The experience was all positive, and the work was second to none. We initially had a leak in the water heater which caused water damage in the bathroom located on the ground floor entrance. Joe and Serge came to the house and wrote up a proposal for the insurance company which was approved almost immediately. They replaced and painted the drywall, installed flooring in the bathroom and replaced the toilet. The job they did was so good that we decided to have them do the upstairs bathrooms, and the laundry room in the hallway with new flooring and toilets. The kitchen was the next project which we had them do with new quartz countertops. They sent 360 countertops to measure everything and fabricate the materials we had bought previously. The work was done in three days. The floors were done after that, and everything exceeded our expectations. I cannot say enough to express how happy we are with the finished product. I would highly recommend these guys for any home improvement projects, and I will reach out to them in the future for any additional work we need. Two thumbs up to Joe and Serge who both went the extra mile to make sure we were totally satisfied.

The entire building is filthy, dog pee in the staircases, trash on the floors, never seen cleaners even vacuum the halls or stairways, only the lobby gets cleaned maybe once every month or two. The elevator in my building will break down multiple times a year for up to a WEEK at a time. Good luck if you try to complain about any resident, apparently smoking is just fine and dandy here! And management will dodge you if you try to confront them on actually MANAGING the building/residents. And I've heard from multiple people now about them "losing track" of deposits so you end up paying double what was initially asked or lose (in hindsight, "win") out on your rental. Run away from this management team. Seriously.

Our 1915 Prairie-style house had one small bathroom that had suffered a bad DIY remodeling several…read moredecades ago and had developed a leak into the kitchen ceiling below. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul, including new plumbing and wiring, as well opening a window that had been partially covered in the previous remodel. Other areas that needed substantial repair included a water closet with a single toilet on the basement landing, tiling in the kitchen, a microwave installation, ceiling cracks in the living room and dining room, chipped wall paint in hallways, the aforementioned kitchen ceiling leak, and replacement of outdated wiring and plumbing in the basement. It was a sprawling remodel-and-repair job. JDL came highly recommended and did not disappoint. They patiently spent a lot of time with us up front on the overall design of the project, from the attic to the basement. They laid out the cost of the project, including options, in great detail. The price wasn't cheap, but it was fair, and we feel we got more than our money's worth. These folks are professionals. Once JDL started the actual work, we were impressed with the overall project management, the exacting craftsmanship of both their own employees and the subcontractors, and the way they treated our house as respectfully as they would have treated their own. They cleaned up after themselves every single day, communicated about their progress regularly and made all significant decisions in consultation with us. The result is a bright, modern bathroom that nevertheless blends in perfectly with the 1915 style of the house.

The company placed a street light on top the fence post next to the driveway. As you can see in the photo, the height of the fence that boarders my back yard is 12-15 inches lower, that allows this light to shine directly into my living room, and into all windows on the back side of my house. This light is on all night. The garage lights are on all night, and do not bother me. The lamp post light is connected to the switch for the garage lights. Why is this light not on a separate switch, and why does it need to be on all night? Why is J. T. Smith Homes & Company wasting so much electricity? Do not do business of any kind with J.T. Smith Homes & Company. J. T. Smith Homes & Company are bad neighbors, and make their neighbors very, very angry with their continued disregard for privacy and violation of privacy.

We have flooding up to the foundation plus mud and loose rocks coming from the rock wall which jeopardizes the structure of the wall. The pump under the house is high and was never plugged in.
