and in denial when confronted with it (after she just got done telling the doctor that she had done it but it had been by accident). That lady is the reason for the four stars, if not for her I would have gladly given five.

As a mother, I was very concerned. Tongue ties are getting diagnosed more and more these days and I was scared at the possibility of getting the laser treatment dentists offer. We asked the pediatrician what they thought and they sent us to sumner pediatric dentistry for a proper opinion from someone who has seen it before. I was warned several times that a lot of times facilities can over diagnose to get money out of parents by just doing the procedure. To say I was nervous is an understatement because I'm a new mom with my first... I felt at ease the second I got into this office. The staff was so caring and sweet and took a genuine interest in my little one. The dentist looked at my son's mouth and gave me so much honest advice coming from a father himself- and not just a professional. He was honest, genuine, and insisted on only doing the procedure if he thought my son needed it. He said he thought he was thriving as is. I couldn't thank him enough for looking out for my son's best interest and mine as his mother. I will recommend all of my friends go here, and I've found the dentist my son will see for the rest of his childhood. Thank you all so so much.

The staff could not have been nicer. The front desk was super efficient. You are able to fill out forms online which is awesome. Our wait was short and the waiting room was very nice and kid friendly. The front desk explained everything in detail which is always nice when you have several forms to sign. My child was so anxious that he wouldn't lay down and started crying. The staff was very kind and explained everything to him. We did move to a private room (which made me a little less embarrassed). Both the hygienist and the dentist were very gentle and patient even though my child was not cooperating at all. I would definitely recommend children's Dentistry of Gallatin.

My eldest son sustained quite a bit of damage to his teeth in an accident in 2008, and as he gets older, there have been some issues with the damaged teeth that have needed to be addressed. First, I do want to say that they can be difficult to get in contact with as you usually have to leave a message even during business hours. They do call you back promptly. I was told that they work with a skeleton staff, and that the dentist is not in attendance every day they are open (or at least this is how it was 6 months ago - obviously, appointments requiring a dentist are scheduled for days he is there.) They also have had a bad habit of rescheduling appointments since they don't have a backup if the dentist is sick or can't come in. However, most of the time (except for when the dentist got sick) they seem to call well in advance. Still, it's really annoying, especially the one appointment that took three tries. They do allow parents in back, contrary to other reviews. But they do recommend that parents wait in the waiting room, as your nervousness does make the children nervous. I imagine the review about the mother in hysterics over her child is exactly why the protocol is in place -it's hard as a mother to sit by passively if the child acts like the procedure hurts or is uncomfortable, and people rooting around in your mouth is never fun. Some people can handle their own discomfort for the sake of their children better than others, just like some people are better with blood than others. In my experience, they've done very well with my children, and keep in mind that right now these three are 8, 5 and 3. Even when my two youngest were very young, they did very well in keeping the children calm and relaxed, and treating it like a game rather than the torture I personally think dental cleaning/work can be. There is a little waiting room in back for the kids with games and toys, so they never feel like they are in a sterile, boring, scary environment. Finally, due to the trauma my eldest's teeth had as a toddler, he had to have a tooth pulled because it wasn't coming out on it's own and it was damaging the permanent tooth above it. He is my most likely to get hysterical over shots and other painful things, but he came out of the tooth pulling smiling, much to my surprise. I had some questions regarding the pulled tooth that day, and when I called the office, they had the dentist themselves get back to me almost immediately to answer my concern.

Decided to change dentist and they found 13 cavities. I have his teeth cleaned every 6 months. He brushes his teeth. Make me wonder how he got so many in 6 months or did they miss some?
