I had heard that management had changed, so maybe that explains the very disappointing service we experienced the last time we dined in. We ordered wine, calamari, and two pasta dishes. When our food arrived, our server repeatedly asked if we needed a box to pack it to go. We had literally just received our entrees, and my wine glass was still full. There were no other tables dining at the time, so there was absolutely no reason to rush us. A few minutes later, another employee came over and asked if we needed a box as well. Then our server comes back and asks us if we need a box again. At that point, it was honestly becoming uncomfortable. We were clearly still eating and hadn't even finished our wine. Then, shortly after, our server dropped the check on the table without saying anything. My boyfriend finally spoke up and told her that we were still having dinner and that repeatedly being asked about a box was making us feel rushed. We hadn't even finished our wine, which was clearly visible. Her only response was that she was sorry, but there was no explanation for why we were being treated that way. We just left exact cash and just ended up walking out. Unfortunately, the entire dine-in experience gave us a very strange vibe. There seemed to be a lack of awareness among the staff, while the Asian manager was hovering around and very creepily staring, walking in and out of the restaurant peeking through the windows.

I ordered a build your own calzone with pepperoni, sausage, pineapple and jalapeños. I was expecting half a personal pan or small pizza but you basically get a folded over large pizza for 15.99! On top of that it was the most delicious calzone I've ever had. Perfect consistancy dough with cheese in top, mozzarella AND ricotta inside, and it wasn't super thick or thin crust. All the toppings felt fresh and the sausage was especially good. I also got to taste the bread sticks which were generously topped with parmesan and so so fluffy. So good. I ordered most of the same items that she did, but I unfortunately didn't have the same experience/reaction that she did. What I ordered: ~ Sicilian Style Pizza made The Bon Appetit Way; 1/5 ~ Crinkle-cut Fries with extra seasoning; 1/5 ~ Mama Mary's Meatballs; 5/5 ~ Churros Bites (12pc); 4/5 ~ Side of Garlic Butter; 1/5 ~ Side of Ranch Dressing; 0/5 The Garlic Butter had that jarlic (minced garlic in a jar) flavor to it which was unappetizing. The Ranch Dressing was thick but also very tangy and sour, which I did not like. The Sicilian Style (18 Inches) pizza was flavorless. I ordered it the Bon Appetit way (hot honey, basil, ricotta dollops) and added pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives as toppings. The ricotta and the hot honey didn't complement one another, they just clashed and tasted terrible. The mozzarella cheese was already cold and didn't taste like a high quality cheese. My toppings were also stuck to the top of the box when I received it. Not sure why they don't use the little plastic things that are made just for that reason. I also ordered the Fries and requested the crinkle-cut style with extra seasoning. Horrible. Half the fries weren't fully cooked. They were soggy and although I asked for extra seasoning, they were still bland. I'd hate to see what regular seasoning looked like. Mama Mary's Meatballs were actually pretty delicious. The meatballs weren't dry, they were really moist and tender. The marinara sauce poured over the meatballs was seasoned well and with the addition of the mozzarella cheese melted on top, these were really flavorful. Probably best meatballs from a restaurant that I've had in a very long time. The 12 Churros Bites were warm and soft with just the right amount of crunch. I requested extra cinnamon and sugar topping and they were perfectly sweet. I spent a lot of money on food that will be going in the trash. I really wanted to like this pizza, but sadly I have yet to find a really good pizza in the IE. My search continues.
