I scheduled an appointment with this skin studio in early January for a treat yo self Oxygen Facial using points via ClassPass. Since it was a spur of the moment decision, I ended up booking an appointment the night before. Sadly the technology did not technology and Posh Aesthetics did not receive my appointment in time to have a technician onsite. Honestly I was bummed, but understood. There's no reason for someone to be at the location if they didn't expect any customers. The issue was that following the 'appointment' I reached out not once, not twice, but three times to see if I could receive a refund. My outreach went unanswered and zero effort was made to rectify the situation. I get it. Merging appointment systems with a third party is hard. But there really should be no excuse for leaving a customer hanging after they 1. paid you. 2. were really excited to receive a service by you. Not my cup of tea. read more

First of all, shame on all you Yelpers for giving 5 stars in order to get your 50% off your next treatment. This is disingenuous on both the spa's part as well as the Yelpers. Yes, Telsha has cards offering a deal in exchange for 5-star reviews. So readers beware. I came here with a Living Social coupon for microdermabrasion and a peel. The soonest I could get in was a few months from the date I booked online. By the way, I had tried calling a few times, but no one ever picked up and the mailbox was full. Then a few days before my appointment, Telsha calls and asks to reschedule. Trying to be accommodating, I rescheduled to a less convenient time for me. Then the morning of, she calls and says she's running 10 minutes late. So I arrive 10 minutes past my scheduled time. And I still waited another 20 minutes before she even arrived. During the appointment, I learned her excuse was that her dog made a mess with a feather pillow. Was it worth keeping a first-time client, who had already rescheduled for you, to wait 30 minutes past her scheduled appointment? And then she asked if I was going to be late for work. Well, yes! So then after I fill out the extensive questionnaire, she tells me I cannot have the peel because I use Retin-A and I need to be off of it for about a week prior to that treatment. Couldn't she have told me that a week before my appointment? So then she said, we can do the microdermabrasion today and reschedule the peel or do both later. This was my first time doing either type of treatment, so I asked what she recommended, she said to do the microdermabrasion that day and the peel later (it ended up being a month later because that was soonest she could get me in). THEN during the microderm, she said "doing this right before the peel is actually more effective." Then why did she recommend that I split up the treatments? So I came back a month later for my peel and again was left waiting but only about 10 minutes this time. The peel made my skin look fantastic after a few weeks. It even helped fade a few acne scars and cleared up my acne. For that reason only, Telsha gets her star. But her unprofessionalism and disorganization overshadow the treatment. No matter how great the results, I'd rather go elsewhere. She also really should explain to her customers what they can't do prior to treatment as well as before. The process is detailed and extensive, and for someone as active as I am, I need to be able to plan for these things, especially since I had to book months in advance. It also would have been nice to have been given the head's up about having to purchase the post-treatment kit, which isn't cheap either. read more

I found Thelsha through a Groupon deal she was running about 4 years ago. I had spent thousands of dollars on lasers, acutane, prescription strength acne medicine and nothing worked long term. I had terrible hormonal adult acne and very bad scaring. (This is embarrassing to admit and write since I didn't take any pictures during these years or liked going out because I feared putting makeup on and making the situation worse) Anyway, it was an emotional and very expensive period. This kit sells for $20 RETAIL. When I purchased the deal I was not told I would need extra purchases and this caught me totally offguard. I trusted the aesthetician and now I feel ripped off. I decided to treat myself right before Christmas and got a peel before I traveled home for the holidays. I went to Posh Aesthetics for her fantastic reputation and gorgeous studio. I am amazed. Not only is Telsha one of sweetest people I've ever met, but the application of the peel was so quick and easy. She explained all of the after care and what to expect. Just finished my last of three sessions of microdermabrasion, peel, and retinoid treatments. This was the first time doing anything more aggressive than a facial. Purchased the deal off of groupon and couldn't be happier with the results. Skin is brighter, texture has improved (have some acne scarring from being a terrible person and picking at blemishes throughout the years). Have almost no breakouts, even during hormonal changes (might get one small pimple every so often). Will definitely purchase another pack of three for maintenance over time. I had Carliegh for all three treatments. She would always call the day before treatment to confirm, was never late I even would show up early and she was always there even if she didn't have an appointment right before me. She is very professional and easy to talk to. She makes sure we don't push the skin too far and doesn't push products on you but makes sure you are using proper products even if it isn't the kit they offer. I did my research before starting peels so I bought products prior to starting the sessions. She makes sure you take care of your skin after treatment and after every appointment reminds me what to do and not do to ensure great results. I drive all the way from downtown LA to Manhattan beach and will definitely continue to do so. If you purchase the groupon deal go with three for sure since results after the first session were great but if you have any issues you want addressed you'll need more than one. i found telsha on groupon and there was a 2 for 1 deal for black friday LAST YEAR, so i thought it was the perfect opportunity to give a chemical peel a shot. she got me in for my appointment, i got my chemical peel and i truly loved it. and i loved how it made my skin feel too. fast forward to the pandemic, i asked her if she would still honor the 2 for 1 deal past may (because that's when it expired) and i wouldn't be surprised if she said no because i understand, it's a business and you don't want to lose money. she said she would honor it no problem and i was very grateful for that. once things started to open back up and i tried to contact her, she would be very sporadic with her responses and sometimes wouldn't even respond back. barely has any available appointments and every time she responded she said she was out of town. every time i tried to make an appointment, she was not available and the last time i texted her i didn't even hear back. very unprofessional and a waste of my time. i look dumb hitting her up when she's not even going to respond. please save your money and go to a salon that has a front desk that will actually answer your calls!! read more

I really really wanted this to work out, but it didn't. I spoke with the owner after buying the living social coupon because I was still breastfeeding. She recommended that I wait to come in until after I was done and said she would remember me and cancel the appointments I made in the system. Fast forward to July when I came in and she said she did not remember me and it was expired. Thankfully, I had the email correspondence, and she honored my appt. Her assistant worked on me, asking me to rate my pain every 30 seconds. This was not my idea of a "pampering" facial, and in fact- there was really no facial- just one swipe of a dull microderm and a chemical peel applied. I asked for my money back after the appt because I did feel it was false advertising. Telshia asked me to reconsider. I did notice good results in a few days, and so rescheduled for my next two appts (there were 3 total with the voucher). I got a confirmation via email a day after I scheduled the appt. The day of the appt, I just emailed to make sure they had me, because I never got a confirmation the day before- and she said I was not in the system and I had no showed, no called back in February! So I had to dig up our old correspondence to show her what was going on. She again apologized and pleaded baby brain. I was pregnant with twins and successfully ran a psychotherapy practice with hundreds of clients and four employees, without missing one appointment- so I didn't buy it. Before I met Telsha at Kareen Aesthetics my skin was in bad shape! I had cystic acne so bad that I was often embarrassed to leave the house. What was really important was that I was not only given amazing facials but she also explained to me exactly how to treat my skin when I wasn't being pampered by her lol. I just got my first out of three peels done this past Saturday and I love the results so far, it's Thursday and I'm almost done with the peeling I just have some around my face (sides of cheeks, around my forehead and a bit on my chin). So I basically made a yelp just to review Telsha and her work. I got the LIVING SOCIAL deal for 49 dollars which is SUCH A BARGAIN! Before buying the deal I read reviews how she is really hard to get ahold of or get scheduled in. I wanted to buy this living social deal because my fiance was leaving for the army ina week as we speak. I emailed her and she emailed right back that she will do everything she can to get me in within the next few days so I am radiant for next week. She ended up getting me in yesterday(2 days later from email) before she left for New York which was so much quicker than I thought. She really cared that I wanted to look great for this going away party/engagement party next week. I ended up jogging to her location because it is 3.6 miles away and I love a reason to jog. I got there just in time and she actually let me rest a bit and gave me a lot of water to drink to cool off before the peel. When we were getting ready to do the peel she noticed my face was still really hot; I mean come on I was jogging in 90 degree weather ahah. She did something to my face to cool it down it felt like ice so the peel process wouldn't be painful which I thought was really sweet of her to do and not charge me extra for that. During the whole process she would ask how intense my face felt from pain from 1-10. It never got passed 2. I honestly didn't feel any pain and she is holding a little fan on your face the whole time to keep it from hurting. During the hour she talks to you and is like a best friend/therapist. I was telling her things that not many of my friends know about and she was giving good advice. She talked about herself as well which I liked and made me feel comfortable. She's a gorgeous women so I felt intimidated at first like she was gonna be snotty but she is the total opposite; so so so genuine:] As for the post procedure kit, she doesn't MAKE you BUY it, she just lets you know it would benefit you. She also lets you know of other products you can buy from a drug store if you do not want the kit. I ended up buying the kit from her just because it is made for the peel and I want to look my best and not flake so crazy or be very red. Yes like people complain, it is online for 20 bucks but with tax its like 27 with shipping, and you do not know the day it gets to your home. I live in an apartment with my fiance and do not ever check my mail box or want to wait because it could get lost in the mail. She sells the kit for 40. Wow whats another like 13 bucks? She was great! Friendly, explained everything really well and I was planning on purchasing more peels at regular price. UNTIL for my third peel Carleigh called to reschedule and come the day prior to my appointment, no confirmation email or courtesy call. I thought well I must have gotten the date wrong. 2 weeks pass and I called Carleigh and she said she no longer worked there and to contact the owner Telsha. Left a couple of messages on the number where no one ever picks up then sent a message through their webpage and said if I don't hear back in a reasonable amount of time I'm going to leave a yelp. I just finished my second peel tonight with Telsha and wanted to review the experiences I have had. Both times I purchased the vouchers for the facials and in my opinion the peel is worth a lot more. $49 is a crazy good deal. As with any deal of that nature, you may not get in to see her right when you want to but all you have to do is either book online or call the number and leave a voicemail. In my case she extended my voucher expiration dates for me, and she did it happily. Regarding Telsha: she is seriously the nicest person and although she is a knock-out the word that comes to mind is adorable. She's very welcoming and laid back and both times I have gone she never once tried to push any products on me. Which I appreciate. The kit you can purchase for the peel after care is kind of steep but I always consider it like a tip (I was told years ago that tips were not customary for aestiticians but I honestly do not know the rules and I will feel awful if I was supposed to tip and didn't). But I do plan on returning for any peels in the future and when I have some extra money I want to try some of the products. I don't understand the issue some have with giving a discount to customers if they leave a good review. It's an incentive but if you aren't happy with the service it's not like you are going to leave a great review and go back to her. I'm leaving this review because I'm a happy customer - I don't really care about the discount. The peels work really well. I had 3 layers done today and definitely feel the difference from the last one. I'm thinking 90 degree weather isn't the best time for a peel, but I'm sure the results will be great. I bought a Groupon a couple months ago, made my 1st appointment that went OK. I set up my next appointment for a month later . they called to cancel with me the day before. I had already taken the day off from work. She gave me some lame excuse about having a baby blah blah blah . Have done my 1st appointment/peel with Carleigh. She was very nice and polite. I was late but she was cool. However, the package including microdermabrasion but she did it very fast and even forgot some part of my face. After the peel, my skin got dry up and new acnes breaking out although old acnes is fading away. I will have another appointment with her next month- I may ask for a refund. Telsha is so cool! I love my peels and I just got another package of three for an amazing price. With each peel I see great results on my skin. My skin is oily and I have been battling acne for years now. I changed my diet and am doing the peels to get rid of the leftover scars. 6 peels should do the job.
